There are also Android-based alternatives like GrapheneOS and LineageOS, which are pretty easy to install. These are unfortunately available for a more limited range of devices (Graphene is ironically Pixel only, while Lineage supports more), but it's very worth checking out whether one of them might work for your phone.

Typing this from Graphene now, in fact. But, both of those take the Android Open Source Project, without all the bloatware--and largely de-Google the whole thing. They give you much more control over privacy and what the apps you choose to install can do and access on your phone.

I know Graphene sandboxes everything, including the optionally installed Google Play Services which a lot of apps unfortunately require to run. (Lineage uses an alternative to Play Services instead.) So, you can install what would normally be unacceptably intrusive apps and just lock them away from pulling any funny shit with your data, or phoning home. Including the couple of Google things I do still keep around.

I also prefer running much more transparent, privacy-respecting open source apps where possible. Besides the transparency, I'd rather avoid the shitty tech corps entirely where I can. There are pretty good alternatives available for a lot of the usual suspects.

Who is it too late for? Late relative to whom, random others? Is the desire to do it not enough for you to try?

Even master musicians start off as clueless as you are right now. Be they some young prodigy or some middle-aged nobody, both ultimately have the same capacity for making art. The only difference right now between you and them is their willingness to begin and your hesitance to try - and once you begin, the only difference then will be how far you're willing to push yourself to learn and further bridge the experience-gap.

Making art for yourself is ultimately an additive experience, it builds on itself. Be it gaining experience, learning your personal proclivities, acquiring skills, seeing new perspectives - you only gain in trying. And if it ultimately ends up being not for you, then now you know, but it won't ever be for starting 'too late'

On this day one year ago, I was fired from Crumbl Cookies because my grandfather suddenly died and I cried when I found out and was on the clock. They make you sign a waiver to not talk about the recipes that lasts one year after your termination. Well guess what babes. That day, is today. RIP Nanu, you’ve been missed. My biggest pet peeve is when people exclusively read MTMTE and Lost Light when it comes to the IDW comics. IDW has SO much more to offer and it's such a wonderful experience to get the whole scope of the continuity

There are just so many other interesting stories to explore in general. Needlenose's conflict with his brother Tracks after his conjunx endura died... Arcee learning how to love... Prowl and Optimus' fallout... the entirety of the wreckers... SHOCKWAVE'S ENDGAME HOLYSHIT. I could go on.

If you see this PLEASE take a look at some other comics. And I don't mean this in a "If you don't do this thing you're a fake fan and don't understand the franchise☝️" way. I was thinking quite a lot about attaching some of my music here but really. In my experience. It’s better to read with no music at all rather than having something annoying playing on background and distracting you.
