Let's say about five-six years or so, which would put him in his early twenties, about 21/22:
He isn't particularly interested in the politics and intrigue of heroics like he was as a teen; Hugh and Nate and Rosa take up the threshold that he and Hilda left behind and he's pretty ok with that, he never really saw the hero thing as being his style
By extension he probably gives up childhood hopes of becoming Champion because who even wants to deal with that mess anyway
He's already more interested in becoming an Ace Trainer and so by that time I'm pretty sure he's achieved that much
He travels around a lot from region to region and really loves challenging other Leagues even if he never picks up the Champion title, most of them probably know him really well by now because he's always there bugging them for battles
His team is mostly the same I bet: Serperior, Blitzle, Braviary, Scolipede, Durant, and Haxorus. They're his mains because he beat the Leauge with them originally, but I imagine he has alternate specialized teams.
He trains a lot of stat-based alternates, specifically speed and attack
Ummmm relationships! Hilda, Cheren, and Bianca are still his besties of course and he really likes Nate, Rose and Hugh too even though they aren't very close
He is maybe??? romantically involved??? with someone? Probably N, maaaybe Bianca or otherwise someone he knows from woRK or something
yeah he's a big gay mostly and even if he isn't ""with"" N he still spends an inordinate amount of time broing it up with him
WHOA HE'S A BABE like holy crap he got really tall, like super lanky but sort of... broad? Wide shoulders and a really square jaw, he's pretty muscular in the lean-but-toned sense
His hair got just a bit longer and is kind of shaggy because he's bad about trims and sometimes (more often than not) there's stubble on his chin because what is shaving regularly
He probably acts more mature and less purposefully dopey, at least around his immediate group of friends (see: Hilda and the gang), he doesn't keep up the loving jerk facade and is generally a bit more on the serious side
Where did his dumb self-depreciating sense of humor come from?? Not sure will look into
He probably has a place in Black City but I don't think he likes it much there
He prefers hanging out in the other regions when he can; Hoenn is a favorite because it isn't so urban and Fortree reminds him of N
Assuming they are together I think they might even have a place there as a sort of get away together spot wow what lame cuties
He is still a complete loving dope
