„as if it came out of memories of the Shire, some sunlit early morning,“
Another scene from The Two Towers!! 🍃
Watch me illustrate the entire LOTR series by accident 😭
Saw a post about how Sam and Frodo's love is the most consistent parts in all the variations and adaptations of lotr which is so incredible and objectively true
But also, you know what is the most spectacular thing about it? It's like that because it has to be. Because if you make it so Frodo doesn't love Sam, or so Sam doesn't love Frodo, the story crumbles, it stops being the Lord of the Rings, it ends the narrative fully.
You absolutely cannot, almost physically unable, to adapt Lotr while removing their love from the picture. It is the glue that holds the story, no, the whole Middle-Earth together, and without it those books, those movies, those musicals and retellings and illustrations, cannot exist.
Because Frodo that doesn't love Sam is unable to fight off the Ring and have that will that prevents him from ever actually hurting Sam. Because Sam that doesn't love Frodo wouldn't risk drowning just to go after him. Because Frodo that doesn't love Sam would no longer care about anyone around him. Because Sam that doesn't love Frodo wouldn't fight off the monstrous demon just to avenge for him. Because Frodo that doesn't love Sam can't go on with hope still in his heart. Because Sam that doesn't love Frodo is unable to joke in the walls of Cirith Ungol, and Frodo that doesn't love Sam is unable to laugh at it for the first time in mouths. Because Sam that doesn't love Frodo is unable to carry him to the top the Mountain by his will alone, and Frodo that doesn't love Sam would never accept such a gesture.
Because Sam that doesn't Frodo wouldn't vow to go with him to the end of the world and Frodo that doesn't love Sam would never make it to the Mount Doom.
You can make it so Merry and Pippin no longer exist, you can make it so Gandalf dies in Moria, hell, you can make it so Aragorn is no longer the heir of Gondor, but you absolutely cannot take out Sam and Frodo being in love. Because it is an integral part of the story. It is as important to the book as pages and as important to the movies as the cameras and as important to the musical as the song. Try as you might, you can't take it out.
And the will countine love each other, more than everyone ever loved one another, in every universe and in every adaptation, because the mere fact of adapting the story means adapting their love first and foremost. Or it is no longer the Lord of the Rings.
Frodo forgetting his own self upon Mount Doom. Forgetting the colour of grass and the taste of food and the lands of the Shire. Forgetting everything he ever was or could ever be. But remembering Sam's name. Remembering Sam.
And calling his name so often it pretty much came up every other sentence in that little speech of his. Do you know how much you have to love someone to forget yourself before you forget their name. Do you know how fucking insane this is.

hi again.
I think i owe you all an explanation.
I dissapeared from this blog in October of 2025 due to being locked out of my blog and presumed terminated as the result of a phishing scam. I have gotten it back now and I want to reassure everyone that it is the real me, the original owner of this blog.
If you have gotten a message from me between October 2025 and now on tumblr, that was not me. That was the same person who gained access to my account and tried to scam other people through it. I want everyone to know that I would NEVER try to do anything like that to anyone and I hope no one has had their blog taken away as a result of my poor judgement.
I am going to message anyone that has been contacted through my blog to notify them should they not see this post but im sorry that I couldn't come back sooner to try to stop this.
I am going to go through my asks on this blog and all my others and I will reblog this to all those blogs to spread the message surrounding my sudden disappearance.
Again, I am so so sorry to anyone that may have gotten a phishing scam message from this account and I promise you that that was not me. Remember that tumblr will never need to contact you from discord, that is a scam that I fell for because I was overly attached to my blog and was terrified of losing it. I don't wish what happened on anyone else.
If you still want to talk to me, I have a new blog with a new email I made a while ago when I thought this one was gone for good, @mayday-gayday. I would love to talk to any of you again that haven't found that blog already
Other than responding to any asks i have on this blog, this will be the last post I make on here as I have my new blog. It's been a pleasure having this and I wish you all the best.
Another little funky hobbit headcanon I have is that hobbits are VERY feral when they sense that their loved one(or loved ones) are in harm's way. Like I mentioned in my last post; they let out a disturbing call as a warning, using their teeth and nails as a sort of last resort if they don't have any weapons or if the danger is too strong. Despite their cute faces, and polite, humble nature; Hobbits can seriously injure people with their teeth if they so wish to(their teeth were designed to crack open nuts, rip through too tender or too rubbery meat with ease, and as a biological self defense system). Even though they do have this biological advantage, they don't use it due to believing they've moved past its original purposes as a society. Samwise, however, will not hesitate using his teeth and nails when it comes to Frodo. He gets especially feral when he senses Frodo is in danger(which explains the undying hatred towards Gollum).

I find i so weird when people say that their 9 year old cat is old, cus my cat is almost 18 years old and I forget how old she is compared to other cats..
Her name is Nininha <3
It’s a long track to Mordor
Long time no see, my burglar.
I'd like to add a couple headcanons for those who like to make hobbits funky and strange little critters(me n a few people). I like to think that hobbits can make haunting and spine chilling calls(think if a human scream, a dying cat, a dog bark, and nails on a chalkboard had a weird, gross baby) because WAY back than, they used them as a form of self defense due to their small size and lower speed. But nowadays, those types of calls are used for celebrations/ harvest festivals or if a hobbit is scared and anxious. Travelers who pass by the Shire during those situations are deeply horrified by them because they convinced themselves that beyond the fields and rivers, there are dangerous beasts warning them to stay away from their land. But meanwhile it's just a hobbit family just celebrating a birthday or a wedding.
just a good, simple hug 💘
宝宝敏…好萌……
Since Hobbits usually have lots of children, I think their death rate should also be a bit high?
Like– not all little fauntlings survive to their tweens, not all tweens get to see their future years. The younger a hobbit is, the more prone to danger they are.
Now, imagine the dwarfs all rolling their eyes at Bilbo when he tells a 'dangerous' story of his youth, them scoffing as he struggles to fall into step with them on their adventures. Then cut to them finding out just how EASILY hobbits die and suddenly they look at Bilbo with whole new eyes.
It doesn't help that apparently a young Bilbo was always throwing himself into dangerous situations for a hobbit.
(Even more hilarious if some suddenly treat him like he's made of glass and Bilbo is rapidly losing his patience and scolding them)
And may your pets always stay healthy ♡
