everybody always says "if people had wings their bones would need to be hollow and their wings would need to be like triple the length of the human body ramble ramble ramble" all while thinking of feathered birdlike wings, but a human having bat wings would be a lot more plausible considering bat bones aren't hollow and they are literal flying mammals with adaptations very different from that of a bird. They'd also look cool as heck

yall i just found out that bird bones are only hollow to hold extra air so they can fly fast without getting winded??? Bird skeletons weigh about the same as mammal skeletons of similar sizes actually. Their bones are super dense in the parts that aren't hollow so that they can fly without breaking them. Doesn't have much to do with bats but I never knew this??
