My review:

So.... I have a confession to make... I went into this book completely blind, okay? Despite the title, cover, and synopsis on, well, everything...... I didn't realize that this was a series about angels.

I KNOW, I KNOW. RIDICULOUS, RIGHT? When Penryn mentioned the angels I was like, "Aw, fuck. I don't have a good history with angels," BUT O-HO-HO WAS I MISTAKEN! IT WAS SO FUCKIN GOOD. SO AMAZING. SO BEAUTIFUL WRITTEN. SO FUCKIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Penryn is the kind of female character that I would look to to help me survive a damn apocalypse. I'd def stick by her side the entire time, no doubt about that. I like that she wanted to help Raffe (oh, sweet Mary Cheesus, Raffe) & that there wasn't sexual tension between them, not a lot.

Raffe.... Oh, man. He's made his way into my heart! The ending hurt me SO much when he was all, "Raffe looks up with murder in his eyes. 'Don't. Talk. About. Her.'" OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN. I WAS SO SCARED OF HIM. I WAS TERRIFIED FOR ANYONE THAT CAME HIS WAY & ohhhh man, I can't believe what happened with him & his sword! He was so hurt, I broke down reading that!

The world building was great, I really felt like I was there (although, what a horrible place to be in, honestly). I like that we were learning about the change on Earth while it was happening instead of having to hear a looong history about it.

Penryn's mom..... is a little weird. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THIS NEW PAIGE! BECAUSE NOOOO. It's terrifying! Man, oh, man. This book. All the feels. All the TURNS. It was so good. I highly recommend this book, man. YOU MUST PICK THIS UP!

I really need to get my hands on World After, ASAP! Can't wait!

My review:

What happened here? Lol, The Selection was SO much better than The Elite and I was super disappointed :/ but that didn't mean I didn't like it! There were some aspects that I really did like, particularly MAXON. If America keeps complaining about him... Can I have him? Yes? YES!

I really hated how America constantly doubted Maxon's feelings for her all because he didn't always give her the attention she craved. She doubted Aspen's feelings and now she began doubting Maxon's feelings. Come on, girl. Learn to believe that people DO like you! It really isn't that hard.

I was really hoping to get more Maxon and America interactions but no -_- we got America and Aspen instead -- UGH TALK ABOUT NOTPS! I really do think her feelings for Maxon are stronger than her feelings for Aspen because (semi-spoilers) in the end, she stayed FOR him, to WIN him.

I'm looking forward to reading The One, I just hope America has developed from this obnoxious wishy-washy person. I hate that about YA female protagonists. "They're just teenagers, what do you expect?" I expect them to be wary of a FEW things, not everything!

Also, America was a BIG hypocrite in this one; Maxon can't hook up/be with other girls physically & emotionally but you can run off & have secret picnics with Aspen? NO, HELL NO. NO. I don't play that double standards bullshit. At least YOU (America) KNEW ABOUT WHAT MAXON WAS DOING; HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT ASPEN! BIG NO NO.

Maxon's back story hurt :/ I hate his father; I almost always end up hating the King in a story lol. Marlee's story hurt, too, but I'm glad Maxon figured something out for her<3 Ugh, I love MAXON!!!

WHO WILL BE THE ONE? (...isn't it obvious? Me ;D)

My review:

Now, when I started reading this book, I was looking forward to it because a lot of people kept saying that this book was amazing. But I disagree.

The only amazing thing about this book is the message about rape that it gives; that the victim isn't to be blamed, that people shouldn't try to hide it and victims should speak up, that rape is not okay.

That was probably the only good thing that I found in this book, other than that, it was soooo ANNOYING.

What's this girl's name --  Jacqueline? My God, all she did was whine and bitch about everything that was around her. I LOVE her for standing up to the guy who attempted to assault her, GO GIRL! GET 'EM! But what I did not like about her was how she would always talk about "moving on from Kennedy" but yet... she would talk about him non stop and think about him non stop and compare him with the other guy -- Lucas? Oh, no. That was so annoying; I hate it when authors make female characters seem so hungover in love with their ex; it was so fuckin annoying.

I DO NOT understand WHY the hell she went to Kennedy's house for Thanksgiving.... WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF THAT?! She was starting to develop a LITTLE bit for me and then BAM! Nope, never mind. Ugh.  Jacqueline. -_-

Now let's talk about Lucas. HOW is it that they were attracted to each other so quickly? Like, within the first few chapters they hook up & I was there like...... W...t...f just happened? WHY did that happen? Their attraction was completely unrealistic to me. Also, how did  Jacqueline not know that Lucas was the guy that was tutoring her? SERIOUSLY?! The signs were right there.

Luca's story broke my heart & man, two people who have lived through a traumatic event are perfect comfort for each other. I wish there was more Lucas and less  Jacqueline. She annoyed me, and while I am sorry about what happened with her, I would have been okay not hearing about the events of their lives through her perspective.

I heard there's a sequel to this book.. Will I read it? Only if I'm Hell'a bored.

My review:

-- This is going to be short since I read this back in January & I don't remember everything, per say.

Okay, wow. This book.. was just so full of emotion, just thinking about it hurts! It usually takes me a while to fall in love with a book, but man, I was smitten within a few pages! So good.

It's been a while since I've read this but I remember falling in LOVE with the characters, even the minor characters. All the characters were written beautifully and the events that happened were so CUTE. If you read this book and are going to tell me that you didn't tear up at least ONCE... then you, my friend, have no heart!

When Andrew kept shying away from Camryn, I literally thought it was because he had an STD. I thought he didn't want to have sex with her because he had an STD. I was NOT at all expecting the real reason he was distancing himself from her! I loved reading from his perspective; he's not a typical male protagonist and man, I loved how much he cares for Camryn.

Like I said earlier, it's been a while since I've read this book but I highly recommend it! Just.... prepare yourself for what's to come because maaaaan, you will need it! That ending was so cute and it hurt but I'm really looking forward to the next book!

Basically I have two moods when it comes it books.
