There are so many things going on with this shoe that take me back to being a kid and wanting the brightest craziest shoes on the shelves. Pink on a black upper, raised detailing, glow in the dark sole, a hint of purple and that really cool clear blue plastic on the back...this is the shoe that has it all. I'm not really sure why JB aren't re-releasing the Columbia XIs. I know they could change their mind between now and production, but this is apparently confirmed already (19 days into the new year, we're still over 11 months away from release). But apparently, we're set to get a brand new Jordan XI this year in a Laney High School colorway. I'm all for it - in fact would prefer it over the white patent of the Columbias. It's just an interesting change of pace. And a better idea to do something new instead of that crazy rumor surrounding another Space Jams release! As well as this we're due to see a retro of the XII "Taxi" and X "Steel" which should make some 'heads happy. Pic lifted from Sneaker News.

One thing I really like about the AF1 line is the fact that they're never afraid to do something with them. They're 30 years old, a staple in the Nike portfolio and there's always a little room to move with designs. And not just because they've already 'done it all' either. These are a good example of that. They look like they'd cater to a slightly more alternative look than that of a regular AF1 wearer, and I dig that a lot. Pic lifted from Sneaker News.
