As I’m writing my fic, I am trying to carefully choose my characters actions and the things they interact with. If it doesn’t serve as a symbol or move the plot forward, I don’t include it. Why are the Duffers constantly including distinct shots and entire scenes with their characters interacting with something very specific if they mean nothing? I honestly just think they’re fucking incompetent and just made all their decisions based on vibes

I just wanted to express my thoughts here, since tomorrow everything is going to change. I’ve been here since 2022 and gotta be honest, at first I only really cared about stranger things because of Will. I still do, ngl, but I think at this point, it’s much more than that, much more than just wanting to see two boys get together.

This show, and shipping byler, have sparked something in me. A love for good storytelling, a love for cinematography. And, thanks to a certain project for school —despite my imperfect career choices— I found out how passionate I actually became about it, after all these years of being here, and this was thanks to everyone here.

The theories. The analyses. Everything I learnt about camera angles, about symbolism, about showing and not telling, because that’s what makes cinema. The attention to detail, down to the tiniest figure on a shirt. The love one can have for a story and its characters and the desire to tell a story that feels fair to them.

I feel stupid sometimes, when I lose all hope and think that I am expecting too much from a big, mainstream show on such a huge platform, but then again, it’s big for a reason, right? And on top of that, byler happening wouldn’t just be for shits and giggles, it would be revolutionary. It would set a standard that I, as a queer person, have been wanting to see since forever. It would fulfill a dream, not only of mine but of many of us, to not only see queer romance in shows about queer romance, but to see a good story, a good plot, good characters, and a queer romance. Not only that, but a queer romance that is the key to defeat all evil.

I know that, despite everything and whatever happens tomorrow, I’m taking that experience with me forever, that love, and that passion. However, the only way it would actually feel fulfilling would be with byler endgame.

Will Byers is an extremely necessary queer character, undoubtedly. And whatever happens, I know his story is a love letter for many of us who relate to him: the visibly different, the excluded, the troubled, the survivors. A reminder that we can and we will learn to love ourselves despite how different or out of place we feel, and that is our superpower.

However, Mike Wheeler is just as equally necessary and important. He’s the representation of all those queer people who have been living in fear, suppressing what they feel, hiding, ashamed of who they are. His existence is hope, a reminder that we are here, even if we don’t ‘seem’ queer. And that, despite our past mistakes, our past hatred —be it towards ourselves or others—, we deserve to find ourselves, to love ourselves, and to love.

I don’t want to be called ridiculous, delusional, or stupid, for wanting a story that is so obviously there. Not anymore. Not with this. And I know I, all of us, will be okay even if we do, as infuriating as it is. But this is, as I said before, beyond wanting to see two boys kissing. Byler canon would scare away the people who never should have been here in the first place, as this story isn’t theirs. And it will make other people, other showrunners, say ‘If stranger things did it, what’s stopping us?’

hey everyone! i recently made this post of my thoughts and feelings about stranger things volume 2 and how i think the story could be saved and why the writing has gone downhill. check it out because i think just deciphered something from robin’s code in episode one that might confirm the writing is bad on purpose.

so robin has been a big part of the story, bigger than i actually expected. (don’t get me wrong i was pleasantly surprised) i would argue she’s been used more than once to communicate codes/messages from the writers (wsqk spotify, snowball>avalanche) and i always wondered if there was something about her code in episode one that i needed to figure out. so let’s unpack it.

“the supremes had 10 songs at the top of the charts”

i think this line is talking about volume 1, sorcerer, the second highest rated episode in all of stranger things.

“she tried to make it big in the movies with the wiz which was a colossal floparoonie”

this line is a direct attack on volume 2, the bridge, which is now stranger things’ lowest rated episode of all time. it mentions the movie “the wiz” which was largely controversial, widely hated, and, as robin said, a colossal flop. robin then says she still liked it, and to give it a chance.

here’s where it gets kind of crazy.

“make sure you bring your supersized popcorn, because this movie has a runtime of over two hours.”

yes, that’s right, our stranger things finale that’s just over 2 hours is going to be in theaters where you can watch while eating your supersized popcorn. robin is telling us that you need to give the finale a chance to explain everything. the writers are aware volume 2 isn’t good, but they’re also confident you’ll like the finale.

oh, and one last thing. there is one other character that mentions “wiz” in this very same episode.

yeahhhh… we usually see mike late in his opening scene. this is the one season we don’t, because he’s “gonna take a whizz”. mike is about to screw up the entire story.

don’t care if this is controversial, i truly believe that mike would be one of the most horribly written and boring characters if he turned out to be straight especially after i’ve had to watch almost a decade of my favourite character being fully in love with him + sacrificing so much for him + saving him AND being so understanding of him (more than his own current partner). then imagine going back and rewatching the “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls” scene and the weird airport hug where he looked uncomfortable to even touch will… it’s just weird and cruel as hell if internalised homophobia isn’t the explanation. it would look so bad and ruin the way i see him
