for a while people were dividing everyone into wordcels and shape rotators but in terms of function it seems like you either have a job to make numbers go up like tech engineering or finance engineering, or you have a job that is fundamentally immeasurable and unquantifiable like being an artist, with all the complaints driven by tying the latter category to quantifiable metrics (i.e. publishers demanding every author also be a social media influencer for clicks).

However, even that count is boosted because of Musk's companies, such as SpaceX, buying loads of the trucks to use as fleet vehicles. According to GoodCarBadCar, US annual sales of the truck were just 23,798 in 2024, with a slight increase to 25,771 in 2025. However, at the time of writing, just 9,000 units in total have been sold in 2026, and we are over halfway through the year.

Totally normal for a legitimate for-profit company to refuse to reclaim or stop running their products even after they're no longer being paid to do so. I'm sure it's very normal to just keep running your service for free when your contract's been terminated. Spending money to continue running cameras that supposedly no one is looking at is definitely not an indicator they are just run by the federal government to spy on everyone and only a wacko conspiracy theorist would think so.
