JUST B’s BAIN coming out changes K-pop history

After coming out he also gave a whole interview with Dazed.

One part was about a friend of his and I wanna highlight that.

Have you always been open with the JUST B members about your sexuality, and how did they initially respond?

BAIN: It’s been about two years since I came out to my members and the company. I first opened up to our member GEONU, sharing my struggles with my sexuality in a personal conversation. Later, there was a moment when all the members were together talking, and JIMIN – a friend of mine for nine years – suddenly asked me, ‘Bain, are you gay?‘. He added that if I was, he hoped I wouldn’t feel the need to hide it and could speak freely and comfortably with them. I honestly had no intention of coming out that day, but somehow, JIMIN’s words gave me the strength to speak up and be honest about who I am.

i’m loving all the SHINee content we’re getting. it was really nice seeing them together. what really made me emotional was SHINee constantly humming or singing Poet | Artist. i think there’s competition for who loves Poet | Artist the most.

I’ve just been sitting and wondering why Poet | Artist wasn’t included in Jonghyun’s Poet | Artist album. From the recording behind, this song sounds like it was made for Jonghyun. I don’t think he would’ve made the song so high if it was for SHINee. But then again it has such SHINee vibes so I’m not sure.

One thing is for sure that this song is unfinished considering he hadn’t got around to finishing the lyrics for the bridge. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t put in his album. Nevertheless, he is the Poet | Artist and it’s sweet to see him remembered like this.

Seeing the behind really made me appreciate Jonghyun’s musical prowess. He made a guide sound so good even though he wouldn’t have in as much effort as he would’ve for an actual song recording. And this song sounds so fresh and classy, not outdated at all despite having been made at least 8 years back. Jonghyun’s voice and work are truly timeless.

Basically I just really miss his voice. I hope we can get more of his songs in the future. I know they’ve got full albums of his on their drives. You are so loved Jonghyun.

i thought i’d cry through the recording behind but got distracted by shinee losing their minds while trying to follow jonghyun’s guide. he is poet | artist and i’m grateful we got to hear other parts of his guide. i wish they could release the guide too. i’ll take anything.

it was really heartwarming seeing shinee put their all into recording poet | artist as jonghyun would have. even though they did a wonderful job it was funny seeing them struggle. i wish they’d done recording behind earlier in their career, it would’ve been so much fun seeing jonghyun doing his producing and directing.
