just saw this on twitter and WAIT hc that before andrew graduates, he buys neil a soft toy fox to sleep with for their year apart. ALSO he makes sure to buy it a few weeks early and hide it in a drawer with his hoodies, so that by the time he gives it to neil it smells like him <3

about the part where andrew makes a grab for neil’s keys. pushes neil out of the elevator, and shoves past him- when you read this for the first time it makes you just think why’s he being such an ass but now it’s like yes this isn’t a good way to treat a new teammate just because you don’t trust them but THATS EXACTLY IT. his problem with neil is that he could be a threat to his family and it’s nothing personal- anyone new could be a threat- this is just andrew being prepared to deal with it if necessary

i can also see why stuff like that and drugging neil at eden’s becomes part of why some people (particularly on tiktok i’d say) don’t like andrew. maybe we are all biased for loving him as much as we do, but i think it says a lot of good about him that he only ever treats people this way in order to protect his family. maybe he holds this personal value so strictly that it becomes a fault, but as said in TKM, he doesn’t care about crimes done to himself. everything he does is for the people he cares about. i don’t know. i just could never hate andrew, and i will always love seeing the way that falling in love with neil changes him and lets him grow as a person.

I HAVE STARTED MY FIRST EVER AFTG RE-READ

i first read it from the 18th november to the 7th december 2023 so it has been 245 days since i finished TKM and i'm re-reading it

ANYWAY... my aim is to post any thoughts for each chapter- who knows how well i'll end up sticking to it cause there's every chance i'll get bored but i'm gonna at least try

TFC CHAPTER 1:

oh neil <3333 it's completely fascinating to me how endearing he is as a character straight away and andrew was so right to find him interesting like he REALLY is especially now that we've seen him from an outsider's person (jean in TSC). he's just so into his routines and life on the run that whilst he is aware that his way of life isn't typical, he is so desensitized to all of his thought processes like how if kevin remembers him he can leave PSU straight away

again about neil he deserves so much 😭😭 the way you can just feel how badly (against his better judgement) he wants to sign the contract and NOT ONLY because of his love for exy but because after so many years on the run he just wants some stability for once. like wdym he's being offered the chance to stay in the same place for FIVE YEARS??? no wonder he can barely believe that a Class I team actually wants to sign him on

oh and LAST THING i'm positive someone else will have done this before but anyway i'm gonna count how many times neil says "i'm fine" so TFC chapter 1 he said it twice 😭
