I miss df and Bomika, so I wrote this little story for fun. Just to write again, as I'm kinda working on other projects and thought it would be fun to write a mindless, short one-off. It ends unresolved but maybe i'll write more if i want to continue it. enjoy :)
Raindrops began to fall gently from the night sky, creating a soft patter against the pavement. However, within moments, the drizzle intensified into a relentless downpour, transforming the quiet evening into a symphony of heavy rain. The five teens sought refuge under the dimly lit bus stop, their silhouettes barely visible against the curtain of rain that obscured their surroundings. The night had taken on an ominous tone, with the roar of thunder echoing in the distance, making it nearly impossible to see even a foot ahead.
Mika, visibly frustrated, was the first to break from the tight circle of her friends. She brushed a strand of her damp hair away from her face, her expression a mix of annoyance and despair. "You have got to be kidding me," she exclaimed, her voice rising above the sound of the rain. "Why tonight of all nights?" She plopped down on the weathered bench, slumping her shoulders in defeat and glancing enviously in the direction of the light spilling from nearby buildings.
Bose, sitting beside her, sensed her irritation and placed a comforting arm around her shoulders. His warm demeanor was a calming presence amid the storm. “Hey, it could be worse,” he said, trying to uplift her spirits with an encouraging smile, though the corners of his own mouth barely lifted in the bleak weather.
Chapa, unimpressed and clearly on edge, leaned back against the corner of the bus stop, tapping her foot impatiently. The frustration in her voice was palpable. “We could be cramped together under an abandoned bus stop while all our friends are at the biggest college party of the year,” she added, her tone a mixture of sarcasm and envy. The thought of the festivities they were missing, combined with the uncomfortable reality of their patrol duty, hung heavily in the damp air, exacerbating her simmering annoyance.
The kids had finally reached their senior year, which opened the doors to the vibrant, electrifying world of college parties. Thanks to Chapa’s older cousin, who was a couple of years ahead of them, the group found themselves with exclusive invites to nearly every raucous gathering on the Swelliew College campus. Chapa, ever the thrill-seeker, relished the chaotic atmosphere. These parties were notorious for their underage drinking, wild dancing, and frequent scuffles that could erupt at any moment. For Chapa, it was the perfect playground.
Miles, on the other hand, was drawn in by the chance to meet new people. He felt a pulse of excitement at the idea of stepping beyond the neatly laid path that life had mapped out for him. Each party was an opportunity to explore different personalities and stories, transforming the ordinary high school experience into a thrilling venture that made him feel alive.
Mika approached these parties seeking a rescue from the overwhelming pressures that had been weighing on her. Nights spent fretting over college applications, grades, and the anxiety of the future consumed her thoughts, and the parties offered a short escape—a fleeting taste of what it felt like to be a carefree teenager. Amid the chaos, she could momentarily forget about her looming responsibilities and simply enjoy the moment.
For Buddy, these parties represented a crucial space to connect with others who shared his experiences. Being gay in Swellview provided its own set of challenges, and while there was some representation, it often didn't resonate with his reality. He wasn’t interested in turning to figures like Frankini for guidance on queer issues; he sought out genuine connections. Attending these parties fostered community for him, as he met other queer individuals who shared raw, authentic life stories that reflected his own struggles and aspirations. Together, they formed bonds that would offer him a sense of belonging as he transitioned to college life.
Then there was Bose, the one who always seemed to sit on the sidelines. The parties held little appeal for him; he preferred the comfort of home, where he could indulge in his favorite TV shows and enjoy quiet moments with his friends. In the past, they had all bonded over these simple pleasures, but lately, he felt isolated. As the designated driver, he maintained his sobriety while his friends immersed themselves in the party scene. He never quite understood the allure of college life. For him, the notion of spending four years just to earn a piece of paper that only promised a marginally better chance at achieving one’s dreams felt ridiculously pointless. Nonetheless, he knew he would follow Mika to college, supporting her journey, even if he struggled to grasp the appeal of the path ahead.
Bose rolled his eyes dramatically, exasperation creeping into his voice as he said, “Well, yes, but at least we have each other. Just imagine how miserable it would be if we were alone in this.” He gestured broadly to the dreary scene around them. Miles, perched on the second bench with a slouch that suggested both weariness and incongruity, quipped back, “Then I’d have more room.” He flashed a brief smirk. Chapa, her gaze fixed on the ground, nodded in agreement, pointing at Miles with a hint of sarcasm dancing in her eyes.
Standing close by, Buddy, ever the peacemaker, lightly smacked Miles on the arm, his tone soft yet firm, “Guys, come on. He’s just trying to cheer her up. Can we at least try to see the glass half full, please?” As his words hung in the air, an awkward silence enveloped the group, punctuated only by the relentless patter of rain on the concrete surface, growing heavier by the moment.
Chapa, feeling the weight of the gloom, slid down against the tempered glass of the bus stop shelter, tucking her knees tightly to her chest as she sat on the damp ground. Next to her was an old advertisement peeling off for some failed science invention that seemed as disregarded as their current predicament. “Personally, I believe that glass was never full to begin with,” she mumbled under her breath, her voice barely breaking the silence, while gripping her knees tighter as if seeking solace in the embrace of her own body.
Bose, feeling a spark of desperation, stood up and shook his head, running a hand through his tousled hair. “Miles, do you have enough energy to teleport us out of here?” He asked hopefully. Miles let out a weary sigh, rubbing his hands down his face in frustration. “We wouldn't be stuck here if I had that ability,” he replied, irritation lacing his words, while the weight of reality hung heavily on him. Turning toward Buddy, the telekinetic continued, “Buds, surely you’ve got some genius invention that can stop this rain?”
A faint smile tugged at Buddy’s lips, but the sorrow in his eyes did not dissipate. “Sorry, but all my devices have been used up, and believe me, none of them are waterproof,” he lamented, casting a glance at the rain-soaked landscape.
Bose ran a hand through his hair in exasperation, glancing at the sky as if willing it to clear. Suddenly, an idea sparked, and he snapped towards Chapa, “Can’t you shoot a lightning bolt at the sky and short-circuit the clouds?” he asked, his voice filled with a mix of desperation and disbelief.
Chapa’s brows furrowed in concentration as she shook her head. “No way, I can’t do that,” she replied, her expression a blend of frustration and resignation. Bose sighed heavily, a groan escaping his lips as he turned away, feeling a sense of hopelessness wash over him.
With a deep breath, he lifted his hands toward the sky, stepping forward enough to stay mostly dry beneath the shelter, though he could still feel the rain seeping through and soaking the tips of his Vans. “Maybe I can use enough brain power to manipulate the rain upward or move the clouds to a place that no one cares about, like New Jersey!” he exclaimed, attempting to inject a hint of humor into the dreary situation, though the laughter remained trapped in their throats.
Bose stood rigidly, his focus sharp despite the biting cold of the rain-soaked air. Water dripped steadily from his sleeves, pooling on the ground beneath him. Each drop felt like ice against his skin as his muscles tightened, the chill gnawing at him, sending a shiver down his spine. As his feet began to grow numb, he summoned one last surge of energy, pushing against the weight of the discomfort before finally dropping his arms, completely spent. He took deep, ragged breaths, his chest rising and falling slowly, the burn of exertion heightened by the frigid downpour.
Mika, sensing his turmoil, gently placed a comforting hand on his back. “The rain will settle soon, honey. We just have to wait it out—” Before she could finish, Bose jerked away, shaking off her touch like it was a wet blanket. He turned to face her, an edge of frustration in his voice. “What, so we can just walk to that stupid party?”
Mika's eyes widened in surprise, stepping back as Miles rose to his feet, trying to defuse the tension. “Dude, just calm down. Mika was just saying—”
“I know what she was saying,” Bose interrupted sharply, his voice rising above the sound of the rain pounding on the roof of the bus stop. “We wait it out until the rain stops, then we march off to the party. And once we get there, you four split off, having fun, drinking, talking, playing games, and making new friends. Meanwhile, I’m left behind, usually stuck in the car, waiting for you all to come back.” The words hung heavy in the air, each accusation echoing in the silence that followed.
Outside, the rain drummed louder, almost drowning out the world beyond their small circle. Chapa stood nearby, brushing off bits of mud from her jeans, her expression shifting from concern to disbelief. “You wait in the car?”
Bose’s gaze dropped to his soaked shoes, their squelchy discomfort a bitter reminder of his predicament. The sight of his friends, who were all dry and cozy in their clothing, only deepened his sense of isolation. He sniffled, his voice barely audible over the downpour. “Seems like we don’t know anything about each other anymore.”
Buddy stepped forward, his brow furrowed with worry. “Bose, are you okay?”
With a sharp intake of breath, Bose turned away, his emotions boiling over. “I’m going home. You guys have fun at your party.” Without waiting for a response, he dashed away, not caring that the rain soaked his clothes or that the bitter wind made the cold even harsher. He didn’t stop to think about where he was running; he just needed to escape.
Bose staggered to a stop at a bus stop roughly ten minutes down the road, his energy waning with each step. As he hit the concrete, a gust of frigid air filled his lungs, sharp and biting. In a moment of raw frustration, he ran his fingers through his disheveled hair, tugging at the strands in desperation as tears began to well up in his eyes. “Stupid, stupid, stupid!” he muttered fiercely under his breath, the words almost a mantra as he sank down, folding over his knees and letting the sobs crash over him like waves. For five long minutes, he lost himself in his emotions, the world around him fading away until a familiar sound broke through his despair.
“Bose! Bose, honey, are you out here?” The voice rang out like a lifeline in the darkness.
Mika.
As soon as the urgency punctuated her call, Mika took off in a sprint, her heart pounding not only from exertion but from an instinctive need to find him. Though she quickly realized that Bose had a head start and would be hard to catch, she refused to relent; she wouldn’t stop until she held him in her arms again. She scanned the street, her eyes darting across familiar landmarks until her gaze caught on another bus stop across the street—a dimly lit silhouette hunched dejectedly against the cold concrete. Her heart raced as she squinted, trying to discern the figure shrouded in shadows. Just as she was about to turn away, uncertainty gnawing at her, the flickering light from a nearby lamppost cast a brief glow, revealing the unmistakable sight of her boyfriend’s worn, tattered, checkered print Vans. “Bose!” she shouted, her voice cracking with urgency, and without a moment's hesitation, she raced over, her feet pounding against the pavement.
Kneeling in front of him, she locked eyes with Bose, who looked up at her with red-rimmed eyes, filled with pain and sorrow. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around his neck, squeezing him as tightly as she could, pouring all her worries and love into that embrace. “I couldn’t…I couldn’t find you,” she whispered, her voice trembling as tears spilled down her cheeks.
Mika refused to let go, anchoring herself to him as Bose instinctively shifted his arms to wrap around her lower back, pulling her closer. As she nestled into him, the warmth of their connection gave him a small measure of comfort. Bose lowered his head into her shoulder, allowing the dam within him to break further. He cried harder, the sound mingling with her ragged breaths, both of them trembling in the embrace, seeking solace in each other’s presence as the cold air surrounded them.
Big brain moment for me: is realizing one of the main reasons Mike dislikes Max is because she’s (subconsciously) a constant reminder that he isn’t straight.
Dustin and Lucas are immediately into Max . And Mike questions this (since they don’t even know her). Mike“awesome??!you haven’t even spoken a word to her! ” Dustin (already crushing): “ Hey! I don’t have to . I mean LOOK at her.”
*MIKE LOOKING HELLA CONFUSED XD
Troy (the homophobic bully, talking about el): “her head’s shaved . She doesn’t even LOOK like a girl.”
(Not to mention all the people who also thought she looked like a boy and specifically thought she was Will- aka hopper, benny, and the diner customer).
We also know Dustin is remarking about Max’s physical appearance in that ep1 scene since this videogame-scene also occurs in s2e1 (the same ep Max is introduced) . This videogame- scene has lucas and Dustin fight over princess Daphne -and Lucas mentions how “princess daphne” is his. Foreshadowing the ending of the love triangle between the 2 boys (in relation to Max) .
What’s interesting is that historically dragon’s lair (was a nototriously difficult game)- and they used princess daphne’s attractiveness to convince straight-boys to continue playing the difficult game and waste their money .This is because, if the player finished the game- they would save and also marry princess daphne.
But what’s interesting is - Dustin plays it, and it’s implied Lucas has played the game the most (and even finished the game to get Daphne). However, we never see Will or Mike play the game or get sucked into Daphne’s …appeal. In fact (right after this) Mike instead puts his arm around Will and suggests they get the top score in dig dug TOGETHER (and beat madmax’s top score instead). Not to mention in s1 Mike wrote a whole d&d story for Will-inspired by star wars/the events of s1 and replaced princess Leia with a king (aka Will). The king has a medal ceremony for the heroes since they k*lled the 7 headed monster for him ( Will: ”it was a 7. The demogorgan it got me″). Mike is not into princesses (he literally replaced a women crushed upon by nerdy/star wars fan boys) and replaced her with a king. connecting it even more to his lack of interest in the princess videogame/girls in general (and interest in Will) .
* These little details in ep 1 show how Mike isn’t like Dustin or Lucas. He doesn’t understand Lucas/dustin’s immediate attraction to daphne or Max in ep 1 (based on their feminine looks). Some people may claim he was attracted to El in Nancy’s dress/his grandma’s wig but i think this had more to do with the fact at that time El looked like the blonde popular girl jennifer hayes (who Lucas/Dustin were into). And so the idea of a girl who liked him (who looked like the most popular girl in school- who his friends were into )was appealing to his ego. Lucas (to Mike, referring to el while she is in her wig, dress, and makeup): “you’re just blind. Blind cause a girl isn’t grossed out by you.” Mike in s1 even later specified he preferred her without the wig/makeup. He says in the wig/dress she’s “pretty” but when El removes all of it she asks “Still pretty?” And he says YEAH! pretty. REALLY pretty.” And sorry his compliment to her at the snowball seemed pretty rehearsed/forced. Just like how he refers to her fem look in s3 as “cool” (like how Hopper says El’s new punk look is “cool”). In s3 we even have Lucas dress like the karate kid (cause max has a crush on him), nancy dresses based on ‘new age’ music (jonathan likes), so why does max imply El dresses in baggy male clothes for mike ? Saying about picking clothes “ chose stuff that feels like you…not mike.” Maybe cause mike prefers her dressing in a more masculine way?
Anyways, back on topic. s2e1 shows Mike doesn’t understand his friends immediate attraction to Max and Daphne’s feminine appearances and this ties back to Mike’s animosity to Max in the following s2 eps.
Later mike yells at max “hate you? How can I hate you? i don’t even KNOW you!” (Mirroring what Mike said earlier to the smitten Dustin -when Dustin remarked on how he doesn’t really have to know her to think she’s awesome because he found her physically attractive). Mike says this comment to Max- when in canon Mike knew both el and Max for the exact same amount of time -a week . So somewhere in his subconscious he realizes crushing on el (who he ‘doesn’t even know’) based on her then “boyish” look /will like appearance (after only knowing her a week) means something. Cause his straight friends (at least initially) are into Max for her more feminine appearance (after also only knowing her for a week) .And Dustin and Lucas were never into the boyish looking El (in s1- like they were with max in s2). So yeah every time Mike sees her - he’s reminded that (in canon) he unlike his friends has never crushed on a single girl (except one who resembled a boy/ his male bff). Which (at least subconsciously) agitates him to think about. Max in response to him saying he doesn’t hate her. Max: but you don’t want me in your party! Mike: correct! Max: why not? Mike: CAUSE YOU’RE ANNOYING!To mike- max’s very presence is a constant reminder he’s not straight. Her presence makes him at least subconsciously start to think about things- he’d rather not. Like why he was attracted to the boyish looking el (who resembled Will) but not max, princess daphne, or any girl prior?
In s1 we know Mike knows what “gay” , 'fairy’, and 'queer’ is- all words he heard as insults towards Will . And eventually Mike snaps and attacks Troy for a specific hom*phobic comment making fun of Will being dead. Where Troy says, “Will’s in fairy land now. flying around with ALL THE OTHER FAIRIES. All happy and GAY!” . He attacks Troy in the school gym for subconsciously reminding him he’s gay -same place he yells at Max for doing the same thing. EL EVEN attacks both Max and Troy in the gym using her powers! (cough next time Mike saw Troy he literally flew from where Will ‘died’. (aka like ‘all the other fairies’. Troy even told Hopper Mike “flew” . That is another Mike is gay hint ) . So he probably doesn’t even want to fathom the possibility he may be gay or in love with his male best friend (when taught it’s something 'bad’ by his peers and 80s society as a whole ). Especially when he sees how people already malign Will over such rumors.
So to Mike - Max is the personification of the thing he lacks - the ability to be attracted to girls-the innate ability to be what most deem 'normal’. The ability to be like his friends. And he sadly resents her for this.
Then in s3 max encourages el to dump him ( and says to Mike it’s not just a break). And constantly points out how mileven just isn’t that great- she yells at Mike about how he doesn’t trust el nor respects her ability to make decisions. And tells el that he lied to her. And she also points out to Mike- how el was the one who decided to spy on him (and disrespect his privacy/boundaries). And even worse for Mike’s straight facade with El (max gives El a feminine makeover in s3). Something he’s not genuinely attracted to.
To Mike(at least subconsciously)- she is a constant reminder that he’s not straight (in s2). And in s3, she points how the flaws of his comp het relationship with el .Which infuriates him .
So when Mike starts to accept his queerness- I suspect their relationship will improve.
Heck The fact MAX & Will also have a lot in common (but he’s only attracted to Will- a boy and not Max) could be another subconscious reminder he’s not straight (Which causes an additional layer of resentment). For max & Will: Both are poor, their bio dads both abandoned them leaving them with their respective mothers, both like horror films, comics and videogames, both are the youngest of 2 siblings. And both use bats in anger when emulating their ab*sers ,and both are heavily associated with rainbows (Max literally has a rainbow shirt collection/ Will’s rainbow ship and the many other rainbow refs). Both also yell at Mike about how sh*tty they think the mileven relationship is in s3. Both have posters relating to beach films (Will has jaws /Max has endless summer).Costume designers said his s1’s vest was supposed to be in homage to Marty mcfly (from back to the future). They gave Max Marty mcfly’s skateboard in s2.And on Halloween she even dresses up as a movie-character who as a child dressed up as a clown on Halloween (Will’s fear/ what triggered him on Halloween) and whose surname is Myers (Byers?)
I also think Mike was a bit jealous and initially thought Will was into her too. But I think the prior reasons I just discussed was actually the main reason for the animosity.
UPDATE
*this annon pointed out a detail that pretty much just verified my first assumption. To mike- max’s very presence is a constant reminder he’s not straight-similar to troy doing the same thing (albeit for very diff reasons ). Her presence (and his inability to have a crush on her-like Lucas &Dustin do) makes him at least subconsciously start to think about things- he’d rather not. Like why was he attracted to the boyish looking el (who resembled Will)? And who he barely spoke to, and in his own words he “didn’t even know’ cause he only knew her for a week? But NOT max (who he knew for the same amount of time),and who Lucas/dustin have immediate attraction to/ think is “awesome” without talking to her (because of their feminine looks) .To Mike - Max is the personification of the thing he lacks - the ability to be attracted to girls-the innate ability to be what most deem 'normal’. The ability to be like his friends
We see this by the use of one word….
Having Max in s2 mention how Mike thought El was “awesome” . Is just icing on the cake- showing she’s a reminder to Mike he isn’t straight (and his romantic feelings for El aren’t genuine). She literally threw Mike’s words back at him-where Mike was judging his friends for thinking Max was “awesome” because of her looks-not words. When Mike did the same to El.
Lucas even says the ‘no/yes’ line next to Mike’s heart sign (which has a rainbow propelling a heart on it). In s3 (when dating el) he removed this sign. But symbolically we see it follow him everywhere -via El’s room having a drawing with a rainbow propelling a heart on it- with Mike’s name on it. Which is shown when he’s kissing El- showing no matter how hard he tries to act straight-he can’t escape his rainbow/ queerness.
In fact,in s3, when Max points out the flaws in m*leven she is wearing rainbow shirts (illustrating that she -like the rainbow-sign & drawing is a constant reminder to Mike that he’s not straight -which follows him everywhere). Similar to Troy who (in his rainbow shirt) interrupts Lucas claiming Mike has a crush on El- only to announce Will is gay/ and to only target Mike with such remarks after this .
Not to mention this whole -Max reminding him he’s not straight and can’t like girls in s2-3 just ties in to my theory Mike was projecting when telling Will “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls.”-here. And the whole theory Mike is emulating his parent’s loveless marriage with El-mentioned it here.
idgaf if the writers intended him to be a straight man feeling guilty in the coming out scene. all i see is mike realizing will loved him and that he already moved on. he realizes the two at the same time. he had a chance but not anymore. he took too long. he's too late, as always.
This REALLY is the last day of uncertainty, of theorising, analysing. Everything and anything that comes tomorrow will set everything in place. No more creating ”gates”, getting frustrated about the wait, and so i think it’s important that no matter how you feel about vol2, or this season in general- just enjoy these last hours we have before the show truly comes to an end.
Obviously no matter if byler ends up being canon or not, this community will continue to thrive but it will never be the same as it has been these past god knows how many years.
Umm so I watched ALL of Stranger Things for the first time last week and yes I am a Byler shipper!! And tonight is the night that changes EVERYTHINGGGG. So I just wanted to let you guys know that after tonight, you'll be sick of me, whether Byler is canon or not lol. I have SO MUCH to debrief with Byler, whether it be rants, pics, edits, etc. But I will NOT be silenced. ANYWAYS…BYLER FOR LIFE!!
but the second a character shows signs of mental illness that aren't romanticized by the media they're suddenly 'poorly written' with 'bad development'
I’ve been asking for this episode for I don’t even know how long!! I believe that they would do the thing where they’re all in high school still but they’re in like four different cliques and the twins are like separated because they didn’t have danger force to keep their family relationship together so maybe Mika is like a nerd but like a loser nerd and Miles is a loner/stoners lol and chapa is obviously like the bad kid/the bully and then Bose could be either artsy or prep, but he hates being popular 😭
New but old ship alert ‼️ I rewatched True Jackson VP and re-fell in love with Lulu and Ryan!!
It’s very much idiot geek bf meets idiot nerd gf and I was ABOUT it!! Lulu is ditzy and definitely had ADHD but is extremely academically gifted while Ryan also an idiot and has ADHD but is more street smart and emotionally intelligent. They mesh extremely well, and have two brain cells combined and I love them. (Even though they both end up with two different love interests 🙄) they match each other’s freak lol and are always there for each other when it matters. And they fake dated in episode three and they both wanted to stay together and keep “pretending” and even said that they make a good couple. And at the end of that episode Ryan asked Lulu out for yogurt while joking about not having the money to pay but they both laughed it off while giving each other a sweet look.
They are so cute and could have easily been a pre-established couple in the show and almost nothing would have changed for the show or the dynamic of any of the characters which makes me sad but what’s done is done 😭
But I made a edit and I will be posting it soon lol and I WILL be making more 😋😋
But the real question is what is their ship name??
Going a tiny bit deeper into my honorable mentions from my favorite and least favorite ships from children’s tv and film.
💬 9 🔁 5 ❤️ 42 · What are The Best Disney Ships and The Worst Disney Ships?
I'm just going to do a top 3 for best and worst since I don't
I can’t get into many since I’m on a time crunch but I will talk about two honorable mentions from best and 1 from the worst!!
Warning!! I have not watched most of these shows in years so my brain may be misremembering some things so be warned!!
Best 👍🏾
Maddie and Josh (Liv & Maddie)
I MEAN I DONT THINK I HAVE TO SAY MUCH. Josh was just such a walking green flag. He conquered fears for her (or at least tried to) she felt comfortable to be her most authentic self, and truly looked so much more free! Like every clip I see of mosh, Maddie looks happy, light on her feet, and truly in love. And the love feels mutual, pure, and genuine!! Everything was so simple and no pressure with Josh, unlike with Diggy, Maddie constantly felt the need to change herself or change her feelings since Diggy’s feelings for some odd reason were more important. And even in the end when Josh could see he wasn’t the one in Maddie’s heart anymore, Josh took it like a champ. He told Maddie to go follow her heart and if it led to him, he’d be happy but if not then he’d still be happy for her. LIKE?! MADDIE IF YOU DON’T GO GET YOUR MAN?! Diggy was a self-centered, mansplaining, egotistical, manipulative, man-child who only argued for himself and his needs. He never cared about leaving Maddie behind no matter how many adventures he went on. Josh continued to care about Maddie as she walked alone across the room to her old lover…JOSH IS THE SUPERIOR CHOICE!!
Teddy & Beau (Good Luck Charlie)
ANOTHER AMAZING ONE!!! he was sweet, a gentleman, worked in the family business, trustworthy, funny, SOUTHERN!!! Beau was almost too good of a guy, it’s funny 😂 he was just the perfect guy yet Teddy said “nah I want my ex boyfriend who cheated on me with my friend who was also my brother’s ex girlfriend.” TEDDY YOU ARE TOO SMART TO MAKE SUCH DUMB DECISIONS! I would go on but I don’t remember much since I haven’t seen this relationship since I was a kid but don’t worry I’m actually rewatching a lot of kids tv shows from when I was younger so once I get into the beau episodes I will come back to say more 😉
WORST 👎🏾
Mal & Ben (Descendants Franchise)
DONT SHOOT 🔫 🙌🏾 but Mal and Ben never felt authentic to me…like the first movie she had a spell on him until it washed off in the enchanted waters but then lied to Ben about her real reason of making the love cookie. Also the second movie is literally about Mal feeling like she’s living his life and not hers. Becoming this picture perfect version of herself that she thinks Ben would prefer rather than the one he “fell in love” with! She quite literally tries (Keyword: TRIES) to put a spell on him to make him forget that she was using her magic to woo him, which ticks him off since he doesn’t want her using magic on him anymore. But she doesn’t want to stop using her magic since that’s what makes Mal, Mal! Plus she never had the chance nor the ability to use her magic on the isle since it was banned. And even when he stupidly decides to go to the isle after she runs away to prove herself a true VK and begs for her forgiveness, she still doesn’t take him back. But after Ben almost getting thrown off a plank, enchanted into liking uma (which Mal did in the first movie), and going full dragon to fight octopus uma…they finally are back together and getting married in the third movie. Audrey (Ben’s ex whom he treated like garbage) wants to get her revenge since she planned her entire life out so that’d she be the queen. So she becomes the queen of mean and decides that being good wasn’t enough so being bad will get the job done. So it turns out Mal was lying to everyone and her fiance (I think it was about not wanting to let more VK’s in even though she got in that way and it completely changed her life for the better?!) so that was a storyline 🤦🏾♀️ plus imo uma and Ben had WAYYYY better chemistry, a better storyline, plus they looked more aesthetically pleasing as a couple 🫣 but maybe that’s just me 😔
