it seems as if we’re swimming in the ocean, me trying to catch up but seamlessly fail as you continue to berate me that i’m too slow and it isn’t acceptable, but then the tides grow calmer every stride. We’re in a pool now, and you say you can reach the bottom and I can do it too, but by the time I reach the surface, you covered the pool with a net and i get tangled up in it. You say I should’ve known that you were going to close the pool, I say you didn’t see me reach the bottom. You say it doesn’t matter and life isn’t like that. Tangled up in the pool made me regret asking you to swim with me in the first place. It was my fault for thinking you’d swim with me, I should have thought you’re always going to wanna be three strides ahead. It was stupid to think you were different in water than in land, you’ll always be the same.
