Guided by a strange letter sent by Tom, a friend who once shared a room with him at the orphanage in his childhood, Harry travels to the city of Yharnam.
There, he learns that he must somehow fulfill the Hunt.
Wherever he goes, Harry slays blood-starved beasts.
Tom appears before him from time to time, leaving behind cryptic, riddle-like advice before vanishing once again.
As Harry continues to defeat beasts and beings known as the Great Ones, he eventually reaches a castle called Cainhurst.
There, Harry learns that his mother was a descendant of the Cainhurst bloodline. He also discovers that she despised that tainted lineage and fled from her kin.
But she is gone now. After escaping three times—from her own people, from the Vileblood hunters, and from the unknown horrors of Yharnam, she gave birth to Harry and died.
Among those who bear the cursed blood of Cainhurst, male children are not meant to be born.
Harry was the long-held wish of the Cainhurst bloodline, the Child of Blood. A bloodline blessed with a healthy male child. In time, he will commune with the Great Ones, and lead his lineage… humanity itself, to the next stage.
And yet, he was still human.
In time, Harry brings the Hunt to its end.
He uncovers every mystery and slays the many Great Ones that infest Yharnam. Through this, he gains immense "Insight", becoming the human closest to the Great Ones.
Then, before him appears a Great One known as the Dark Lord.
The Great One: the Dark Lord. By a secret name, he was called Voldemort.
After a brutal battle soaked in blood, Harry finally defeats the Great One: Voldemort.
In the course of their struggle, their blood fully mingles, and at last, all preparations are complete.
At that moment, Tom appears.
Tom is revealed to be the transient form of the Great One: Voldemort. He had "marked" Harry ever since the boy’s birth, tracking him throughout his life under the guise of a friend.
However, Harry had already gained the necessary "Insight" to comprehend that truth.
The Great Ones yearn for a child, and through Harry… humanity itself evolves.
The Great One: Voldemort breeds with Harry. Because all Great Ones desire offspring. And so, they flourished.
Their bloodline is born carrying innate arcane power, and in later ages, they come to be known as wizards.
Side note:
・Voldemort is inspired by Formless Oedon rather than the Moon Presence, though elements of both interpretations are mixed in.
・I just really want a Great One Voldemort who breeds with Harry👤
・I finished Bloodborne years ago, so I’m not completely sure my interpretation of the lore is fully consistent.
