I started to lose track of my favourite stories, so I created this tumblr to keep track of them. My bookmarks, as you will. Seeing as this is a collection of my favourite fics, there will always be a happy ending. There may be angst along the way. Indeed, there probably will be angst. I do love me a good bit of angst. There is a dreadful lack of fics for this ship, you know. I mean, there’s a few out there now, and I’ve been reading some quite good ones, so there are *some* But when I first started searching for Geralt / Jaskier, I was expecting, well... hundreds, or thousands, or at least a great deal more than there currently are. 

Okay, so the audience of the books and the games might not be big into writing fics. But now the show is out, and Geralt and Jaskier are just so obviously perfect together, in a ship that has all the best tropes and dynamic - grumpy older experienced one with happier sunnier sweeter one, lots of hurt/comfort Opportunities, huge can’t-express-emotions-well misunderstanding angst potential, and... 

Well. There needs to be more written if these two, so please fanfic writers, give me some more Witcher fics, pretty please??

i loved this particular fic. Lots of angst and pining. Geralt entirely sensory. Jaskier just not getting what’s going on *at all*. And such lovely delicious sex when they finally get it together.

So that was just one of the most amazing fics I’ve ever read.

A little while ago I binged all three seasons if Hannibal. Late to the party, I know, but if you haven’t seen it you’re missing out on some of the best visual storytelling there is. It’s a truly amazing show that never faltered, not once in all its three seasons. What’s more it didn’t even suffer the usual problems of a show cancelled before the creators would have liked, because the series finale was just fucking perfect. Usually a show cancelled early destroys its own story trying to wrap everything up - I’m thinking Penny Dreadful, Carnevale, a hundred others. But not Hannibal. There were some loose ends with side characters, sure, but Will & Hannibal’s ending was sheer perfection.

I wasn’t planning on hunting out fan fiction for it, though, because the whole show revolves around the relationship between Will & Hannibal and the homoeroticism is deliberately handled. We’re talking subtext so obvious they might as well just have given it up and called it text, except the show was so pretentious-art-movie in style that would been out of keeping with the tone.

But then I was browsing this other recs site, and it recc’d this fic, which delve deep into the D/s relationship and didn’t shy away from what that meant, which is a big thing for a submissive who takes her kink seriously, like me. And other rec site described it thus: “if you read nothing else in this fandom, you must still read this.”

So I read it.

And holy fuck but that was mindblowingly amazing.

its a fic that slots so well with the actual source material you start to forget what was canon and what is the fic. It is seemless, perfect in tone and voice. Told in Will’s POV, starting just after he kills Hobbs, but weaving in the encephalitis and the rest of the first season, before going on it’s own path.

You know when a fic is so good you prefer to accept it as the real story, over the actual canon one? Well that’s this fic.

It is FanFic Law that anyone who recs fanfic must eventually get around to reading & reccing Supernatural fan fiction, even if just because of weight of numbers. So here I am, folks, getting my decadent, pervy rocks off to a bit of fine Dastiel slash. :-D

I’ve never even really watched Supernatural much. I know who everyone is and how all the characters relate and where the sexual tension lies, because I’ve a good many friends into the show and it’s associated fics. So I know what I’m reading. Just never got around to it myself.

But sooner or later I was bound to read some of this stuff and this is where I started, and oh my, so much explicit goodness! 

Nude modeling! D/s undertones! That thing with the tie.... I swear I’m incorporating a tie the next time I scene with any worthy Dom. 

It. Was. HOT *fans self*

Dean’s POV and the voice stayed true start to finish. The tenderness between Dean and Cas was just lovely. I’d comment on the excellent characterization, except I’ve already admitted I don’t watch the show, but it was consistent and finely judged. 

Most important of all, the sex was just fucking wonderful.

One to read, folks. I’m going to work my way through this writer’s entire catalogue on AO3 now,, because I need moooorrree...

Fandom: Lucifer (TV), Hellblazer, Hellblazer & Related Fandoms, Constantine (TV)

Pairing: John Constantine/Lucifer Morningstar (Lucifer TV)

Rating: Mature. Not explicit enough, but oh well.

You know one of the funniest things reading Constantine/Morningstar fics for a chick like me? 

It’s when the writers feel a need to declare tags like “Bisexual John Constantine”, as if the character hasn’t been canonically bisexual since 1992. Seriously kids, John Constantine was fucking men since I was your age.

Or when the writers introduce the characters to each other as if they don’t know each other and haven’t met before, when these two go way back. Way, way back. Right down to hell and in furious damnation, way back. 

This author doesn’t do any of that. She knows her characters and she knows their literary history. Indeed, she even convinces me she’s writing comic-book John, which is not something most fics even get close to. (Though considering Matt Ryan plays Constantine so true to his comic book origins, slashing TV-Constantine can almost seem the same as slashing Comic-Constantine. Except for, oh, tags like “Bisexual John Constantine” lol). This fic gets Constantine right.

Lucifer, of course, is TV Lucifer, which is absolutely nothing like the comic book Lucifer, but that’s okay, because Tom Ellis is so much fun in the role and I love the TV version of the character anyway. And even better this fic gets TV Lucifer right too.

One day I’ll find a fic that slashes the comic book versions of these characters in just the way I like. Ah well. But until then, I’ll happily adore fics like this one. Best of all, it avoids the traps of letting Lucifer and Constantine get in any way sentimental about each other, even when they’re showing their care in so many little ways. They’re screwing with each other, figuratively and literally, right to the last face-off-while-fucking moment. 

And maybe I’m a sucker for cynical characters who fall in love despite themselves, but to do that in obvious, explicit ways, with these two characters would just be a mess... instead we have this fic, where they care, but, you know, they’re also John Constantine and Lucifer Morningstar. Not exactly the most emotionally stable of men, either of them. It’s fabulous.

Anyway, this fic is a load of fun and I wish there were more of this pairing out there...

Oh, it’s been an age, my darlings. I’ve still been reading, and fancying, and bookmarking, but I haven’t been writing recs because, well, life. Two small kids, a full-time day job and lots of words of my own to write.

So it’s maybe appropriate that I’ve been pulled back to rec some more by a post from Astolat, of one of her older works being transitioned over to AO3. 

Merlin. I loved that show back in the day. Loved to ship Merlin/Arthur. Still do. It’s one of my happy places, aaah... 

This is a short fic, an explicit fic, and makes me pine for more. I do love Merlin, who’s been waiting practically millennia for Arthur to be reborn, and now he is, and oh it’s delightful.

So I was doing this buzzfeed quiz

Because I was so fucking tired it was easier to keep sitting there clicking at my screen than haul my arse up out of the chair and into bed.

And there was the usual bad buzzfeed quiz, if this one a bit more tailored to my interests:

“There’s a queer ship to match every personality, answer these random arsed questions and we’ll tell you yours.”

Now, I could’ve snorted dismissively, finished my gin, and gestured drunkenly to the entire tumblr here with dozens of ships that totally suit me, every single explicit one of them, before stumbling to bed. I could’ve rolled my eyes and muttered ‘I read ships you wouldn’t even have coded into your algorithmic data-pants, auto-generated answers’, because let’s face it, they’re only going to have about six possible answers in this thing and they’ll be the big pop cultural reference ones.

But I didn’t, I took the quiz, because see first par above.

Finally saw The Last Jedi tonight

And it has awoken all the Ships! Lookout AO3, I’m coming to search your archives...  :-D

My fav evil space boyfriends were back as goofy as ever, so I’m definitely hunting for some ridiculous Kylux action. And that new romancey-vibe between Rey and Kylo has some sexy potential, so I’m definitely up for it. I might even try for some Finn/Poe good guy stuff... maybe... they’re both so sweet and obviously need to be together, it’s just usually I like a bit of dark in my ships. But hey, I’m there for the happy endings.

Seriously, I loved the film and I really want to ship just about every new young character in it now, so there may be some recs coming, folks...

Oh my, this was the Steve/Billy fic I didn’t know I needed, but I so, so needed. 

The characters are nailed. Billy is experienced, sure of what he wants, and perfectly comfortable with his bisexuality, but has zero emotional intelligence. While Steve is emotionally mature, but full of internalised homophobia, inexperience with other guys, and only slowly understanding he desperately needs what Billy is offering.

Even better is the slight Dom/sub overtones, the way they play off each other, and the fact that the author just has to write more. Oh please write more. 

Explicit as fuck. In the best possible way. Hot as hell. Yummmmmm

So I’m reading a lot of Harringrove explicit filth and it’s obscene how much of this I’m consuming right now and I don’t care, it’s wonderful. I went in originally planning to check out some Steve x Jonathan fics, but stumbled into Steve x Billy and ooooh its so good. 

I’ll probs still check out Steve X Jonathan at some stage, but only after I’ve exhausted the Billy fics. 

This one is full of rough dub-con sex folks. Well, maybe not quite dub-con, Steve is clearly into it too, but it’s an emotionally dubious relationship even if its consensual sexually. By the end its all lovey dovey anyway. And I usually get all skeptical about rough-sex-as-bad-emotional-marker thing, but this is done very very well.

Billy’s POV. And I usually love that, because Billy is just so fucking damaged. But in this one, Steve is even more damaged and they find each other and ooooh fuck.

I wanted more. What can I say. A fic does it right when it leaves you wanting more.

So now I’m going to go find more.

New ship

So Harringrove is a thing and I am totally fucking loving it. Who wudda thought Steve x Billy would be my new next best ship?

So I’m probably late to the party

because I’m not up on pop culture news and happenings these days and am instead quite the old fogey, but I just heard that Wentworth Miller is leaving the Arrowverse, so no more Captain Cold. 

And I’m a bit devastated by that, because ColdFlash remains to this day the ship that holds my fangirl soul it its warm fuzzy hands, and that is entirely due to the genuine sparks between Grant Gustin and Wentworth Miller whenever they were on screen together. Seriously, I know this was a non-canon pairing, but bloody hell, they so sold it whether they meant to or not.

I haven’t watched The Flash in ages, in many ways because I know they’d never canonically get The Flash together with Captain Cold, so I much prefer living in the fanfic world where that is the happy ending I can actually get. I haven’t watched Legends in ages either, because frankly I don’t have much time to watch TV these days. 

But Flash/Captain Cold will always warm my soul and for that I will miss Wentworth Miller in the role, and will always be glad I watched him have so much fun playing it. 

P.S. The other ingredient into why ColdFlash so warms my soul is the wonderful amazing fanfic writers who have adopted it as their ship and written the most wonderful fics and nailed the characters and their relationships just right. So kudos to you all. :-)

Oh wow. This was the Bruce/Clint story I never knew I needed. So hot. Just so, so hot.

I’m not even a Bruce/Clint shipper. At least, I wasn’t a Bruce/Clint shipper until I read this damn story and now I’m totally all over the pairing. Seriously, I’m not even sure what portmanteau is in general use for these guys. Who knew how well these two went together? It. Was. Perfect. 

There’s just something about those unexpected stories that make you a believer in a new ship in a single hit, isn’t there?

This is a gritty, dive-bar, hustling back story that isn’t even AU. Which is one of the things I love best about it. It reads at first as if it is an AU and I could go with that, and then it ties it in at the end and I loved it even more. 

So go read the thing. Seriously, this is the fucking hot explicit Bruce/Clint porn fanfic you need right now.
