smth to keep in mind is that suo most likely didn't leave furin just so he could go back to the pupils of crimson vortex, as we now know that he returned there every day. however, we also got the info that he still goes out, and since he's not going to furin currently (assuming he's not attending school somewhere else), he's most likely dedicating his time to red chanpuru-related work. what i'm trying to say is that i find it unlikely that something like the dojo? possibly struggling due to the lack of business/finances is enough to make suo behave the way he did.
so i believe there is something critical happening in the district, with the heavy involvement from the red chanpuru.
because much like how suo treated his friends back at furin, he's deploying the same strategy with the people at the dojo: he's witholding crucial information. neither of the parties that are important to him outside of the rc know what's going on. something big could be happening, and he wants to keep all of them out of it by shouldering the burden by himself.
the scene where vuvu said that they'll all keep working hard so they can support the rc reminded me of the scene where nirei said something like that back in 208. suo's responses are similar too:
he smiles, and then teases the other. after this chapter, i'm starting to believe that suo was at least somewhat aware that he'll have to leave furin. in both of these scenes, nirei/vuvu talk about their goal for the future with confidence. they look forward to it with optimism. suo, on the other hand, uses his signature smile, but doesn't indulge in their enthusiasm.
nirei wants to keep up the good work together with everyone else and suo, but suo at this point knows that he won't be there. yet, he doesn't say a thing. he lets nirei enjoy the moment, even though he'll find out the truth soon.
looping back to the crimson vortex kids: well, they're kids. kids are very much known to be naive. so i don't think it'd be a reach to assume that they want to help the rc because the see the group in an idealized light. they respect suo, rakta and bacchus, who act as protectors, so they'd obviously want to be just like them. suo being suo wouldn't want to shatter this image in their heads.
additionally, the cook says that things are going to keep getting better, but judging by their reactions...
that's not happening LMAOOOO
but again, suo doesn't say anything. because, of course, he doesn't want to involve the others. doesn't want to make the kids face reality, doesn't want to bring down the man's spirit.
we know there's a problem. there is a considerable amount of children who aren't affiliated with the dojo that come in to eat. a kid skipped training because he had to watch over his sick mother, and he asked to bring food home. in some way, the kasai residents are suffering due to unknown causes. of course, the red chanpuru has to be aware of this.
tldr: i don't think everything is as wholesome as it seems. we don't know enough about the rc to come to a conclusion about what type of organization they truly are, but i believe something extremely dangerous has to be happening for suo to be acting like this.
