Eh okay I spoke too soon (literally. Ten minutes into the movie.) the movie is perhaps more “fun” but apparently it doesn’t feature any of the sadness and loneliness and axiety that are such integral parts of the book.. but it’s great. Banging soundtrack. Loving the nancy meyers of it all. As a 90s pre-teen hit it’s perfect. Soon as I get a chance though I need to get my hands on the book&revisit my big fat crush on miss gerlach
