Marlene had taken care of wounded men and women, she had to stitch herself and Matt had thrown up on her at least three times, so Tiberius throwing up wasn’t going to scare her away. Clearly he was also tired of nurses, so she simply did the only reasonable thing to do.

“You’ll be surprised about the places where I’ve laid down” she replied, her lips curving into a playful smirk. She took off her cloak and then carefully sat down on his ed and then laid down, resting her head against his. He was sweaty but she didn’t care. Marlene closed her eyes and took his hand, lacing their fingers together. “I am sorry I left” she said quietly. “I should’ve been here…” she murmured. “But I am here now and I’m not going anywhere and I’m going to try to fix this, okay?” She meant it. She was going to try and do right by Matt and what was left of her family.

“That’s disgusting.” he teased as well, it wasn’t like it used to be but it was better than how things were at the moment. He was uncomfortable and everything ached so he really was hating on everyone and everything, he thought that the world would be better without him, Matt would have a proper life with his parents and Marlene an Bob could move forward but Marlene was right, that kid had lost everyone, and he couldn’t make Marlene lost one of the few family member she had, so instead he tried to focus on making things better for her and not how awful he felt.

“You needed time, I drank, I’m no one to judge.” he added with a heavy sigh, “It’s not your job to fix anything, Marlene. This is not because you weren’t here, or because everyone die, it’s because I wasn’t strong enough to handle things and wanted to turn everything off. I can’t get Sirius out of Azkaban, I can’t be a proper son to my parents, I’m not even a good enough friend to check up on you even when you want to be left alone. So don’t burden yourself with my mistakes, okay?”
