Lakewood SummerFest 2015
We had the opportunity of participating at this years SummerFest at Fort Steilacoom park in Lakewood. Thankfully the weather wasn’t scorching hot, it stayed cool and dry for us all day which helped make for a great event.

Whiplash injury란 운전중 차량이 급정지를 하거나 앞부분이 충돌할 때 혹은 차량이 정지해 있거나 주행 중 차량에 뒤 차량이 추돌하는 경우 경추(cervical)가 과하게 목이 갑자기 꺽기면서 발생되는 질병이다. 마치 채찍이 급히 흔들리는 것과 같이 목이 과격하게 흔들려 휘플래시 증후군이라고 불리우는데 관절과 디스크 혹은 인대가 파열되며 손상될 수 있다. 가벼운 교통사고라 할지라도 이후 나타나는 목, 어깨, 팔, 허리, 다리 통증 뿐만 아니라 두통이나 손 발 저림이 있다면 주의해야 한다. 이 휘플래시 증후군이생길 확률은 손상 후 즉시 또는 몇 시간, 며칠이 경과한 후 다양한 증상이 나타날 수 있으며 보통 두통과 어지러움을 또는 뻣뻣함…

Q: 교통사고가 나서 치료를 받고 싶은데… 상대방 잘못으로 판정이 났습니다. 근데 왜 제 보험을 먼저 써야되나요? 상대방 보험으로 써야 되는거 아닌가요?
A: 와싱톤주에서 자동차보험을 들게 되면 PIP(Personal Injury Protection)이라는 항목을 추가로 들 수 있습니다. PIP라는 증서는 매월 혹은 보험료 갱신할 때 추가로 지불되는 금액으로 별도로 들어 놓는 추가적 커버러지입니다. 따라서 사고 후 치료시 추가 페이한 PIP를 사용하지 않을 이유는 없다고 사려됩니다. 추후 가해 차량 보험에서 비용 변상을 하게 되기에 본인의 보험료가 인상되지는 않습니다.
