#161: The Unison (10x04)

Later, towards the end of this episode, Michonne refers back to the moment where Judith offers to be a listening ear by saying Judith is coming with her to Oceanside. It’s cute seeing Michonne has opened up to letting Judith be her listening ears.

In season 9 she wasn’t sure how much Judith should take in since she wanted her daughter to enjoy being a kid. But Grimes roll different and can handle a lot. So Michonne knows that, while she still wants Judith to be a kid, she can let her in to the grown folk stuff a bit more too. And it’s sweet to see how excited that makes Judith. And their little high five before they head off is great. ☺️

I’m always happy when this mother daughter duo are together. And perhaps the scene where they were more together and in unison than ever, is in the scene that happens the night before.

It was such a breath of fresh air to have Michonne and Judith Grimes back on our screens after it had been a minute. And of course they offer up some adorable and memorable moments.

I love that in this episode Judith wants to document everything and go to the library and Michonne can’t help but give into her daughter’s request.

When they’re in the library it’s sweet to see Michonne say they could read a book together. I love the idea of them having their own little mother daughter book club. See, Michonne is raising Judith to not just be a warrior but a smart and well-read warrior. Versatile queens. 👑😌

#172: The “Believe A Little Longer” (10x13)

Y’all this scene right here! Something special. 🤩 I can’t get over Michonne’s reaction as she learns what we’ve all known…that her man survived!!

Like of course it’s the boots that make her privy to the fact that somehow Rick’s body traveled somewhere. But, for all she knows, the boots could have just washed ashore. But on this boat, there is now no denying that one; Rick survived that explosion and two; that wherever he went, he’s been thinking about his wife and daughter. Just like a real one would. 👌🏽

And their youngest addition is proof of that cuz RJ makes this family and the Richonne journey so whole.
