Hey so let’s talk about a show with problematic characters who aren’t shown as “evil people” but whose problems aren’t just swept under the rug like they never did anything wrong. Let’s talk about a show that has strong female leads, including strong women of color. Let’s talk about a show that has a main plotline about two gay teenagers who aren’t fetishized and who aren’t killed off specifically for being gay. Let’s talk about a show that deals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, grief, and homophobia (internalized and externalized) in a way that doesn’t make these people seem any less like people for dealing with these problems. I will never EVER stop talking about Eyewitness. And neither should anyone else

While I loved OG Roswell.

To me Roswell New Mexico was so much better, I love the characters more and feel like the growth was genuine and well thought out. That there was such amazing representation.

Okay but I'm so glad they adapted possibly my favorite scene from all of the comics, which I wasn't surprised about but was still grateful for. By which I mean, the scene where Nick communicates that he's not ready for sex and even after they agree on wanting to but not being ready, Charlie tells him he'd only want to have sex if Nick did and would never want to do it if Nick never wanted to. Even while knowing he wants to have sex with Nick one day, he won't hesitate to give up that idea if it's not mutually desired, because it's about intimacy with Nick and not sex for the sake of itself.

The first time I read that scene in the comics, my ace heart sang. It's one of those moments where Alice Oseman being aroace really shines through, because for allos sex is just a given and the lack thereof would beba deal breaker. I'm not saying someone would be wrong for wanting sex in a monogamous relationship, but it feels refreshing and safe to me as an ace person to see two people who feel the attraction but still prioritize each other and their relationship and normalize the presence of sex as a discussion and not an assumption.

This sort of thing is exactly why I desperately want more romance written by aspec people across the spectrum.

Or the grimace he makes when he calls her a kook and hurts her. He absolutely hated himself in that moment because he never wants her to be hurt.

Headcanon:

Wayne’s extensive hat collection started as a Christmas joke when he commented on how Eddie was gaining all the hair Wayne was losing and he’ll need to start wearing hats. Eddie gets him a new one with various jokes every year.
