Amelie and Luis Meadowes met in Ilvermorny in 1946 as two keen first years, both from the country of Mexico. Immediately something within them hit off, they began dating in third year and married towards the end of seventh year. They were both adventurous, choosing to make their way to Greece, two years after their marriage to experience both the culture of the Greek Islands. Both parties distancing themselves from the wizarding community in an attempt to experience the muggle way of life. However, a blunt surprise came to the couple in the July of 1959. Amelie was pregnant and although they had never previously discussed the idea of children. Both parties was ecstatic with the news of a child. Their marriage was filled with love and the birth of a baby would only bring them closer together, this was the start to their family. Or so they thought.
Amelie had many complications within her pregnancy, including high blood pressure and significant morning sickness. Dorcas put Amelie’s body under so much stress that the doctors recommended for Amelie’s health not to have any other children. Dorcas Meadowes was born on 9th of March 1960 in Santorini, Greece. Amelie was exhausted but the parents were doting over their little girl. Dorcas was a loud baby, keeping her parents up all hours of the night. Something that did not change much in her childhood. The family moved to Liverpool in 1962, finding the experience of growing up where she would be going to school being the most beneficial to Dorcas.
As a child, Dorcas was a loud child. In her neighbourhood, Dorcas made friends with practically every child on her street. She was a pragmatic and eccentric child, engaging with almost everyone. She was witty and had the ability to make anyone laugh through her sarcasm and wild behaviour. Her parents believed that her tactics of making friends with other children was to try act as though she had siblings. Being an only child was lonely, but Dorcas grew close to her parents. Her father was the softer of her parents, teaching her poetry and establishing Dorcas with a keen interest in chess and the poetry of Yates. Her mother acting as a confidant, they shared the same humour. Her parents were important to her.
Joining Hogwarts was a big step for Dorcas. From growing to spending little time around children, only playing with them on the street to being constantly surrounded by peers. Dorcas Meadowes was not adapted to the wizarding community, her parents whilst being purebloods were not part of the sacred twenty eight due to their Hispanic status. The war was something unexpected to Dorcas, it shocked her. Suddenly, the muggles she grew up around were being criticised and wrongly ridiculed for no reason. It was uncalled for and Dorcas wasn’t afraid to voice her opinion. Much to her parent’s dismay. Her parents would far rather keep her head down and focus on her studies but Dorcas could not stand for injustice. Passion ran through Dorcas Meadowes veins and her parents could do nothing about it. The more her parents told her to not involve herself, the most determined she got to fight for the rights of the innocent people. Dorcas is a sociable girl who does not hesitate to show her own opinions but can be a bit impulsive. Regardless of the tensions it caused between Dorcas and her parents , Dorcas Meadowes wants to be involved in helping others, even if it does put her own head on the line.

Due to her passionate and impulsive qualities, Dorcas was almost placed in Gryffindor. However, due to her wit and logical thinking, she was placed in Ravenclaw.
