@bluetiggy-goddess
So i grew up playing Jak and Daxter and i was insanely in love with the whole series. Still am. But a good rule to remember is that you can always critique a thing you love and BOY do i have some critique for JnD when it comes to designing the main three women in the game. They had a type, and that type was midriff shirts and boob socks.
The designs for prominent women in the games did evolve gradually, from Maia’s bra made out of copper to Rayn’s boppin’ business look. And Keira DID get a new outfit finally in Lost Frontier but … we don’t apparently talk about that game. So they did get better, yes, but it doesn’t mean that the main trilogy doesn’t scream “early 2000′s character design”.
I gave a try at redesigning the main trio women from Jak 2 and 3 in a way that reflects their roles a bit better: Keira, a genius mechanic now looks like a mechanic and Ashelin got a glow up a city police captain deserves. Tess is the only one whos appearance fits both her bubbly personality and occupations we see her in - but i still wanted a trio so i gave her a spin and leaned into the weapons smith side of her.

An Open Letter to Tumblr about the Adult Content Ban and How it is Hurting Your Users:
Recently, Tumblr was removed from the Apple app store due to an incident involving child pornography. This incident is incredibly unfortunate, but it doesn’t stand alone. Tumblr was also removed from the app store due to the large influx of porn bots and pornographic spam, users claiming to be proud to be pedophiles, blatant Nazism, racists who are not deleted for sending hate and harassing users, and more. I myself reported someone for harassing me, but because I had blocked the person and couldn’t access the messages where they harassed me, they were still able to send me anonymous asks. Your support staff, with back doors to the website (presumably), claimed they could not access the messages, and I was left SOL. Many features on this website do nothing to actually protect your users from harassment, racism, homophobia, transphobia, Nazis, pedophiles, predators, porn bots, and more.
You claim in your statement to us that you “have been working on these problems for a long time”. This is blatantly untrue. Please do not lie to us and patronize us. We’ve been here. We’ve seen you do nothing over, and over, and over again.
We complained to you for months and months about the rampant porn bots, and you did nothing except add a report button on mobile which only reported sensitive content or spam at best. You could have addressed this problem with an effective algorithm, but you did not. We complained to you about being harassed and sent hate speech for being LGBT+, and you did nothing. We complained to you about blogs being randomly deleted, and sometimes you’ve restored them, other times you have not. We complained to you that there were people proudly claiming to be “Minor Attracted Persons”, or pedophiles, and you did nothing. We complained to you about people proudly claiming to be white supremacists, and you did nothing. All of these things are “against the community guidelines”, and yet over and over, you have not found effective ways to handle these problems or suppress the feeling of welcome that these users claim to get here. You have had a long time to work on these problems, but you haven’t addressed them. To say you have is untrue.
Multiple other social networking websites, such as Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and others have effectively dealt with rampant pornography, racism, pedophilia, and other problems without causing massive issues for their users who are not misusing the platform. They are continuing to find new, effective ways to deal with these issues without causing problems for their userbase as a whole. There is no reason that you are unable to do this effectively other than that you wanted to do it quickly. You have once again chosen your stock holders over your users. And we have had enough.
You have already started to ban “Adult” content with a new algorithm. Here are screenshots of just a fraction of the posts you have flagged as containing adult content:
Your new system of simply tackling everything at once is not working. At all. And each of these screenshots is proof of your utter incompetence. None of these posts contain pornographic acts, “female nipples”, or any community violation of any kind.
We, the users, have been asking you for months to deal with these problems - particularly, the porn bots and bots that spam. In order to block a bot from a side blog, I have to do it manually, even though they are in my side blog’s feed. This is a huge issue for mobile - only users. They keep cropping up in droves, taking over our posts and tricking google into making it look like a legitimate blog linked to a pornographic website. We have complained to you for months and months now, and your solution to simply “ban all adult content” is ineffective. I agree that children should not be able to access pornography - but this is not how you tackle a porn bot problem. Your system is utterly useless, allows for racists, pedophiles, porn bots, and Nazis to remain untouched. It also harms sex workers and real people who may use this website for some forms of adult content responsibly. Moreover, as seen above, it harms plenty of users who have in no way violated your terms of service.
If you keep this up, you threaten your website and company as a whole. Many of us are backing up our blogs and planning places to go to.
You already have a content filter for “sensitive” content (content inappropriate for younger viewers). You could have improved this, instead of attacking your entire user base. It seems to be a very lazy “solution”, if you could call it one at all, and one that harms your entire userbase.
If you are going to keep this filter in place and make Tumblr, a website that has never been known for being family friendly and has never claimed to be, you are going to lose millions of your users. We are already planning our exodus. It isn’t hard to follow. Censor us, and we will go somewhere else. That is not a threat. It is a promise.
Sincerely,
The users of your website.

They flagged this post immediately and I’ve submitted it for review… this is… quite a week.
If you believe these words, reblog it, please. I want this to be right in their face because I couldn’t email them directly.

It’s review time! Eldet demo v2 review!
At the beginning of the month, @eldet-development released an updated version of Eldet’s demo, two years after the initial one that was launched for the project’s Kickstarter. This update brought quite a lot of neat changes, which I will talk about in a little while.
Eldet is a medieval fantasy, LGBT+ visual novel by Marccus Ehren, in which you play as Kunal, a young man who, after years of studying magic and yet not having awakened any magical ability, decides to work with a mysterious duo of “tomb raiders” who require a mage for their explorations. Along the way, Kunal meets a variety of characters, some of which he can befriend or romance.
Characters
Kunal is Eldet’s player character. A man in his early-20′s from a family of famous mages who studied magic for 16 years, yet was never able to actually use magic. Kunal’s personality will be shaped by your choices throughout the game, but he starts out green and quite unsure of himself and his abilities. He can act charming, cunning or intimidating depending on the dialogue options.
Since demo V2, you can customize Kunal’s hair, body, and pronouns, which impact every CG or sprite he/they appear in.
Aadita is a close friend of Kunal’s and studies in the same college as him. She expresses deep concern over Kunal’s safety in his imminent journey, yet still respects his decision, lends him her mage stone, and helps him teleport to southern Andalusia where he meets…
Tariq is the man who offered Kunal to work as a mage for his tomb explorations. He is a cunning, cultivated man who has worked for years with his sister into this whole tomb raiding business. Tariq appears friendly and welcoming at first, but he seems to hide something, and will act cold should Kunal press the issue.
Kahina is Tariq’s sister and just as well-versed in exploring tombs as he is. Unlike him, she’s blunt and straight-to-the-point, and doesn’t seem very enchanted by Kunal’s recent recruitment. Kahina seems to have her own secrets and motivations, separate from her brothers’.
Faaron is a gigantic Elven mercenary hired to keep the group safe during their journey. He never says a word throughout the demo (all of his lines are “…”!), yet seems quick to concern himself over Kunal’s well-being. He’s kind of like a big, pointy-eared teddy bear.
We don’t know much about Akwasi, aside from the fact that he’s Tariq’s brother and that Tariq hates his guts. He seems intrigued by Kunal, and apparently carries a mage stone like him– despite not being a mage himself.
Writing and characterization
As you can see, Eldet features quite a diverse cast, and that’s just the beginning. Not only there will be characters from various races, ethnicities, but Kunal will be able to meet and possibly romance nonbinary characters as well.
Now, one major complaint I hear about inclusive games is how some creators seem to content themselves with making their cast diverse, but yet forget to work towards making the plot actually intriguing and making said characters grow throughout the story. While you can’t say much from a demo about the latter, I was pleasantly surprised by how colorful, and yet three-dimensional each introduced character in the Eldet demo was.
Perhaps the most interesting character in this demo is Tariq, who display two dramatically different sides of himself You just can’t figure the man out with just one set of choices, and I found myself going back to previous saves to see how he would respond to Kunal’s different dialogue choices. Tariq blows hot and cold with Kunal, warmly welcoming him into his group one moment and in the next leaving him to face an incoming scary situation, confusing him greatly.
Faaron, on the other hand, is quite fun to interact with. He doesn’t say anything, and he doesn’t seem fluent in Kunal and Tariq’ language, which leads to some awkward, yet amusing interactions. Yet you can say his various actions and attempts at helping Kunal speak for him and hint at a “gentle giant” personality.
With that said, I’d like to point out how gorgeous Eldet’s backgrounds are, some of which are animated:
Animated trees!
Animated waterfall!
Animated magic circle! (+ cool pillars)
The animations look simple, but they further add to the immersion into Eldet’s universe. A nice bonus to already gorgeous hand-drawn backgrounds.
That, plus everything I said earlier, plus the zillion different sprites each character has depending on the scene and clothes they wear, plus the fact that Marccus has been working on Eldeton his own since the beginning –writing, illustrating and composing each soundtrack– shows just how much work and love was poured into this project.
That level of dedication is quite humbling, but at the same time, a little terrifying.
In conclusion… I’m not going to lie, this is the most beautiful VN I’ve played all year, and this is only the demo. Eldet not only aims to be inclusive but also feature a variety of complex, charismatic characters and an engaging story with a solid prose that is a pleasure to read. We haven’t met half of the cast but all the introduced characters were interesting in their own ways, and I look forward to reading Kunal’s exciting people-meeting and tomb-raiding adventures.
On top of the gargantuan workload that illustrating and programming the game implies, my major concern for the full game will be the writing, which I hope, will stay consistent. I’m weak for good writing, more than good art.
If you haven’t backed Eldet’s Kickstarter, you can still support Marccus on Patreon if you like. The available reward tiers are much cheaper than they should be, but even $1 would be appreciated.
And that closes this review. Thanks for reading! :D

I know some people might not care about this. I know some people think this is to complicated. And I know some people think this won’t affect them. But here’s the thing, IT WILL definantly effect you no matter where you live. It will effect you tumblr user, you reddit users, and you watching youtube.
If this law gets passed then it’s gonna inspire the rest of the world. It was just like how in the USA.
The video is barley sixteen minutes and less if you skip ahead.
IT IS THE TRANSLATED AND SIMPLE VERSION OF ARTICLE 13’S IMPLICATIONS
Don’t have time to watch? Then just reblog. It takes two seconds on phone and two clicks on a computor
LISTEN UP
I’m American. I live right in the southwest and let me tell you, it’s hell over here right now, but it will become a lot worse if Article 13 is passed.
You’ve probably heard about Article 13, and if you haven’t, go watch this video right now. Whatever you’re doing can wait for sixteen minutes and two seconds, because a second-long vote could destroy everything online.
Whether you’re from Europe or not, this law could affect you, so you should care Article 13 because it is going to destroy the online lives that you have built. No more posting memes, no more remixes, and no more YouTubers from anywhere.
Jacksepticeye will no longer be able to upload.
Markiplier will no longer be able to upload.
MatPat won’t.
Thomas Sanders.
Dan and Phil.
How to Basic.
All of your favorite content creators are at risk of losing their jobs because people want stricter laws on copyright, which will support the larger media companies but kill smaller creators. And because of this, we may lose everything online.
So spread the word! Reblog this, reblog other people’s posts, find petitions, write your own posts! If you’re in Europe, contact your MEP’s and get them to understand how it will affect the people who use the internet.
Please.
#savetheinternet.
EVERYONE PLEASE LISTEN. DO NOT IGNORE THIS.
Article 13 is going into it’s final stages of voting.
If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr.
THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES.
IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES.
WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR.
So here is what you need to do to drag this article down.
1. Spread the word
I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down.
2. Make your own content
Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved.
3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs
Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD.
The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people.
Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.”
We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post.
FREE SPEECH IS A HUMAN RIGHT. NOT A PRIVILEGE.
Here’s a video on Article 13 that Film Theory made on the matter. It will explain things better than I can.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GbXHrj8k7dg
THE VIDEO LINKED IS FROM YESTERDAY (24/11 2018) THIS IS ALL FRESH PLEASE SPREAD!
To my fellow ‘mericans that don’t understand Article 13 and why it’s important, watch the video. MatPat breaks is down in a very easy way to understand why it’s important and why it will affect all of us. You might think “naw, I’m not in the EU, doesn’t matter to me” (which is a crappy way of looking at it in the first place) but guess what, it will.
Also, I feel like people are pushing the importance of this to memes, but honestly it goes SO well beyond that.
With the whole purge thing, did we lose anyone in the Jak fandom??
kinda feels like we should all sound off
Not sure if I technically count at this point, but reporting in, cap’n!
WEIILA OF COURSE YOU DO ;A; <3
Dawww ^_^ <3
Still here, thankfully =p unfortunately my last post of Sig seems to have been missed by folk since I posted it like just a day before all this bs happened XP
