i know they didn’t really have another choice but it’s so disappointing that they just tacked a regeneration scene at the end of an episode that initially wasn’t at all meant to be a farewell. ncuti TOTALLY should have had one last special with tons of hype surrounding it where he battles the daleks and saves rogue before exiting the show, something that actually FEELS like a conclusive send-off instead of getting an out-of-nowhere regeneration in an episode that wasn’t even remotely building to it :(

I'm already mourning rogue's and 15's unmatched chemistry 😭😭😭😭 I need so much more of them together. what do you mean last episode we got a love confession and now this episode we never saw rogue again and 15 just regenerated without even THINKING of rogue one last time?? like he just forgot about him??

don't get me wrong I love billie piper and I love rose, and I actually think billie would make an amazing doctor. but it just doesn't make ANY sense to me?? the whole point of 15's story arc was to let go of the past. every other doctor since rose has been traumatised from her loss. even 13 and 14 still brought up rose and weren't able to let her go. 15's whole point was to say "okay, I love rose and all my other past companions but that is in the past and I'm ready for new things" bc he allowed himself to feel his emotions and deal with them so he could heal and move on. it just doesn't make any sense to me that the doctor's new form would then take on HER FACE??? my dad says it makes sense bc it's the ultimate sign of love and whatever and honoring her but to me it just feels like she's once again hanging over the entire story even though we should have moved on?? like again, I absolutely love rose but idk

I have a theory that Billie may not be playing the Doctor, as the credits didn't introduce her as such. Who she would be I have no idea. However, if she is, I'm wondering whether it's because when Rose looked into the Heart of the TARDIS all those years ago, a small echo of her, a little remnant, was left behind. Then when the Doctor pumped his regeneration energy into the console and the Time Vortex, that echo echoed back into him, and that's why he has her face now.

I'm looking forward to the reason they give, and I hope it's a good one.

I also already miss Ncuti. One of my favourites!

Oooh I like that idea! I mean, I'm excited to see what happens anyway ... It wasn't my intention to hate on billie or her as the doctor. I love her and I think having her play the doctor could be really exciting and fun bc it would offer a bunch of unique narrative opportunities

I just don't get how it makes sense at all for the doctor to take on her face, especially after they put an emphasis on 15 having moved on from that

but yeah, I'm also incredibly heartbroken over 15 leaving, he's in my top 3 favourite doctors of all time and he barely even had 2 full seasons because there are episodes he barely appeared in and both seasons were really short. he deserved so much more
