BodeCal Week 2026 Information

Welcome to BodeCal Week! This is a fandom week dedicated to the the relationship we love to mourn, be they lovers, enemies, friends, or some horrible and, let's be honest, totally canon combination of the three.

We will be holding BodeCal week from Sunday, March 15th through Sunday March 22nd this year, and we hope to see all sorts of fanworks during that week and beyond!

The prompts for BodeCal week will be as follows:

For @bodecalweek I wrote 6 fics covering 6 days for a total word count of almost 13K

For Day 1 I wrote The tongue of a man is tied on this

In a different world it is Trilla Suduri — Jedi Knight and rebel — who Bode is tasked with befriending. However she does not trust easily. Seducing Cal Kestis is the obvious solution; but the red-head has his secrets too.

For Day 2 I wrote who is the lamb and who is the knife

This time Bode realizes what is happening. He killed Cal; he's stuck in a loop of betrayal and thrice now he's killed his best friend. His second chance at love dead by Bode's hand.

Or: Bode keeps killing Cal on Jedha. He just wants it to stop.

For Day 4 I wrote In the Tapestry of Fate (our threads will always tangle)

They're sitting in the garden, watching the sun rise over Koboh's bluffs. Cal is a warm weight on Bode's shoulder, the Jedi slouched comfortably against Bode's side. If Bode doesn't think about Tanalorr, about the ISB, about anything it could a perfect moment.

"Bode," Cal says, voice soft as the early morning sun. "Do you think we're best friends in every life?"

Or: A pattern is explored.

For Day 5 I wrote Circles of Gold

The best day of Cal Kestis' ends with him winning an Olympic gold medal. The second best day ends with an invitation to dinner.

For Day 6 I wrote Once Upon a Dream

Cal has been asleep for two weeks and Bode is running out of hope.

For Day 8 I wrote all fire (and the wrong kind of love)

Cal’s life is perfect. He couldn’t ask for a better job at the Jedi temple, a better his future Padawan, or a partner.

So why can’t Cal shake the feeling that something is wrong?

Hey Evie, are you okay? Yeah no, no I'm fine.

I was just thinking about how Bode never joined any field missions on Jedha. So Cal is the one that brought these back to the base.

Gave them to Bode. Put them in his broad hands and let the lingering touch of his fingers say everything.

Say, 'Even in the midst of all this death, this endless carnage, this insatiable war, there is hope. There is hope because your daughter has your eyes, and I'll bet she has your heart too. There's hope because when you smile at me I wonder what it might be like, to be more than what I am. More than the blade and the blood and the big, empty ache in my chest. You smile at me and my thoughts turn soft and wanton, wandering futher and futher afield from this life, and dreaming of the next. It's a smile that could power a thousand ships. Just one weary heart will do, though. And, if you'll let me, I'll give whatever broken pieces of me are left to make sure that smile makes its home on your daughter's face. That she wears it like a blessing when she inherits a free world.'

But yeah other than that, I'm swell.

Cal needs a few days before he can face what lies on his workbench. He can’t face the memory he knows is etched into it, not right away.

The Mantis isn’t going anywhere, though, so Cal is content to leave it, to shake off the sparkling dust of Tanalorr for the more prosaic dust of Koboh, to leave that memory alone for a while.

But like all echoes, Cal is drawn to it. He can only brandish his sabers at the remnants of Rayvis’ raiders for so long before he has to come home and face it. Face it, or destroy it, and Cal is strangely unwilling to do that.

So he returns to the Reach, takes a little too long in the actual water ‘fresher in his basement room in Pyloon’s, and heads into the ship, past the potolli weave and the galley and the living spaces and his tiny bunk, until he stands in front of the engine, purring gently in rest mode.

Cal stares at the broken thing on his workbench, his fingers straying toward the echo without much of his say-so. Instead of the sky-soft blue he’s used to, this echo is tainted with the reddish tendrils of the Dark that have haunted Cal since he lost control on Nova Garon. No surprise, really, given how the blaster had been used, last.

He leans against the workbench, blows out a breath. No sense in waiting any longer. The echo won’t stop calling him until he senses it, and he can’t destroy it. Not if he wants to—

Cal touches Bode’s broken blaster, and remembers.
