IMAGINE: you drunk kiss your ex (Calum)
You didn’t mean to do it. You didn’t mean to kiss him, but you were drunk, that wasn’t an excuse but you were drunk and Calum was on tour and you were lonely. You fucked up basically. You hadn’t seen Calum for months, he’d been off touring the world with the boys and you were happy for him, you really were, but you were lonely. Waking up in your house alone, in bed alone, making breakfast alone, spending time with yourself… you just needed somebody. You would talk to Calum every day via text and most days you would facetime if the time differences would let you but it wasn’t the same as him holding you in his arms and kissing your cheek while you lay in bed. It wasn’t the same as his arms around your waist as he would try and distract you from making breakfast or cooking dinner. It wasn’t the same as hearing those 3 little words face to face.
It was your best friends idea. She suggested going out that night for another friends birthday. She suggested going to that club where you initially met your ex and it didn’t cross your mind that this would happen. You and your ex didn’t part on bad terms, infact you were still friends. You’d still text now and again and pass pleasantries if you saw each other out and about. You simply parted because you grew apart. But with the alcohol running through your veins and the ever growing sense of loneliness filling your body, that need to feel his lips on yours… you kissed him.
It wasn’t anything hot and steamy or a quickie in the bathroom like what you see in the movies. You had seen him at the bar and he had offered to buy you a drink and you just got talking about random stuff. He was telling you about his new job, and you were intently listening, he offered to buy you another drink, and another, and another, and the more you drank the more intense the feeling of needing that love became inside of you. He was telling you about how his mother tried making a birthday cake for a family friend the other day and how bad it turned out and you just kissed him. You had been watching his lips for a while, the way they moved as he spoke and you just kissed him. It didn’t last long, it was only a quick kiss and he pushed you away after a few moments, telling you that you needed to go home, that you were too drunk. You didn’t fight back, you were so angry with yourself. He helped you out of the club towards his car to take you home. He drove you home and helped you inside, you kept muttering an apology about how you didn’t mean it and how you loved Calum. But that’s all you remember, after he tucked you into bed and you fell asleep you don’t remember anything else, apart from waking up the next morning and he was lay next to you awake and told you about the night before.
When you told Calum he was mad, he didn’t try hiding it, but he wasn’t mad at you, he was mad at himself, he let himself get too wrapped up in tour and he just neglected what was the most important thing to him. You. Well that’s what he said. You kept telling him it wasn’t his fault but he wouldn’t take it. He blamed himself. But the next weekend he flew back home to you because he couldn’t be apart from you for another minute and he kept apologising, he kept telling you he would never let that happen again, and you always told him it wasn’t his fault. When he went back on tour you went with him and it was the best experience of your life being with him in his element doing what he loved best and seeing him so happy on stage.
