I feel weird when lgbtq+ side of tumblr shits on healthy different-sex couples in media just because they are in different-sex relationship and “it’s heteronormative”. Like they often don’t specify their sexual orientation. So they could be bi or pan. So people are possibly shitting on bi/pan pals just ‘cause they are in diffrent-sex relationship.

a few things I hated about sense8 revolved around  how they treated the POC. The fact that these ppl were chosen at random and half of them were white? made no sense. The world is a majority non white so realistically there should have been maybe one if not no white ppl. So that’s first. the second thing was the story lines for the POC. The African Man from an underdeveloped corrupt village, The East Asian Woman sacrificing herself to save her family’s honour and the South Asian Woman in an arranged marriage with some man she didn’t love. Like do you know how many times i’ve seen those same story lines? The white ppl all had diverse story lines and it was so frustrating seeing the blatant tokenization…cliches the characters were reduced to being lauded as “progressive.” The concept? amazing. the cinematography? outstanding. The execution? Weak
