lucavalentine:
luca looks up from his phone, and he swears he could feel his heart pause mid-beat when he sees her. it’s been a usual reaction lately, one that reeked of familiarity and one he has become accustomed to. “blanche!” he greets enthusiastically, his phone immediately slips into his shorts and it takes a moment for him to realise that she’s distracted by something. or more accurately, someone. his gaze immediately drops to her notepad, trying to decipher what she’s writing before looking back up towards her subject. eyebrow pucker together, mild confusion contorting his features and his green irises settle back on to her. “what are you writing?” luca inquires.
she’s glad to find she sat down next to someone who won’t distract her too terribly — luca’s the perfect companion when she needs to write — and her lips lift in a small smile at the sound of his voice. "notes,” she replies, blue hues torn from her subject as she meets his, taking in the gift of a boy beside her. “i mean, just look at him,” again she nods her head towards her subject, though her eyes remain on luca. the man is now sipping red wine from a glass, a jane austen novel open in the sand beside him. “nothing he’s doing fits. who brings wine and jane austen novel to the beach during a festival? especially someone like him. it’s fascinating.” turning her attention to her notebook, she jots down a few more notes until she’s satisfied, closing it and setting it on the beach beside her. “i mean, that’s why i came out here — to find subjects.”
