Today's diary entry ✨ 12.17.25 ✨
I made the Pokemon journals a permanent addition to the shop. I had so much fun creating the first batch and they sold out so quickly. At my Halloween market, someone mentioned that the local game store had a box of loose cards for 10 cents a piece. Obviously, I had to check it out and sure enough they had a whole box filled. My guess is that they come from people buying packs looking for a specific card and not wanting to keep the rest. One man's junk is another woman's treasure ✨ My previous Pokemon collection was made with cards I found on the ground. It was soooo much fun being able to pick out which cards I wanted to use. Of course, I bought all the cute Pokemon they had to offer. These have been a huge hit and I can't wait to make more for next year ✨💫✨
I got asked to create a guest book for a gallery show this year. This is how you secretly enter into a gallery show because technically this is my art. I am so happy that they thought of me and I'm so happy with how it turned out. All they asked was that I used the same font as their flyers. I had creative freedom to design the rest as I wished. I must have tossed the inside photos but the end papers are this pretty white cardstock with pastel colored snowflakes 🌨️ I would love it if next year I get to make more guest books for people's special days ✨💖✨ I also drew the snowflakes ❄️

I've been working on journal designs for my spiral notebooks. I bought a binding machine earlier this year to make my art more accessible for everyone. So far it's been a big hit and honestly I'm loving the ability to test out a design before I commit it to a hardcover journal. It also lets me create designs that maybe I wouldn't turn into a sticker but would still like to use. I can't wait to see how my art expands next year over the market season.

Today I will be finishing up these books! I did most of the major parts yesterday to get them prepped for the final casing in. I just need to spend the next 3ish hours cutting and weeding their vinyl covers to attach them 😅 I won't lie, this is my least favorite part. Mainly because I have to wait on my cricuit to finish but then also the tedious part of weeding the design. My crazy ass loves creating super intricate designs so it's never easy or fast.
I wouldn't change it for anything in the world though. I truly do love creating new books from old paperbacks and hardcovers, even with the tedious parts 🥰
In this pile of work:
Dracula, The Study in Scarlet, The Lightning Thief, Stargirl and The Rest of the Robots ✨

I don't think I posted about my rib cage journal on here but that's what sparked this journal series that I made.
Earlier this year I bought a bag of bones from a local taxidermist. I had this idea of sewing rib bones onto a journal cover and it came out sooooo good! It's already been sold to its new home!!! Buuuuttt that bag had other bones too and I wasn't sure what to do with them at first.
I ended up making some cute books and bones terrariums, which have been a hugeeee hit at local markets and hopefully soon on Etsy. I also made these smaller bone journals just to have some fun! It was a bit more of a challenge getting these into the press without breaking the bones than the rib bones but it worked.
It's work like this that I am the most proud of. Don't get me wrong, I love upcycling old books into new journals but being able to create one of a kind journals just from ideas in my head means so much more to me. It really is magical to see a sketch come to life and to create something most have never seen ✨🥰✨

I finally finished binding Nature and Nurture by @earlgreytea68, such a beautiful Johnlock fic that I’ve loved for years.
This was honestly a tricky one. I wanted to do something delicate and nature-inspired, so I made a little window on the cover with translucent paper to hold some dried flowers... which turned out beautiful eventually, but not before I messed it up three times and accidentally sliced into the back of the text block 😅 Worth it though.
The design is inspired by the GORGEOUS bind by wilddaisies_bindery on ig and also some bookmarks i made ages ago and that look so pretty with this bind.
The title, author, and AO3 logo are all handwritten with paint markers, and I used sea photographs from Canva as endpapers.
I’m so happy with how it turned out and I'm so glad to finally give this fic a physical form after loving it for years.
Thank you so much to the author for letting me bind this beauty and I hope you like how it turned out!
