Guess it’s time for another compilation of the fanart I’ve been doing these past couple months <3 Because I’ve done quite a bit since making this post. The first six are Check,Please! related (including a couple of Alternate Universe things like Chris Chow the goalie getting to play for his favorite team in the NHL, or the Samwell Mens Hockey team instead being a punk band called Soft Hands) Next three are some All for the Game characters and a preview of a comic that I did for a charity fanzine that comes out May 30th! Last piece is a sketchpage of two characters from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater <3

Ok so I’m here to talk about how ridiculously talented Bitty is on ice because the fandom forgets sometimes.

•Bitty switched from figure skates to hockey skates. This is SUPER HARD TO DO. (I asked a friend who figure skates competitively about how skating with hockey skates is different. She immediately said that it was extremely hard.)

•Bitty can do twirls in hockey skates. Again VERY HARD due to hockey skates not having a pick.

•Was the captain of his Junior hockey team for two years. He was made captain after TWO YEARS of playing hockey.

•Got an assist in his first College hockey game

•Scored the winning goal in his third game on a College team(also the only goal of that game)

•After that game he was switched from third line to first line.

•Was awarded the John Carlisle award at the end of his freshmen year(the award is given to the player who’s enthusiasm and dedication best shows team spirit)

•Struggled with the fear of getting checked but woke up at 4A.M. so he could get over this fear and stay on the team (yes he grumbles about it a fair bit but he also acknowledges that it helps him)

•He balances being on a varsity team and school fairly well and takes care of his teammates too.

•He does all of this before he’s 20.

In conclusion Eric Bittle is more than just a talented gay baker, he is a strong person who is extremely talented on ice. Thank you for your time.

The other day, audiaphilios in the chat was talking about wanting fic of Coaches Hall and Murray, and I got to thinking about this and it’s related:

Eric Bittle is attending Samwell on a hockey scholarship. The team is spending money to have Bittle on board.

He got this scholarship based on a tape which was half ice dancing.

And, in case you missed it: in Bitty’s first two years of hockey, Samwell came out of nowhere to make the NCAA playoffs twice in a row.

Like, you add all this stuff up, and … well, I think what you’re looking at is a tiny school - the kind of school that doesn’t pay its coaches a tremendous amount of money, the kind of school that can’t count on enormous alumni/ae funding to pay for scholarships - which has found itself a pair of coaches who are doing exactly what a school in that position needs to do: start with players that their competition cannot even imagine playing hockey, and train them into the best hockey players the NCAA has ever seen.

Coaches Murray and Hall didn’t pick Bittle’s name out of a hat. They didn’t recruit him for his pecan pies. They saw an incredible natural athlete with a lot of potential to be an asset to their team. And that’s what he is.

Samwell mens hockey’s favorite baker—and championship-winning senior captain—has graduated! How will the team survive? Problems abound as their new captain, Dex, learns that the effortless balance Bitty maintained on the team isn’t as easy as it looks. Then, ultra-aloof Nursey must finally drop his “chill” and get vulnerable in a senior poetry seminar. And to make matters worse, Chowder faces the dreaded ‘SSGS’ and is having the worst season of his college career. But when change arrives at Samwell hockey, it not only threatens to rip the team apart, but could destroy Dex, Nursey, and Chowder’s friendship forever. Before they graduate, to save their team and themselves, the three seniors must come together and ask the question: ‘What does Samwell hockey mean to you?’

ok sorry for going insane last night. except SIKE not really. anyways skip stanley cup kiss and zimbits stanley cup kiss happened the same year. this is not a joke both omgcp and hr had their kisses happen in 2017. insane.

anyways it is clearly not possible for both the falcs and the admirals to have won the stanley cup in the same year. and I think it actually makes a lot more sense for scott to come out after over a decade in the league rather than jack coming out in his first year. so skip kiss still happens, but zimbits kiss happens a literal year later. queer hockey fans are losing their minds. SCOTT HUNTER and JACK ZIMMERMANN are both gay stanley cup winners and have boyfriends who they kissed on the ice after their cup win. what universe are they in??

So hear me out on this one! So in baseball there are two major leagues: the American League and the National League. What if the NHL & MLH exsited like the AL & NL under the wider MLB umbrella? And their final cups are like bake to bake or something? Zimbits could have their kiss first which then helps push Scott over the edge to bring Kip out onto the ice to have their kiss?
