Coronation Street Live 2015; Review
ITV’s Coronation Street once again went LIVE on Wednesday night to celebrate 60 years since the channel first came to air, Here I review the episode.
(The LIVE episode title card)
The episode was completely live from the Opening Credits right through to the end, something that EastEnders don’t do, but Emmerdale did infact do this for the 40th live.
The first scene of the Episode was one of Corrie’s longest serving characters, Sarah, played by Tina O’Brian, and shared by Sean Ward who plays Bad Boy Callum Logan in the soap.
The episode continued right from where it left off and got off to an incredible good start, Sarah was trying to record everything Callum said, but a phone called ruined that when Callum found out leading to a fight between Sarah and Callum...
Fearing for her life Sarah tried several times to make a desperate get away with Tina o’Brian proving why she should be on Britian’s best loved street, in a shock twist, Callum was knocked dead, by is ex girlfriend Kylie!
To be fair, to me it wasn’t really a “Shock twist” but i did expect him to be killed off during the live, I just expected it to happen much later on in the episode, the rest of the episode featured on David, Kylie and Sarah teaming up and trying to figure out what to do with Callum’s dead body.
What did they do? they shoved him down a big wet dark hole, the best place for drug dealing scum bags like Callum.
The rest of the episode featured Lloyd and Andrea’s leaving party, except they returned the next day for two more episodes, simply to have one last day with Steve, as the actor wasn't featured during the live episode due to personal problems.
There was a nice touching tender moment with Roy as he decided to move on from Hayley, although Hayley will ALWAYS be his true love he will never forget her, he shared a moment of passion with Kathy on a broken down bus outside Roy’s Rolls, Cute or what?
Sally’s relationship was on the rocks when Anna Windass revealed to Tim that Sally has snogged Kevin, Ooops! They are expected to marry in coming week’s but will they make it down the Isle?
The episode on a whole went without any ACTING FLAWS but the technology did let it down for around two seconds when a mic failed during a scene with Tim and Craig in the Kebab shop, other than that the whole episode was FLAWLASS.
Well done to the Corrie team, and of course the cast!
