i honestly think that acknowledging that yelena and bob's dynamic is the heart of the movie and has a romantic framing and seeing just how profoundly romantic it is does the movie infinitely more justice bc it's actually very challenging to accomplish that level of evocative and symbolic romantic storytelling while remaining tasteful and subtle.

they did not just find the answer through each other, they found the answer in each other. the answer that was visually presented throughout the movie when yelena caught bob from falling with her web, when she tied bob to her torso, when their necks were were tightly tied together---they stay and stick together.

and the credits song "nothing's gonna stop us now" by starship really speaks to boblena's whole story in the movie!

so Bob agrees to be a human lab rat because he believes his only worth as a person now is to be a glorified test dummy to advance science, he's stuffed in a box then wakes up with a gun to his head and immediately almost dies but still doesn't blame any of that on the people who put him in the box or the people with the guns, meets the first person in what feels like forever who asks if he's okay because they genuinely care about him, and he immediately sacrifices himself for them, oh his hero complex is SO fucked up. I need five more movies

I just finished rewatching the Avengers. I hate how much Maria Hill was sexualized. She did not need those heals or outfit to be a shield agent.
