Honestly shocked it was so lopsided. Like I love Gatwa but the eight episode seasons are a poison pill to me just not working for the show
RTD has written his last column for Doctor Who Magazine, and despite his desperate attempts to convince us everything is fine, the fact that he’s stepping down while the show is in limbo doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
Also you’d think he’d want to stick around to promote his upcoming Who spinoff The War Between The Land And Sea (rubbish title btw). Instead he’s choosing to scarper like a rat does from a sinking ship. So yeah, this spinoff sounds like a dead turkey to me.
As for the main show, it’s unclear when or if it’ll even come back. RTD has nothing to say on that front beyond pathetically trying to drum up interest in his dangling threads:
Who’s the Boss? (Who cares?)
Will Susan come back? (Well not to be a pessimist, but considering Carole Ann Ford is 85 now and, if there is a God, we won’t see this show come back for some considerable time, I’m willing to bet she won’t return. And that’s probably for the best)
What’s the mystery behind the Doctor regenerating into Billie Piper? (There is no fucking mystery. You brought her back for clickbait and you haven’t officially announced her as the next Doctor because she’s a sensible woman who refuses to sign a contract until she knows whether or not production is moving forward. Please stop trying to trick people into thinking your bullshit is smart, you stupid, dishonest little man 😡)
