Shotcut and Minecraft both insist on using my C drive even though they're installed on the D drive and I don't know enough about computers to know how to change that, or if I even can
Anyway. I've mentioned before that I've never let sounds from the source material carry over in an AMV before. I decided to give it a go. I feel like this would have worked better if I could adjust volume in Shotcut -- I'm sorry Shotcut crashed my whole computer enough times while I was working on this, if you think I'm getting a whole other program involved to balance the audio -- but I am pretty pleased with the results. I actually didn't set out to do that, but I unmuted the video track at one point to help myself pin down a specific clip and forgot to mute it again and when I went to review what I had so far it kinda slapped so I left it in. Mostly. Still not ever gonna catch me layering dialogue over the words of a song.
I've slowly been chipping away at drawing scenes from that imaginary Muppet retelling of the Princess Bride, figured it was about time to share what I've drawn on Tumblr!

Genuinely can’t believe I’ve been on this godforsaken website this long and this is the first anonymous hate message I’ve ever received and the best part is, I’m so inactive that I literally have no idea what this is in relation to, it’s just an angry message shouted from the void; sound and fury signifying nothing. At the very least I’d like to know what I did to piss someone off so I can decide if I want to keep doing more in the future. Be specific, tell me *why* I deserve to ESAD! Okay so I'm just gonna talk about it even if someone's already made a post, someone's gotta spread the word of this incredible website
So you go to the main page, and you like the vibes of one of these pictures
Lets click skull face lady.
It then gives you BUNCHES of images with similar vibes. Want to tweak it a little and narrow it down further? What if you like the vibe of thatt purple one more? Well u click that one and TADA
And you can just keep narrowing down from there, and if you make an account you can even save images you like :D
I know it sounds like i'm advertising for them but honestly i would GLADLY take money to advertise for these guys, their website is still only in beta mode but already I use this (or try to) for my art warmups because I get to try to do something a little different each time. (I would give money to support them but I am broke AF so that's why I'm just spreading the word instead ;A; )
And on the front page there's even an option to search with your own images I think! (Though, I tried to do that but I kept getting an Error, so I don't know if that's a Me With Bad Internet issue or a Website issue. Again, website is in beta, so if it is a problem on their end it will hopefully be fixed soon).

So yeah :D Definitely go check out Same Energy, it is a GREAT resource for artists and those trying to collect specific vibes.
Sharing here bc helpful resource, but also to add on a few notes.
This is a search engine! Long pressing images on mobile will bring up where the engine found the image (not sure how to pull this up on desktop). It is no different from the images section of Google or Duck Duck Go or w/e else you use in this regard.
I specify this bc pintrest is a hellscape of stolen works :,) it's entire foundation is based on ppl finding aesthetic photos and art and uploading them to the site with no credit or permission. This isn't like that. It is a search engine.
Sometimes what it finds may be reuploads, which sucks, but it's not based in trying to do that. So if you like a photo you see, check out the source. If it seems ligit, consider helping the artist by leaving a tip or doing whatever pleases that site's algorithm.
How to draw characters in a hollow knight/silksong style. (At least, this is how I draw my hk or silksong themed characters.)
Note: the 6B and the soft brush are free brushes from the Procreate classic library. The dynamic comic brush is a brush made by me @lampsilon. I am happy to give you the brush if you ask! And you are free to do what you want with the brush. This brush is made for Procreate.

I have put way too much thought into this damn bug's theoretical in-game mechanics so I'm shoving it all under the cut
(I'm also writing dialogue for him but that's nowhere near done. Also there's over 3000 words of it already. someone should send help I think)
Can be first encountered in Bilewater, cornered by Stilkin Trappers; a few seconds after Hornet engages he joins the fight with shrapnel projectiles and occasional pin stab if an enemy gets too close
As a reward for being saved teaches how to make his Shrapnel Rounds (thrown bundle that explodes into 5 ricocheting shrapnels, each bounces twice)
Buys shards for rosaries (80 shards for 50 rosaries, same exchange rate as other merchants) and can make bundles out of Hornet’s loose shards (with 20 shards taken as payment)
Can be given tacks, sting shards, pimpillos, cogflies and cogwheels to copy for his own arsenal (Hornet must have them equipped, and loses three charges when handing them over); gives a rosary necklace for tacks and sting shards, and a heavy rosary necklace for pimpillos, cogflies and cogwheels; his tools are white and dark brown to distinguish from Hornet's
If given the rosary cannon, he can make a version that uses shell shards instead (same damage, same amount of ammunition)
If given the ruined tool, repairs it into a version that shoots a projectile that explodes on impact and deals aoe damage
If brought the remains of several Cogworkers or Cogwork Spines, he can reconstruct them into a red tool that follows Hornet; when near enemies, stops moving and deals aoe damage, with a 3-sec cooldown, up to 5 times before breaking (2-sec DoT from Cogworkers, burst from Spines) (this also gets added to his arsenal)
Can be encountered in Trobbio’s stage if returning after the fight – pops up from under the stage, gives dialogue about a “backstage full of explosives” and later can be traded for a version of Trobbio’s smoke bombs – shorter range but always go off in an X shape; this also gets added to his arsenal
After he's been given at least one tool, he has a Wish to be taken along for a few fights to test his tools in real battle; Wish is fulfilled when he runs out
Afterwards can be recruited as an ally in return for shards; acts essentially as a secondary tool pouch, Hornet can choose up to two of his arsenal. He leaves after his supply is depleted (dictated by how many shards was spent, up to as many pieces of each tool as Hornet can hold), and can have up to two charges of each active at a time. If he is dismissed early, he retains the tools for later
In Act 3 he works to supply settlements with tools for defense; puts up a Wish for shard donation, gives a short dialogue about it if encountered in his workshop
If his first Wish was fulfilled, he can also be encountered outside Bellhart while Shakra is resting, using his tools to defend in her stead

Meet teacup and dewy! Once regal samplers and taste testers in search of edible foods in their homeland of once proud Verdania now in ruins. Heartbroken over the fallen kingdom teacup has now taken residence in a far off land called Nephaliam with a world of new things to discover and explore, with...a catch. Apparently giants live here, and don't take kindly to bugkind.
I wanted to take a mild break for myself and that break beckoned me to write a bit of lore for the world of Godeaters, starting with The Crossroads and The Surface Lush!
My patreon server has been going nuts over teacup, dewy, and the land of Nephaliam so we've been going crazy discussing lore and making ocs for the fictional hollow knight land.
(I'll draw those ocs a lil bit later cause I have become unhealthily attached)
i am seriously considering wiping windows off my laptop and replacing it w a linux distro but. do any linux enjoyers have good tips/resources for getting art tablets/software working and also games? these two things are the only reservations i have otherwise i would've made the switch by now
for drawing tablets, none of the first-party stuff will work, but OpenTabletDriver is a solid replacement, and supports a wide variety of tablets
and as for games:
Steam games (with a few exceptions) will mostly just work, you might have to occasionally fiddle with the compatability settings, but the majority of steam games will just work
For non-steam games, umu-launcher is a way to use Proton on non-steam games, though the explanation on the github is a bit of a long read, and it currently only has pre-built binaries for Nobara and Arch, so WINE is an easier option through the Lutris game launcher, if you want something simpler to use (though umu-launcher uses less resources due to not having a GUI, and has better compatabiity with newer games)
I can't speak for tablet drivers in general, but when I installed Linux Fedora, then installed Krita on it (a very good free drawing program) and plugged in my old Wacom tablet, it worked instantly.
Seconding the fact that playing games on Linux generally works well, especially on Steam. Lutris is very user-friendly and handy for non-Steam games.
oopsie i tripped and spilled my link to archive dot org's downloadable copy of Microsoft office suite for 2007, which features no AI tools and is a powerful word processor that still holds up just fine on windows 10!
Okay I’m currently furious that migraines are often so blindly easy to treat and I had to find this out myself at the age of 26 when I’ve been to a neurologist since I was 11 lol so I’m about to teach you two neat and fast little tricks to deal with pain!
The first is the sternocleidomastoid muscle, or the SCM muscle.
This big red section is responsible for pain around the eye, cheekbone, and jaw, as well as some temple pain. Literally all you have to do is angle your head down a little, angle it away from the side that hurts, and then you can gently pinch and rub that muscle. I find it best to start at the bottom and travel upwards. The relief is so immediate! You can increase pressure as you feel comfortable doing so.

The second is a fast and easy stretch that soothes your vagus nerve, which is the nerve responsible for calming you down. The vagus nerve, for those unfamiliar, is stimulated by deep breathing such as yawning, sighing, singing, or taking a deep breath to calm your anger in a tense situation.
You can stretch this out by sitting up as straight as possible (this does not have to be perfect to work) and interlacing your fingers. Put your hands on the back of your head with your thumbs going down the sides of your neck and, while keeping your face forward, look all the way to one side with just your eyes. Hold that until you feel the urge to breathe deeply or yawn, or until you can tell there’s a change. Then do the same thing on the other side. When you put your arms down, you should clearly be able to turn your head farther in both directions. If the first session doesn’t get rid of your migraine, rest and repeat as many times as necessary. I even get a little fancy with it and roll my eyes up and down along the outer edge sometimes to stretch as much as I can.
If you need a visual here’s a good video on it. I know some of the language they use seems questionable but this is real and simple science and should not be discarded because it’s been adopted by the trendy wellness crowd!
I seriously cannot believe I didn’t hear a word of this from any doctor in my life. Additionally, if you get frequent recurring migraines, you may want to see a dietician. Migraines can be caused by foods containing histamines, lectin, etc. and can also be caused by high blood pressure in specific situations such as exercise, stress, and even sex.
