Around the next day, Gavin ran in late for work. The boys have slight looks at the Brit before waving it off. Of course Gavin felt bad, but he ignored the rude looks and sat down beside Michael.
Gavin wasn’t really himself today. He didn’t really talk to anyone, and no one talked to him. It was the most quiet Gavin has ever been.
By lunch time everyone left the office, leaving it just him and Michael.
Of course, at Gavin’s late entrance, Michael clicked his tongue in annoyance and made a sly remark about it. However, he furrowed his eyebrows when he didn’t receive as much as a glance in return. This was confusing to the brunet because since he first saw Gavin, he could tell the Briton was one to make remarks back or stand his ground. The silence was strange and unwelcomed, honestly…
When lunch time rolled around, Michael was ready to get up and leave with the other guys. However, something was nagging at him to stay behind and talk to his office mate. So when everyone left, Michael just plopped back down in his chair and rolled over to Gavin’s side.
"What’s up?" He asked, implying a question toward his silence rather than a current event.
Gavin continued to stay silent, keeping his head down as everyone passed him without a word. It slightly startled the brit when Michael asked him what was up. Gavin didn;t turn yet though, he remained in his spot, staring at a stain near his feet.
"I..." Gavin began, but couldn't find the words to finish. He could almost feel the tears welling up in his eyes already, and he had barely said one word.
Instead, Gavin shook his head and raised his hands to his face to prevent Michael from seeing his tears.
