Elphaba: Fiyero, Boq, you're my friends and I like you but if I ever see either of you mistreat a book in any way again I am going to rip your heads off. Book are for reading and occasionally annotating, not standing on, or throwing, or using as props in impromptu dance numbers. And Galinda, I've never actually seen you damage a book but you've come pretty close so this threat applies to you too. Do I make myself clear?

There a lot of great things about How to Train Your Dragon, obviously. One of the best things about it is how little the books and the movies have in common. The plots are different, the characters are different, even a few of the themes are different. And they both have good, interesting characters and plots and themes. This means it's probably the only franchise where I can enjoy both book and movie equally because I enjoy them for different reasons and I'm not constantly comparing them because any comparison is surface level at best. It's kind of like creative writing class when all the students are given the same prompt but they all still come up with different stories based on the prompt.

Here's scene from my AVA fanfiction: In Case of Emergencies. Here is Agent reading a newspaper while waiting for the vet to clear Victim and Misti's sheep to go home while TCO reads the front and back of the newspaper and waits for the vet to be able to check on an injured coyote he brought.

AVA headcannon: The Color Gang has seen The Chosen One eat literally anything except stuff that's actually edible. The closest they've seen Chosen come to eating actual food was raw meat. At first they were rather concerned about this but then they decided it was doing about as much visible damage as Blue's Netherwart addiction and started either ignoring it or enabling it.

The pac-man mouth was also a bit of a jumpscare the first time they saw it.

AVA Theory

The Chosen One is the only stick who began fighting Alan immediately upon being created. All the others started out peaceful until given a reason not to be. Why Chosen did this is never actually explained. It might have something to do with what he's even chosen for. (Maybe he was supposed to be the one to get Alan to stop torturing stick figures but since he didn't that's why The Second Coming exists?) But that still doesn't fully explain the immediate aggression since the answer to getting Alan to be kind to the sticks was to make peace with him, not wreck his computer. However there is another stick figure who fought Alan in a very similar way to The Chosen One before TCO got a proper grasp on how all his powers worked and that stick was Victim and there was a moment when Alan was figuring out what to name TCO that he considered just making another Victim. And it's established that any Stick Figure named Victim is Victim and has all of Victim's memories. So, maybe for those few seconds that The Chosen One bore Victim's name he was Victim. Once he was named something else the memories probably went away but the impression of them was still there leaving TCO knowing three things. 1. His creator could and would hurt him. 2. He was imprisoned and needed to escape. 3. He had the power to fight back and reach freedom. So, he started fighting immediately. There also might just be something in his programming that causes him to want to fight since that seems to be a common interest for a lot of the main characters.

Or, how Wicked should have ended. Got possessed to draw this, figured it would be good practice for drawing humans. It's not in this picture but Dorothy, Fiyercrow, TinBoq, Brrr, Glinda, and Ozma are absolutely watching and doing nothing to stop this. (Actually, a few of them are actively supporting this course of action.) Fiyero even later recreated this event in a painting that became one of the most famous pieces of art in Oz. I listened to Somewhere Over the Rainbow while drawing this because the tonal contrast was funny.

Fiyero's parents: Fiyero, son, why did you use the family computer to Google "the government's trying to murder my girlfriend, what do?"

Fiyero: Because the government's trying to murder my girlfriend and I don't what to do about it.

Fiyero's parents: We get that part, what we're trying to ask is why is the government trying to murder your girlfriend?

Fiyero: Oh, right, well you see, she may have had some disagreements with a few people in the Emerald City and said disagreements may have escalated. You'll understand when you meet her.

When they meet her

Elphaba: *heard one stray comment and is now in an hour long rant about corruption and prejudice in Oz's central government during which she has stopped two assassination attempts without pausing her diatribe*

Fiyero: *has his sword out on the off chance that she needs help and is looking at her in total awe the way one would behold a hundred waterfalls*

Fieyro's parents: Yep, it all makes sense now.

Glinda: *Finds letter that mysteriously appeared on her vanity* "Dear Glinda stay away from the Emerald Palace tomorrow and convince everyone who isn't actively persecuting people to do the same. Sincerely, Elphaba." Well, that's not foreboding at all.

The following day

Breaking News: It appears the Wicked Witch of the West, the Traitor Prince Fiyero Tigulaar, and a band of Winged Monkey deserters hijacked a train in the early hours of the morning and somehow managed to crash it into the Emerald City Palace.

Glinda: *does a spit take and stares at the radio in shock*

Professor Kukui: Alright class, today we're gonna learn about the ruins of Pokelantis.

Ash: I've been there.

Professor Kukui: You have?

Ash: Oh yeah, I got possessed by evil spirits there. :)

Everyone else: ... huh?

Don't know where this came from but, yeah, it was just a funny idea I decided to draw. These poor main characters are trying to do plot relevant stuff but everyone's drama keeps getting in the way.

Fix it AU idea:

Anakin once told Ahsoka that the best way he knew to protect her was to teach her to protect herself. Following this logic Ahsoka concludes that the best well to keep the younglings safe in case of an attack is to make sure they're well armed. Naturally the Jedi at the temple don't agree with this and tell Ahsoka to stop giving literal children blasters, knives, bombs like it's candy and telling them to bite people. So, she decides to upgrade the Jedi temple's security instead without telling anyone other than the clones who she recruits to help. So now the Jedi Temple is basically the most heavily fortified building in Coruscant unbeknownst to the people living there which is a level of militarization that probably isn't the Jedi way but Ahsoka figured if Coruscant ever gets attacked (and it would be naive to assume it won't) the Jedi Temple would probably be one of the Separatists' main targets since if the Jedi have to protect the Temple they won't be able to protect the Senate. Ahsoka never tells anyone about this since she'd probably get in trouble if the Council found out so when Anakin and the mind controlled 501st goes to attack the Jedi Temple they have no clue about the booby traps and walk right into them which gives the Jedi Knights and Masters at the temple time to arrest them, figure out what's going on, evacuate, and get a message out to all the Jedi off world that haven't died to Order 66 yet explaining the situation. Granted this doesn't fix everything but it does mean the Jedi aren't entirely wiped out and have a chance to stop the rise of the Empire, Anakin doesn't murder all the Younglings, Anakin and Obi Wan never duel on Mustafar so there's still a chance to rehabilitate him and Padme probably survives giving birth just fine. All because the Jedi Council told Ahsoka not to give weapons to children.

In other words:

Every other Jedi: You gave the kids knives?!

Ahsoka: They told me they felt unsafe.

Every other Jedi: Well now we feel unsafe!

Ahsoka: Would you like some knives?

Anyone else remember that time Sunset in base normal human form crushed a lump of coal that may or may not have been real into a diamond with her bare hands to distract the audience from a prop failure during a high school play?

Headcannon: Sometimes Ahsoka just casually drops the most technically practical but incredibly concerning advice. Like:

Dying is not fun, avoid it when possible

Don't get framed for terrorism

Always be ready to defy the government

If you have to blow up a droid factory while you're still inside stay in the super tank until you're rescued to avoid getting crushed

If you go to Geonosis check for brain worms

When escorting Younglings to get Kyber crystals watch out for pirates on the way back

If your opponent has twice the light sabers you do proceed with caution

If you realize the Sith Lord currently trying to kill you is actually your former Jedi Master try to remain calm

Never take your eyes off the enemy until you're sure they're dead
