Metal-bending project (yes I feel like Toph)

Making a conventional KAFO (knee ankle foot orthosis) for a pediatric patient model

Worked on bending the uprights, thigh band, and calf band to fit the patient model's leg tracing. It gets kind of tricky cuz something by bending the metal in one plane, you also induce a rotational bend that's a pain in the ass to correct

I've gotta rivet this and then put it in the sandscreen machine so it gets nice and shiny

Working on an ischial containment socket for a patient model with a transfemoral (above-knee) amputation. To cast the patient, one of your hands has to push really hard into their butt until you can feel their pelvis. Like, my shoulder hurt for several days after.

Once the cast hardened enough to remove from the patient model, I poured plaster into it and then stripped the plaster cast off to create a positive mold. I'll work on modifications to the socket this week.
