OK so since I made a recent post about Farold and Rosemarie, this time, you get Lennon and Casey.
LENNY THIS SWEETHEART OF A MAN WHO CAN DO NO WRONG (fsfs)
So the thing about Lennon. He has trauma. Heck, he has sleep paralysis all about the trauma and guilt he feels. People hate him. They try to knock him down, kill him, tell him heâs crazy for being kind to his enemies. But yknow what? He doesnât let it affect him. He will keep on genuinely smiling and finding the humor in the world. Because the world can take away everything except his smile. That belongs to him.
And since we're on the theme of how he treats the world, I'll reverse it and talk about how he treats himself because this guy is AWFUL at it. When someone legitimately wants to know if heâs okay, he will sincerely ask âwhy does that matter?â Not in a scolding, sarcastic way. He genuinely does not think it matters in the slightest. He has come to believe his only purpose is to care about every other person but himself. He almost dehumanizes himself and acts as if there is nothing else heâs meant to do. Heâs reckless. He still drives a motorcycle on dangerous city roads because he thinks itâs unimportant if something were to happen. Sure, he in no way wants to dieâof course, not. Heâs got a family. Heâs got friends. He knows they care about him (to some extent), yet he still canât think of himself as doing anything differently for their sake. Itâs something he shouldânay, needs to learn, but his dumb little brain wonât let it in.
And it's such a contrast. He doesn't let what the world thinks affect him. He doesn't let it bother him. Their opinions don't necessarily mean anything to him. Yet somehow, if someone even suggests he doesn't care about them (aka the PEOPLE), he will sincerely and politely call you an idiot.
Because he doesnât care about "the world." He cares about the people. Everything he does is centered around people. That's all that matters to him. The people.
And somehow, he's forgotten that he's a person too.

CASEY TIME
So one thing that stands out about this strange, british man is that he's kind of a walking contradiction. He's arrogant but aware of everything he does wrong. He gives great advice but can't for the life of him follow it himself. He loves being different but hates to be misunderstood. He has amazing ideas but lacks the patience necessary to follow through. He loves people but is constantly judging them. Heâs a paradox.
But I'd say the most noticeable difference is his complete reckless behavior, despite his impossibility to ever make a decision.
And that doesn't seem like a huge contradiction at first, right? But with a certain sense of bold actions, you have to have quick resolution. You can't really call yourself reckless if it takes you thirty minutes to decide if doing the thing is beneficial enough for your intents.
So to conclude, I guess Casey is a pretty daring guy, insomuch as he doesn't mind the danger. But he will NOT stand for making hasty decisions.

âMom? Iâm home.â Vivian hip-checked the front door closed behind her and waited for a second to see if there was any response. Nothing; no surprise there. Sheâd long since given up on that kind of greeting and wasnât sure what had made her try it again today. Wishful thinking, she supposed.
Vivian dropped her backpack on the kitchen table and squeezed past it to open the pantry cabinet, letting herself pretend for a moment that she was skimming over after-school snack options.Â
Can I interest you in half a pack of stale graham crackers? Or a can of beans? How about a decadent charcuterie board with three different cheeses and crackers and fresh grapes?Â
Oh, Iâll have the charcuterie board, that sounds amazing, she responded to herself.Â
Sorry, weâre all out of that one, her imaginary waiter said with a touch of remorse.
Oh. Nothing, then.
Vivian closed the cabinet with a sigh, then moved to the fridge. At least that, she knew, had something for her. She shoved aside various containers and reached for the strategically-hidden orange juice carton in the back.Â
âJust to take the edge off,â she whispered, feeling the need to defend herself from the disapproving eyebrow raise her imaginary waiter was giving her in her head. She grabbed a glass from the pile of dishes in the sink, rinsed it, and poured herself a generous amount of the creamy, pale green liquid. I really need to get myself my own fridge.
She hooked her backpack over one shoulder, holding the precious glass of relief close to her chest, and darted up the stairs to the small attic space she called home with only one extra glance at her momâs closed bedroom door.
Vivianâs room was loud and crowded. The posters and artworks covering every inch of wall and sloped ceiling took up way too much visual space for the tiny room, but she liked it that way. Too much was always better than not enough, and she had plenty of not enough in her life already. When she opened the door to her room, it banged against her narrow desk and sent looseleaf fluttering to the floor.Â
Glass on the desk, backpack on the bed. Vivian changed out of her school clothes, which had been bothering her all dayâ nothing ever really fit her right anymore, but she didnât care. It was a small price to pay for the ability to experience happiness for a few hours. She grabbed her glass and flopped into bed.Â
She had homework, obviously: loads of it. Junior year didnât play around. But she didnât really feel like doing it right now. She pulled out her phone and scrolled through her notifications over the rim of her glass. Bellamy, Mara, comments on her posts, twenty messages from Skyeâ the usual. Vivian took a sip. Give it a minute, and the Elysium would kick in enough to give her the energy to actually respond to any of them.
For what felt like the thousandth time, Vivian sat back and closed her eyes, imagining what it would be like in less than a year, when she would finally be old enough to get out of this hellhole. An apartment all her own, far away from here. Safe from the silence that drowned out the sound of her own heartbeat.
Then a warm thrill surged through her core, causing her to giggle involuntarily. That was the Elysium kicking in. With Bellamy, it added.
Vivianâs smile came easily now. She threw back the rest of her glass. Yeah, with Bellamy. Skye wouldnât be old enough to move out for another three years, and besides, Vivian knew she wouldnât want to. But Bellamy would understand. Bellamy was the only one who really understood her. She would go with her in a heartbeat if she asked.
The dream revised itself now: not just her apartment. Bellamy would live with her, and sheâd never be alone again. Bellamy always noticed when Vivian felt off, asked her what was wrong and what she could do to help. Bellamy saw her. BellamyâŠ
Vivian glanced down at the pale green cream clinging to the sides of her glass. Bellamy worried about her. She knew Vivian didnât just drink on weekends anymore, and she knew the other reason Vivian wanted to get out so badly.
Elysium smoothed over the issue before Vivian could really think about it, and she let it. Bellamy would understand, it assured her again. She just needed it. It wasnât bad like Bellamy thought it was, and once they were living together Bellamy would realize that. Vivian nodded to herself. In less than a year, everything would finally be okay.

topaz does archery! he shoots compound at the local range
topaz also plays soccer and runs cross country
garnet loves woodworking and tinkeringâ most of what he does in his room is craft little gadgets
sapphire, jade, and peridot (and jade's bestie, torch (horrible influence btw)) have a complex "wolf code"â a code of wolf barks, howls, and growls that they made up to communicate over long distances when theyre heisting asdfkjh
peridot is a jack-of-all-trades artistâ he likes painting best, but dabbles in drawing, sculpting, and handcrafts like sewing and knitting
peridot is also a big music guy! constantly singing, has taken ballet but now does mostly tap, and wants to set up a little band one day with his friends
all the books mentioned in the story are other abandoned story wips my coauthor and i have started over the years :)
in a few drafts, we'd cut back to garnet's pov because he was left at home with ruby. it was mostly just to watch them bondâ garnet transformed her room into a play castle and it was freaking adorable
sapphire is that kid who is obsessed with making "potions" out of anything she can find. mud-leaf-stick-berry potions in the backyard in an old soda bottle are a staple, but her specialty is candy potions. dont ask about the Circus Peanut Incident
she also LOVES rocks. omg. if all she got were Neat Rocks for her birthday she'd be so so happy. "Neat Rocks" encompasses both weird-colored pebble found on the walk to school and cool expensive geodes shes not picky she will hoard all of them
garnet. notices. and remembers. everything. everyone knows they can go to garnet if they want to know where someone is, what theyre doing, or just catch up on the latest gossip
jade will also answer to hyacinth, which is the name of his oc in a longstanding imaginary game he plays with sapphire and a couple neighborhood kids

jade loves bananas and cilantro, which is one of the last remaining details from the very first draft. it stays as a sort of tribute to our ten-year-old selves :3

topaz is mildly colorblind! his specific type is tritanomalyâ he sometimes struggles to tell the difference between green and blue, red and purple, and yellow and pink. doesnt stop him from loving turquoise though loL
