@bleakmidwinterghost
the funniest part of ghosts s5 ep6 is how hard robin and the captain are pushing for julian to apologise to alison like they weren’t both very much on board with killing her
Larry really woke up before filming episode 4 and said “I’m going to make Humphrey the most awkward, pathetic, wet sandwich of a man today and no one’s going to stop me”
… and I loved every second of it
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. HE’S DOING HIS BESTEST.
Ben Willbond; The Captain Era
I love how they call Robin’s wisdom ‘surprising’ in the season five episode descriptions like he doesn’t help half the ghosts get through some kind of mental breakdown every five seconds
the captain during christmas twist-it: look at this! supple as the day i died!
the captain on the day he died: *struggles through a window and falls from the ledge in a distinctly non-supple way*
Robin not knowing what Britain was and then telling them it didn't even use to be an island and he walked here is exactly the kind of ancient ghost shit I come to this program for
Iconic Mike Cooper things people don’t talk about enough:
The fact he types literally everything in comic sans. Dyslexic Mike confirmed?
That time he ate a trifle in bed
The fact he is THE SINGLE MOST impulsive man alive. He is literally so reckless with money. Why did he make like 80% of the decisions he ever made. Relatable king
Thr fact he was willing to go sledding with the vicar multiple times
The fact Humphrey isn't on Mike's ghost chart. Not directly a Mike thing but also an Alison thing.would Humph freak him out too much or what?
The fact he video calls Obi the second he experiences any emotion or problem. Why is Obi your go-to guy. I love him but when has Obi literally ever offered any helpful advice
The fact he keeps a wagon wheel in his pocket. King
The fact that he refers to himself as Daddy
His annual Christmas tantrums
His throat bass
His fantasy version of Robin being actual Pebbles from The Flintstones
His first instinct upon inheriting a mansion is to drill a hole into a random wall. What was he trying to achieve? We will never know
So casual to Pat and everyone else, so very meaningful to the Captain.
I love that Pat is always a comparison point of Captain’s character. His badges aren’t actually his, but hang on, this is contrasted by Pat rewarding him with one. Someone in a position of power as a scoutmaster awarding Captain compared to his superiors looking down on him for wearing badges that weren’t his. Captain’s episode about his death? He’s having conversations with Pat, they’re recognising when the other is stressed and discuss it.
They both have special interests and indulge each other, Captain talking about birds and Pat talking about camping. Captain cares about Pat’s input like he’s his second in command, and tries to lead the other ghosts back to him when Pat is visibly upset. They say things at the same time. All the things that Captain does, Pat matches him in his own goofy way.
Everyone talks about Cap and Kitty's father/daughter moment before the Xmas panto but no one mentions Robin comforting Pat like it's not just as much the sweetest thing.
I'll never stop thinking about all those ghosts Allison saw/briefly interacted with when she was house hunting with Mike again. Like can you fucking IMAGINE the shock those ghosts experienced upon realizing Allison could see them. and then she fucks off, never to be seen again
the thing is ghosts literally gave me the ending that i wanted. just the ghosts and alison+mike doing something mediocre together. nobody else got sucked off, they didn’t have to sell and alison didn’t lose her power. it was honestly perfect and i’m emotional.
At any given moment Robin is operating on some fucking five dimensional philosophical mental acrobatics chess that others cannot even begin to grasp
No one, including Alison, being phased by Robin running past screaming his lungs out about a bear, like "yeah that's just what he does."
Ben Willbond in Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016)
why does he move his head around so much. you are like a bird to me sir.
