The Amber Horde and various characters and companions from Mooshu are based off of Genghis Khan’s empire that ravaged and conquered most of Asia and parts of Europe beginning in the 13th century and continuing for a few centuries. It all began with a guy named Genghis Khan, originally known as Temujin, who rounded up the nomads in Mongolia and began to travel south. If the name Temujin sounds familiar, it’s because he is an Amber Horde companion that you can buy from the Crown Shop:
The Mongols were fierce nomads who were skilled horsemen (hence the reason why all Amber Horde characters are horses) and archers. They looked like this:
As the top one shows, they wore fur coats and helmets and had distinguished facial hair. The Pirate101 characters are clearly modeled in the same fashion:
As mentioned before, the Mongols conquered most of Asia and created a vast, lasting empire. Genghis Khan pronounced himself the “Khan,” meaning emperor, or king. Interestingly, when you fully level up Subodai, he takes on the title of “Khan” as well:
This is a reference to the fact that being a Khan is the highest position that anyone in the empire could have held. After Genghis died, the empire kinda split up; his sons and grandsons continued to rule in his place, but the empire was so large that they had to divide it up to fully control the areas, or “khanates”:
It is at this point in history that Mooshu takes after. With the emperor overthrown by the Mongols, China and Korea (which Mooshu is directly modeled after) are left in disarray. In the game, the emperor is currently incapacitated, leaving the Amber Horde to ravage a divided Mooshu. Additionally, the names of the different khanates can be seen in the game; the character Lord Chagatai (though he is not a part of the Amber Horde) takes his name from the Chagatai Khanate (seen above in orange):
And also, the Amber Horde is named after the actual Golden Horde, with just a synonym separating the two’s names.
im out of the loop because i dont feel comfortble currently like posting most of the fanart i do as often for fandoms im in as i used to, but seeing them engage with mr beast... but do the wizard101 devs/kingsisle in general even engage with community members? like whats the point of biting for attention from..someone outside of the community who doesn't even appreciate the game for what it is.
You're really going to try and beg for attention from a youtuber who wants wizard101 to be """""modern""" and """"matured up"""" to be deemed enjoyable ????????? Shouldn't you try like..an influencer who *actually* likes the game?

You enter the grounds of Ravenwood Academy. The air is light with morning mist and you can feel the distinct hum of magic that is entwined with everything all around. You are surrounded by both the chatter of students and creatures alike. Sunlight pours in from in between the clusters of leaves of the canopy overhead. You follow the boughs to a great tree in the center of it all. Bartleby, the Grandfather Tree. The Father of the Spiral, Keeper of the World Gate. The Spiral is yours to explore, young Wizard.

Wizard101 is my comfort game and is what my name for my online persona, Iridian Dreamweaver, is created from. I've been obsessed with this game since I was kid. It gave me a love of magic, whimsy, and thematic/ambient worlds. The soundtrack and visuals bring me so much joy.
You know that one part in the puppet show where Rooke shows up in Polaris? Dunno if he was actually there to end the war in canon, but man do I love to think about that, honestly wish they talked more about The Armada’s involvement in the war, and really what Kane was up to whilst rising to power during that time. Oh the lore we could have gotten dude…

Artist's notes and progress:
Wolf loves bugs, even has a special interest in them. Despite all of this, moths are disgusting to him. Something about the fuzziness and chirps freak him out.
The reality is that Wolf is terrified of change, things out of his control, leaving oneself vulnerable in relationship with others. An odd thing considering his affinity to life magic and values rooted in community. The subconscious mind, as revealed by one's shadow, is a interesting place and at times, hard to face.
Through this relationship, it matters so much that the Young Wizard faces themselves to draw power from their shadow.

you guys don't mind if i get conceptual, right...
i can’t wait for phule’s el dorado tour guide arc. which is totally a thing that’ll happen. i wanna explore with him around the spiral under the impression he knows where the rest of the map pieces are. and then i wanna Finally get to el dorado. after Hours of work. only for phule to turn around and be like. “oh yeah i was here last week btw. yeah. i actually knew how to get here the whole time, yeah. yeah i did that thing kane did, yeah. . Yeah the whole map collecting part of our quest? completely unnecessary. Yeah. anyways. so im like a princess here” and then i’ll chuck a huge rock at his head and start viciously making out with him
i’d like to do these sketches more justice in the future. but for now uh... on amber being the color of phule's energy.. . . . i had the trajectory of my life changed thinking about him doing that one c3po strip tease.
so.
IVE ALWAYS IMAGINED HIM TO BE MORE WOODEN. AND DOLL-LIKE. WITH FABRIC PERMANENTLY BUILT INTO HIS MECHANICS BUT. I DONT KNOW !!! MY HANDS MOVED ON THEIR OWN!!!!! i had One thought knocking around my skull, and it was phule maintenance. i NEED to get in between his gears i NEED TOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUHHHHHHH.
in a hypothetical world, i like to imagine there’s a phule out there embedded with some portion of kane/el dorado material. i want to believe that sacrifice fundamentally affects how they both function. i want that hypothetical world to debilitate them BOTH. i want them BOTH resentful.
i don’t think kane could salvage a whole Body’s worth of material from leftover dorado reserves. but. him wanting to make his inner court naturally expensive with your everyday, run-of-the-mill gold just to abandon the idea with phule because it was too malleable/made him too susceptible to damage is another cool concept to me.
cool in the sense that i want phule’s position in the armada to feel more intensely altered/accidental. he was built with vague, INSPIRED purpose in my head… because i view kane as very emotionally driven despite the apathy that runs (cough ran cough. lmao. rip bozo) his actions.
it’s the kind of drive that would have intensified the resentment kane felt for his “failure” while also ensuring he’d be too fond of its origins to see it destroyed. (consider. also. that scrapping phule would have been its own embarrassing show of hand. emotion-wise)
like i want more emphasis on phule being an off-kilter product. a rusty, yet highly incomparable prototype. like kane’s initial hopes and ideas of perfection were all accumulated into his first piece and had to Die there.
something something. make that dynamic more on the nose and indicative of family trauma. something something. the passing down of negative traits through genes. something something. the selfishness of parenthood shining through despite it being an act of “giving” at its core. something something the imposition of perfection. something something. art is pain? whatever i have too many thoughts on this matter im all Jumbled.
and Ugh i didn’t mean to make my phule post armada family dynamic/kane-centric. but. what do you Know. the implications of birth and existence infect every aspect of every narrative. booooooooo.
(i actually really enjoy delving into this kind of stuff, but this is Not where this post was supposed to go. rest in peace to the other bits of analysis i deleted from here. as well as the lyrics i once had attached about el dorado, the armada, phule's purpose, and. the very nature of his existence. going off topic + the media limit have struck again, unfortunately ((unfortunate for Me))
you know. i haven't started on/rendered the pieces i Should be rendering, but... i've been having some fun cranking out phoodles while trying to practice things related to values and tonal corrections and. Stuff. art things, you know the drill. messing with greyscale.
now am i improving? who knows. but i Need this sort of outlet for my love regardless LMAO.
love this song when it comes to the #phule dynamic sorry. i haveee to include it here. nihilistic pirate prone to brooding vs phule “lock the fuck in cause i’m right here” pirate101. the world is a cruel and unjust place… omg wait kissing phule hiiiiiiii. hashtag "stupid as ever, i see" 😍 and also hashtag. Stop saying hashtag, man. my Bad.
furbyvore sanctioned torture is almost over guys i promise. i've just gotta purge my full scale pages.
i think about the color clown more than i breathe. probably. phule full legal name pirate101 you’re everything to me and More. i wish i could get less caught up in how i go about sharing this sort of stuff.,, cause i just want my feelings materialized and Out there.,, , , but i always feel a littleee (understatement) bad when i don’t have anything entirely cleaned up or worthwhile to offer,,. like i really wish i was more dedicated to producing stuff that’s quality .,, , , as opposed to. my Wacky two pixel doodles. made out of pure cravings.
but. practice is practice i guess. and Phule is Phule.
and i fucking LOVE phule.
he’s chapel ceiling worthy. i will not let myself fall completely into my bouts of anguish and tragedy (which happen often) until my endeavors lead into me painting phule exactly as i see him. On a chapel ceiling. that i Own. how’s that for a life goal huh.
sorry i have to reiterate i’m insane like this Every phost to avoid coming across as something i’m not. which is normal. i never believe i’ve conveyed the full scale of my feelings for him, OKAY!!! you’re just gonna have to DEAL with my soothing techniques.
you didn't come here to hear all that, though. and i'm like. 99% you haven't come here Willingly at All. so. thank you for enduring my rambles and images!! i Will be back. and that's a threat.
While Khrysalis is my favorite Arc 2 world, I will always appreciate and love the majesty that is Azteca. The first world to permanently change. The music, the atmosphere, the title "Of the Falling Sky", it's a masterpiece.
No other world makes me feel melancholy the way Azteca does. Whenever I have to visit there and I see the falling meteors wherever I go, it just makes me feel so...sad. Real articulate, I know.
The storytelling of Azteca is so personal. It's a long world on purpose, to make you get attached to it, familiar with the world you're traveling in. The writers wanted you to live in that world. They wanted you to triumph over the tough bosses and dungeons all so they could just rip it out from under your feet at the very end. It's evil. It's perfect. I love it. It makes you feel completely DEVASTATED when you couldn't win in the end. The permanence of the falling meteors, black hole in the sky, it's definitely intentional to make you dread returning to Azteca in the future.
Not to mention the way that this failure hangs over your character's head WELL into Arc 3. Like, of course there's the Shadow of the Land in Khrysalis, but the Reverie in Empyrea? Brings it back full swing. You are NOT forgetting this.
u should be able to put ur hand down and let the instrument sniff u and if it smells a beautiful quality in ur heart and spirit that's ur instrument now. stray tumpet follow you home.. bwaa
