UGH
This horrorshow has been going on for a month
One day [my significant others] housemate will reap every terrible grain of the bitter crop that he has sown and fucking burn me for it but I want to hear of every moment to the point I can drink whatever wretchedness he brings upon himself.
I have to put this here where no one knows me because the places I trust I'm embarrassed to subject my unknowing friends to this and anywhere else could lead back to the source.
hey guys you wanna see a really really bad image of a pelican
YEAH you do. here it is. jesus fucking christ
Learning a new social media, or I guess this feels more like a weird mutation of forums in a way, feels less like learning a new language and more like entering a subculture that is slightly similar to one you know yet also wildly different.
Like being into tabletop boardgames for years and then finding RPGs.
Or being into RPGs for a decade and then just finding yourself in LARPs somehow.
It happens. I rolled a die on a board at eighteen; drawing cards, placing miniatures,
next thing you know I had an RPG character with stats and skills and a page with their name on it and powers that I had a vague but enthusiastic grasp on and a back story that existed 70% in my own mind.
Couple years later I did a LARP and I was in a massive room pretending to be at an American Prom.
A couple years after that I was in a green area wearing an odd hat and holding a foam sword and had a card with what I was on it.
They come for us all.
RPGs was the one that kept it's nails dug into me, like a desperate climber who's rope has fled trying not to fall into a ravine, but I graze on the pastures of LARPs once in a while.
Here is my comic book about Hua Cheng, which I finished and printed about two months ago! It's called "Star of Misfortune"! It has 70+ pages and a dust jacket with holography🥰
I am happy with the result and plan to translate it into English and open orders for it by beginning of winter!
If you’ve tried to study alchemy, you’ve probably come across the name “Hermes Trismegistus.” Hermes the Thrice-Great is often referred to as the mythical sage who invented everything from alchemy to mathematics to Judaism. There is no evidence he ever existed, but the legend of Hermes Trismegistus is the mortar holding together the bricks of western alchemy.
As you read the rest of this book, Hermeticism will come up a lot. Occultists love Hermeticism because it is a powerful tool for syncretizing disparate spiritual traditions. In short, it is religious duct tape.
First, it gave us a legendary sage that supposedly all knowledge came from. A common problem with religions is that they disagree. Hermeticism says that if two theologies have a similar idea, that’s because they both came from Trismegistus. Additionally, the history of alchemy and magic is complicated. By saying “it all comes from Trismegistus” you save quite a bit of time. Because of this, Hermeticism serves as a scaffolding for the otherwise chaotic history of western esoterica.

I find the way the mind adopts others to be odd and fascinating. For example; sometimes, not always, when I have to deal with some kind of mild figure of authority, like my supervisor, over something I find myself planning out what I intend to say in my friend Millie's voice; as though she is saying it. She's calm, and good at articulating what she intends. Again, sometimes, but not always, when I want to rage against some specific botherence that is the fault of no one or thing in particular I can hear the thoughts articulated the I imagine my friend Manolo might.
I assume this to be basically universal to everyone. Maybe I'm wrong.
But it gets me thinking; how much of me is me? Am I myself or am I the sum total of bits and pieces picked up from various interactions I've had until now? I know, this kind of thing is so terribly basic, believe me, but I can't help but dwell on it every now and again.
But then it follows; do those people extend through me? When I want to complain about something does the language of my brother break through? When I greet people in an online call do people hear the inflection I adopted from my friend? Can people hear my friend Richard in the way I pronounce certain words? Do they pick up the hand gesture I did from my Italian friends? When I am short with someone, is that my father? Would anyone notice? Would any of these pass on to others?
You can look up your genetic history; what percentage of what ethnic group you have. What if they did the same with personality?
I think there'd be a fucking fight.
Knowing how much of us is made up of who and where? I'd be too curious to avoid but I'd certainly balk at knowing. Are you ten percent you? Less? Is most of yourself predicated on a house party you were at when you were nineteen? Could it even be measured?
But maybe that's it. No one is one, we're all just a multitude carrying all our people with us one way or the other. Genes, skin, mind, personality.
I don't know.
I only know one thing.
I am going to have another beer.
Maybe two.
