I got my math results back a couple of days ago and I still can’t believe it. Well... I passed and my prof even asked me to be a math tutor. Best start to my first uni exams.
But I’m already studying for the next exam: chemistry

Long time no see, okay no ones actually follows this blog but still.
I have since finished my apprenticeship and now I’m officially a lab assistant.
In November I started university to become a pharmacist, we‘ll see how that goes haha. First exam is math next week, already struggling
How to live your *BEST* life during quarantine : achieve your goals from the comfort of your home!
So.. Schools are closed, everything is basically down and you’re up to at least 2 weeks of quarantine. You’ve bought your toilet paper, made your pasta stock (no penne lisce of course, who tf eats them anyway?!), completed 30 levels of CandyCrush and now you may be wondering… What the hell will I do during this whole time??
Well… I got you covered. I’ll just make a couple of articles on how to help YOU to make the best of this homestay! side note : this may be the first and the last time that you can save the world from your couch, so be happy about it : we’re living a historical moment!).
First things first : MAKE A LIST. If you don’t stop one moment and think of everything you need to do, you’ll end up doing basically nothing, and this is why SUMMARIZING what you need to do can help you have a clearer vision : What are your top priorities (school work, job/college applications, deadlines, thesis, etc.)? What are your other priorities (exercising, cleaning the house, doing your laundry, washing your hands, feeding the cat…)?
Now that you’ve listed your work/home obligations you have 2 choices : either you have so much workload that you’ll basically only do this (and this quarantine will rather look like an exam session => I’ll write a 2nd article on how to study efficiently at home) OR you have still plenty of free time !
Which leads to asking yourself what are the things you’ve always wanted to do/improve/try but never had the motivation/time to? The examples are infinite : finish a book, start a blog, declutter, meditate more, journaling, etc..
Once you’ve made your list, you can PLAN your days. It doesn’t need to be super serious like a study plan but just knowing what you’ll be up to each day will make you less anxious and the time will pass faster.
Last thing : don’t forget to CHILL ! As I said, it’s the first time you won’t feel guilty about staying at home! So keep some time apart to watch your favorite TV show, enjoy precious moments with your family, sleep, and take care of yourself.

Allerede fra neste år vil regjeringen forby engangsbestikk i plast, plasttallerkener, sugerør og q-tips.

So my laboratory internship will start next week, and to keep myself motivated I wrote a to do list for the next 20 weeks.
Next to writing summaries and memorising test principle, I also want to keep practising my norsk and hopefully finally start Arabic on Duolingo *fingers crossed*

Ich gehe nach oben in mein Zimmer. Werfe mich auf mein Bett. Die Luft ist warm und voller Staub. Strecke mich nach einem gelben Garnknäuel und zwei Stricknadeln, die auf der Decke liegen. Beginne, die Maschen aufzunehmen. Fühle, wie das Garn durch meine Finger kriecht. Die Stricknadeln klirren. Unter mir höre ich, dass Papa den Fernseher angeschaltet hat. Dass eine Frau schreit, dann einen Schuss, ein wenig geheimnisvolle Musik. Ich werfe mein Strickzeug auf den Boden, gehe raus ins Bad. Wasche mein Gesicht unter dem Wasserhahn, putze die Zähne. Have to study for Cytopathology, I really could care less right now. Especially because i don’t see anything under the microscope.
I’d rather learn norsk but I just can’t get myself to procrastinat with norsk, and because I don’t want to do cytopathology, I just do nothing🤷🏼♀️

I see a lot of people who tell young people–especially young people who are heading into college–that they should “do what they love.” And they’re right. You should do what you love.
But there’s a world of difference between doing what you love for you, and doing what you love for a paycheck.
I went to undergrad for graphic design and 3-D design–art and more art, I usually say–and I loved it. You know what I didn’t love? Trying to collect my fees from clients. Trying to meet unrealistic, over-simplified or over-specific briefs from people who didn’t know what they were talking about. Coming home, having worked creatively all day, with no creative juice left for the things I wanted to do.
You know what I would tell you instead? Do something that you can be interested in, with people you like.
You don’t have to love it. Loving your work can be a lot, and it often means you have to live in your job 24/7. Some people can do that. Not everyone can, or should. But if you can find work that’s interesting enough that it doesn’t feel tedious, and people you can enjoy spending your 9-5 with, and you can make money, that’s great! It means you can do the things you love for you.
I’m in law school now. It’s interesting work, and difficult, and I like doing it. I like how complicated it gets, and I like the stories it tells. But I don’t come home and read law journals for fun. I come home, and I sculpt, and I draw, and I paint, and I read. I do these things for me.
And I love it.
Gods I wish I’d had this ten years ago when everyone was pushing for me to do art for a living. Probably wouldn’t have burned out as hard as I did

The last two weeks were kinda uneventful, bc one group of our class had IT things with excel and laptops and the other had Parasitology. My group started with IT and it was sooo boring, but now we have the parasites and that is way more my thing.
This buddy above is a echinococcus granulosus, you can clearly see his mouth (rostellum) and his four suckers. I think he looks cute, clearly the more better looking one of the parasites I have seen so far.

So Ive finished the norsk tree on duolingo yayy🥳
Im still nowhere near a good A2, but because I won’t start a new language yet I have plenty of time to keep on practising on duo and maybe start norsk on memrise.
And hopefully the Arabic course will be released in beta soon, so I can start a new course and then the french course and then the Italian course and I saw a Latin course is in the making.... 😏
