Don’t @ me, I just finished the last ep and I’m pissed - no I have not read the series I’ve heard it’s even worse

VEGAS should have shot Korn and then taken over the minor family.

Not because he deserved it, or whatever, but because it would have been 1 - more realistic and 2 - more interesting. And if you can’t agree with that can we at least agree that it would have been more satisfying??

Unfortunately, I’m aware that they set it up perfectly to be unsatisfying and ready for the next season’s conflict (which it seems like we will not be getting).

PORSCHE accepting the minor family ring and running off to play mob boss house with Kinn was extremely ooc.

Porchay is left alone (heartbroken might I add) in his sad little gray room while everyone moves on. A fundamental character trait for Porsche from the beginning it that he would do anything for his little brother. He drops out of school and works several jobs to make sure he is taken care of and that he can finish school and achieve his dreams.

Yes, Kinn has reached a high position on Porsche’s priority list. No, I do not think he trumps Chay. The only reason Porsche didn’t leave that night in the wilderness was because he came back so Kinn didn’t die. Otherwise, he fully intended on going back to Chay.

Obviously, many arguments can be made to this. But, my end all, be all, is the fact that despite everything that has happened and despite his love for Kinn - Porsche never wanted anything to do with the Mafia. Why would he agree to run it??

PETE did not get a happy ending.

He was abused as a child and now has fallen in love with his abuser. The scene in which he calls himself Vegas’ pet at the pool after giving up everything for him proves that he indeed has this mindset. No matter how badly Vegas treats him, as long as he feeds him after, he will stay.

Vegas saying the opposite in the hospital does not change this foundation of their relationship. Neither of them evolved as people at all.

At the end of the day, I’m aware that this is a fucked up series with severely fucked up and damaged characters. We were never getting a “happy” ending.

I obviously didn’t hate the series either. The actors all did an amazing job and it was an exciting story. These are only my thoughts and opinions. 🫶

The Masterpiece of a Monster's Plan: Deconstructing Shao You's Tears

This right here isn't just sadness. This is the sound of a mind shattering.

This is the precise moment Hua Yong's masterpiece was complete. Every single thread of Shao You's life was pulled taut to create this crescendo of absolute devastation:

His legacy is failing (his company, attacked by Hua Yong himself).

His duty is crumbling (his father is dying, and the only medicine is contingent on a trade orchestrated by his tormentor).

His body has betrayed him (he was just violently subdued and "claimed," his Alpha biology overwritten by force, a profound and humiliating violation). This is compounded by a cruel biological truth: an Omega's psyche is wired to endure and even bond through such abuse, a survival mechanism their biology provides. An Alpha's is not. Shao You was violated with a body and mind that had no evolutionary defense for it, making the trauma infinitely more profound.

His pride, the core of his identity as an Alpha, is annihilated.

And then, the final, masterful stroke from the puppeteer: Hua Yong disappears, framing it as a noble self-sacrifice. "I will give myself to Wenlang to get the medicine for your father."

He makes Shao You believe he is the reason for the suffering of the one person he was manipulated into wanting to protect above all else. The guilt, the helplessness, the cognitive dissonance—it's too much. The dam breaks.

These tears are the collapse of Shao You's entire world. He hasn't just lost; he's been systematically stripped of everything that made him him: his autonomy, his pride, his control, his reality.

Hua Yong designed this. They engineered this exact breakdown. And from these shattered pieces, Hua Yong could finally begin to rebuild Shao You exactly as he wanted him: compliant, dependent, and forever bound by a debt of "gratitude" for a sacrifice that was a lie.

One cannot help but recognize the sheer, terrifying genius of Hua Yong's plan—the ingenuity and skill required to dismantle a man so completely. Yet, that same recognition must be accompanied by the horrifying truth: it was a cruel, ruthless, and utterly merciless method. His brilliance is what makes his monstrosity so effective, and therefore, so chilling.

His eventual "acceptance" of Hua Yong isn't love. It's the desperate clawing of a drowning man for the only lifeline thrown to him—the very one who held him underwater. His secretary's silent presence was a comfort, but not a rescue. It was just enough to keep him from completely disintegrating, ensuring he remained conscious for his own reconstruction.

This isn't romance. This is a horror story. And this is the proof.

ABO Desire and 'Omegaverse Just Be Like That'.

Oooof. Pushback time. In relation to ABO Desire specifically I'm seeing a lot of defense of it as 'well, that's just what omegaverse is so you can't criticize it'. That's wrong. Is Omegaverse a framework often used to explore non-con and dub-con themes? Absolutely. But saying the purpose of omegaverse is consent issues is like saying the purpose of vampires is intense and graphic gore and violence. It's not, necessarily. It's an option, certainly. A popular option, even. But vampires offer so much more than violence, and the best vampire media uses violence as part of a larger tapestry, in aide of theme and story-telling. Omegaverse serves a lot of meta functions. While consent is a factor, my omegaverse observations are that it's more often used to express shame-free sex, unabashed desire, and connection, bonding and reconciliation with a desired partner. Think about it. I bet a lot of omegaverse you've read features an omega who wants to have filthy, semi-forceful sex, where THEY are the focal point, THEIR desires and needs are being serviced by an Alpha who is THEIR choice. An alpha who will love them no matter how wanton they are, no matter how many bodily fluids they leak. An alpha who bonds, i.e. chooses them. Who cares for them, defends them, adores them. Who wants to be domestic with them. So much of omegaverse is actually about partnering with conviction, honesty and intimacy. Knotting is hot, yeah, but it also goes with vulnerability, with intent to procreate, and it almost always forces a post-coital cuddle and conversation. Pheromones are a way of signaling emotional states without having to articulate them, and they cannot be ignored or brushed aside; you have to deal with what your partner is feeling. Biting acts as a public sign of connection; bite marks are like fingerprints. Often claimed partners share a low level of psychic connection or empathy, another way to share partner intimacy and keep attention. Whether you identify as the alpha or the omega- (so often those are sorted into a Dominant and Submissive- but again, not always. I've seen plenty of Dominant Omegas)- The breakdown remains the same: I want me a partner who finds me sexually irresistible, who cares about my sexual experience, who chooses to be with me in a faithful, permanent, sexually debauched union that might include kids. But even that isn't all that omegaverse is. I've seen it used to explore sexuality, sexual assault, sexual trafficking, identity, societal gender roles, domestic gender roles, sexism, misogyny, heteronormativity, truemates/one true loves, mourning and grief, BDSM and power play, transgenderism, body image, changing body image, group and family dynamics, parental disappointment in a child's gender, parental expectations of a child's identity, child abuse and neglect, and, yes, as pure smut highlighting an assortment of kinks. There is literally so much intersectionality in omegaverse. Omegaverse is not one thing. Alphas are not always men with knotted dicks. Omegas are not always completely power-less damsels. And I love omegaverse for it's capacity to reveal our own thoughts and biases on gender. HOWEVER. If you're going to write omegaverse that lasts beyond a sex scene or two, you have to root around in the guts of it. You can't just throw noncon on the screen and go 'Welp, that's just the way it is, lol' in something long form. Why is it like that? Should it be like that? Are we supposed to enjoy that it's like that? Are we not supposed to enjoy it? Why are you filming Rapier as titillation if you also want to condemn it? Are you not going to condemn it? Why? Is this somehow less Rapier than other Rapier? If that's the case, you sort of need to be explicit about the distinction.

Frankly, there isn't a lot of smutty fun here, and in my estimation omegaverse primarily exists as a vehicle for sex and partnering. When people onscreen go into heat or rut, it looks like they're ill, not horny. This is one of the most sex-less productions I've ever seen. ABO Desire is primarily a story with a lot of non-con and wildly fucked up power dynamics. And that's not bad, necessarily. But that is not Omegaverse's fault. It's not there because omegaverse. Omegaverse isn't a monolith. The author chose to include lots of different kinds of non-con in this story. Personally, I think if you choose to include it, particularly on this scale, you should do something with it. I've seen that sentiment echoed a lot in people who are watching ABO Desire and finding the experience distasteful. They're then accused of not knowing what omegaverse is, or hating omegaverse. That is not the case. Omegaverse is not Sexual Assault the Musical; omegaverse means a lot of different things to different people. If what you like in omegaverse is the non-con, maybe that's something for you to acknowledge. You're ALLOWED to like it, though. You also don't get to Gatekeep omegaverse. The show may yet deal with it's nonconsent, we don't know. But just going 'It's omegaverse' does not lend legitimacy to shallow story-telling. It's also okay to like shallow trash stories. But that isn't an excuse for lack of coherency, consequence and perpetration of Rapier culture. You just have to accept that you may like a show that does those things.

ABO Desire ep 9

People are freaking out over ep 9 today (myself included) but people are treating this like a win…? Babe, this is not romantic, it’s actually quite heartbreaking. There has been an irreversible loss of control that has caused both Shen Wenlang and Hua Yong to hurt (in arguably the worst way they could) the people they hold most dear. Sheng Shaoyou and Gao Tu are now traumatized by these people they trust. HELL, Shaoyou doesn’t even know who it was; all he knows is that he was violated and now his lover is gone.

Anyone I see acknowledging the SA in the series is only explaining it away with “it’s a different world! They have animal instincts!” And yes, while this is true, it does not make the SA that happens any less hurtful and tragic. All wrong place; wrong time. Anyone else I see talking about it is either romanticizing it or just excited that they finally are moving the story along. And look I get it, but come on guys, I can’t be the only one whose heart broke when hearing Shaoyou’s scared voice or when seeing that tear slide down our baby, Gao tu’s, face.

All this being said, I think the actors and producers did an amazing job portraying the scenes. Looking forward to seeing how they handle everything in the next episode.

Pretty

I’m scared that I’m pretty. I’ll be going about my day and I suddenly become aware of my skin. My curves are too prominent and my clothes are too tight, too small. I want to claw my way out of my skin and muscle and fat and come back when it feels more like a fortress and not a platter. Maybe all women feel this way at times.

I’m scared people see me and they create a certain image of me in their head. When they get to know me, it’s different. Not what they imaged. Not what they were looking for.

I’m scared I didn’t get to “date” enough as a kid. My mom always encouraged it. She said even if it didn’t last it was good to build those social skills. Because dating skills are different from friendship skills.

I’m scared I’m asexual or aromatic. Not because I think these things are bad but because I want to be in Love. Ten year old me thought I would be by now.

Nice to pretend

I was invited to my cousins baby shower through my grandmother. I’m not sure if that was my cousins intention but I took the invitation anyhow.

It was held at her friend’s house, tucked back in a neighborhood of equally lavish houses. I do not know the friend’s name, but that is common in these cases.

Walking in could only be described as walking into a soft pink wonderland with fresh flowers on every table and a farmhouse candle burning that my mother used to favor.
