I'm a bit confused at the end of repentance, can you explain please?
Hello, thanks for your ask! Let’s see if we can untangle the end.
The clothes and the smartphone probably give it away, the last two pages are set in our time, the story present, while the comic was set in the past, a few centuries earlier.Louis is genderfluid and while he presented as male during the main part of the comic, she recently presents as female, under the name Eloise Blanchard, which explains her different fashion style (well, aside from the different time area).
The other two guys you see in the last two pages are Michael and Gabriel, half-incubi, twins, lovers, and best friends with Eloise (Elo for her close friends).
The twins have their own naughty comic, “After Midnight”, which we posted before Repentance. You can find it, the most important warnings included, here.
“After Midnight” and “Repentance” are stories with characters from the same universe and in those two pages, their arcs cross. Basically, what happened is, sooner or later Louis continued his travels but he and Lukas stayed good friends. A few centuries later, she - now known as Eloise - first meets Michael and almost two decades later, Gabriel. Thanks to modern technology, it’s now possible for her and Lukas to keep contact a lot more easily and the twins (and we) just catch them having a conversation.
While it’s not mentioned (yet), she is also responsible for renovating the church and hooking Lukas up with a computer, smartphone, and wifi, but that’s part of another story that hasn’t been finished yet.
Oh, and here is that other story, in writing. It’s an unfinished rough first draft that continues the events of After Midnight. It focuses on the twins but in one part, we also meet our favorite will-o-the-wisp again.
We hope this clears the confusion. Let us know if you have any more questions!
