Despite the clamor, the real conversation about campus sexual assault has hardly begun.
The Fall of the Berlin Wall
On this day in 1989, the spokesman for East Berlin’s Communist Party announced that citizens of the GDR were free to cross the country’s borders. East and West Berliners flocked to the wall, drinking beer and champagne and chanting “Tor auf!” (“Open the gate!”). At midnight, they flooded through the checkpoints.
Discover below how the Berlin Wall divided Germany until November 9th, 1989.

HAPPY SUMMER!
Hello, my LHS babies! Graduation was one whole month ago (whaaaat?), so I figured I would check in. I hope, first of all, that you are all enjoying safe, relaxing, joyful summers full of frolicking in meadows (please use bug spray), frolicking on beaches (please wear sunblock), and pizza (please eat pizza).
The 2013-14 school year was very special, mostly because of you, and I look forward to seeing you in September!
For all my (soon-to-be) sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the English Department has a new website, designed by the ever-so-lovely and ever-so-talented Ms. Getrajdman. It contains photos and fun facts regarding the best department at LHS a wonderful group of people in addition to your summer reading assignments. Check it out if you have not already done so!
ENG Department Goodness
E-mail me if you have any questions, comments, concerns, stories, or if you are filled with the desire to communicate with me due to missing my smiling face ever so much.
Books = Love (even in the summer),
Ms. G.
On mornings such as this, few things make sense as much as cinnamon toast, cocoa, and donning a grey sweatshirt. Enjoy spring break, my little chickens! Relax, rest up, and be safe. Books = love, Ms. G.
Legally Blonde last night at rehearsal ... #dead.
A Mano whole wheat Carciofo pizza ... mozzarella, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, fresh basil, and enough red pepper flakes (my addition) to make me tingly. Mmmmm.
You know your life is thrilling when ...
you're elated to find the washer/dryer free to use at 8 on a Saturday night. Of course it's free; it's Saturday night! Whatever. I'm going to have clean, sweet-smelling sheets and pillowcases and a fluffy duvet tonight, unlike those with more active social lives. Have a nice weekend, bunnies! It seems as though Monday may be Snow Day number seven, but my fingers are crossed for incorrect weather reports. #LHSDramaClub: Set-building and painting today was fun, my Home Depot trips notwithstanding. We are getting the stage Whipped Into Shape, heyoooooo.
Riveting night, party of one. But! Shakespeare with ENG1 this week was so much fun, thou motley-minded bunch of jack-a-napes (just kidding; I ❤️ you all). #WhippedIntoShape ladies: strike it, strike it, strike it through this weekend!
