SNOWBLIND

The ROARING KNIGHT has been slain, the minions of the mysterious doctor have been frozen and locked away forever, and the world should be at peace. However! In an act of true betrayal, the hero of legend has forsaken the prophecy and brought about The Roaring, only to use the powers of an extremely powerful witch to freeze the titans and trap the world in a never-ending blizzard! The worlds of Dark and Light are now stuck in limbo, geography has shifted, beloved and precious items have been granted sentience, and magic has become real, and in this world, it is the THORNED KNIGHT and the ICE WITCH that reign supreme. A world of ice and snow. A world where every day is exactly the same as the last, frozen in time.

In the midst of this horrible storm, a new illness has taken hold: Snowblindness! Granting the user exceptional power and abilities, but rendering them completely susceptible to the suggestion of the Ice Witch and dangerous to all who still hold onto their sense of reality and hope for the future. It's theorised that when exposed to those who knew them before and reunited with precious friends and Darkners, the illness can be reversed, but who could be brave enough to face these unfortunate foes in combat?

Alas! A hope has arisen from the darkness. The Knight has awoken from her healing slumber. Can she stop this awful storm? Can she save her loved ones from the depths of delusion? Can she keep the still lingering shadows within her from overtaking her completely? 'The Legend' is over, but in the snow, legends still live on!

Well, this is the big project I've been working on for a while! A whole post Roaring post Weird Route AU centring on everybody's favourite baseball bat-wielding reindeer. I've had the idea for this one for a while, and it took forever both to finish this comic and to work up the nerve to actually post it. I plan to still have regular Deltarune fancomics, but every once in a while, I'll post a comic or artpiece set in this AU, tagged under the #deltarune snowblind and #snowblindAU tags (Another way to tell the difference between normal canon and Snowblind canon will be whether Dess has her normal blue horns or her lingering knight Black horns) I hope y'all enjoy! (And if you'd like to make anything set in this AU, please use the tags provided. I'd love to see it!)

Art for @j-h-cubedman’s Snowblind AU! His latest comic has got to be my absolute favorite thus far, and I’m not even exaggerating. Flowey has always been my favorite Undertale character (the Mikes are also among my faves) so Snowblind!Asriel’s characterization was just. Absolutely phenomenal.

There’s so many cool parallels in that comic. From the obvious visual stuff like the omega flowey tv setup at the end to the way he sort of mirrors Flowey’s time loop mentality with how he plans to record all the fights and then watch them all again once there’s nothing left. I loved Asriel’s characterization in cubedman’s older comic “Weird Kids” and it’s so exciting to see how his secret desires all the way back then extend to his adult self. It really does feel like if Undertale Asriel became a flower after having grown up (and honestly that’s an interesting hypothetical all on its own). Normally I don’t really like it when people characterize Flowey as nothing more than a soulless, sadistic killer with nothing underneath, but here in the context of Deltarune and Snowblind it works just perfectly. 15/10 can’t wait to see more of this guy
