I have recieved a comment telling me that it was transphobic to be comfortable with my masculine body as a nonbinary person. Like, (frustrated noise). there is so much to unpack with that take but I’m gonna focus on tiktok and tumblr’s perception of nonbinary people and how damaging that is to the community.

This idea that all nonbinary people must, like you know be fucking mullet, big eyeliner, fucking skinny, white, afab. Do you like frogs, do you like mushrooms? Shut the fuck up. I sometimes feel like my pronouns are rarely accepted because its like if you don’t look in my bio you hear my voice and it’s like, oh- Makes me so angry.

Tiktok and tumblr basically set themselves up for failure when they created this perfect perception of what a nonbinary person looks like. And god forbid if you don’t fit into that box, guess you’re not valid. Me being amab does not make me any less nonbinary and you’d think thats a given but for some people its just, you know- Do you like frogs or mushrooms? I’ll kill you, what the fuck.]

Note: The issue isn’t the people who fit the stereotypes, its the stereotypes being used to determine who’s “actually” nonbinary.

I can't stand when people try to INSIST that a nonbinary person isn't ~doing their gender right~. Like FUCK you! There isn't a wrong way to do or be any gender, and to try and CREATE a "correct" way to be nonbinary is so gross and wrong.

2. aysha @’s sarah z on twitter to inquire as to why she wasn’t contacted in the making of this video. gio replies with a mildly snippy tweet referencing the fact that whatpumpkin never responded to any of his attempts for contact in writing his own article

3. barely relevant but its literally always funny to me how people who are deep up the homestuck team’s ass think the fact that they are queer means that they are exempt from any criticism. girl. 

4. in a private patreon discord server aysha calls gio a stalker and says ‘go get this bitch’ and links to gio’s twitter. i feel like for reference here it’s really important to note that gio has like, around 500 twitter followers and is not exactly a massive presence.

I've ebbed the overall anxiety I feel when arguing on the internet after the first one or two replies. Having the insinuation I wasn't attractive was the overall tipping point to that discussion. That was when I realized this person really didn't have anything to say on the topic and were just trying to get me to shut up so they could hold their opinion guilt free.

On the actual topic of sex scenes in media, I don't actually care all that much when its in an adult property. Writers being horny is nothing new, its just the ways they're horny and how they treat certain groups of people needs to be criticized sometimes. The whole point of that tweet was to say "Hey, is this really needed? If this were removed, are we losing anything other than wank fodder?" Some people just don't grasp nuance.

This tweet doesn’t condemn being horny on main. It’s explicitly saying that most sex scenes are gratuitous and unneeded. There is literally no need for something like a teen drama to show in such detail the intricacies of sex to a target demographic of minors. And don’t give me the “Well it’s important to their lives” excuse, because that only applies to shows which seek to educate and not shows that perv on the bodies of its actors who are meant to be playing teenagers.

Also, you are not five. I shouldn’t have to explain to you that any writing advice like this is not saying “In every instance ever 100% of the time.” You don’t need your hand held. You are being willfully ignorant. This is the same conversation we’ve been having about the way female characters are portrayed in media and objectified, and how sex is pushed as this deeply important thing in a relationship when that’s never been true for most people. This is just that same idea applied to a much larger scope that includes everyone. If the idea of reigning in your sexual fantasies when creating media is uncomfortable for you then you need to go back to your writing class. Restraint is a virtue.

Also you can’t read, because the tweet does in fact say “never necessary”. Not rarely necessary, not necessary in very specific circumstances, it says never. And if you’re too stupid to see that that is stupid maybe storytelling isn’t for you. Also, what world are you living in where sex isn’t important to most people? I can tell you for a goddamn fact it is, physical intimacy plays a huge role in my life and the lives of other people in my community. Maybe the issue here is you’re just mad no one wants to fuck you.

Also the only person here who mentioned teens is you. Maybe you’ve got some stuff you need to work out but beloved you’re the only one who thought about teens fucking. I never said anything about that.

You have the same level of literacy as those men who hear “Men are trash” and then sob hysterically about how its totally not all men.

Secondly, this whole discourse is very much veiled in a lot of ace exclusionism. Sex isn’t a big part of relationships for most people, period. If you look at a romantic relationship and go “Well this is a sexual thing” then you’re not only being kinda shitty to asexual people, but you’re also exemplifying the very toxic mindset that if you aren’t having sex in a relationship then something must be wrong. Romance and romantic relationships, or hell even just physical intimacy in general is not an inherently sexual thing. You can hold hands and not thing about sex, you kiss and hug and not think about sex. You can cuddle and enjoy the physical act of touching without it being sexual.

Thirdly, you don’t have to show a sex scene to let the audience understand that characters have had sex. The fact you wanna show that in such graphic detail is entirely about horny. If the audience having the knowledge that these characters made it to the next stage of their arc is what’s really important, the implication is enough. Especially in situations where the target demographic is minors. Sorry you want to be horny with teen dramas, but there is a time and place.

Lastly, you sure did make your point when you told me nobody wanted to fuck me. Good job. Epic clapback. I am so shooketh you don’t even know. Talk to me again when you don’t have to insinuate how much or how little pussy I get to win an argument like a damn incel/mgtow.
