it's important to me that ilya remains captain of the centaurs after shane joins, but i have a specific picture in my mind of shane being assistant captain and being generally harmless and super chill , so the centaurs see him as like the chill parent (something to be said about shane being content in letting someone else, specifically His Someone, have the reins and enjoying not being in charge) but then ilya has to be out for a few weeks for like health or smth so shane goes into Captain Mode and the centaurs are scared shitless by how intense he gets all of a sudden. the most intense drills of all time. the hardest plays they've ever heard of. the strictest practices on earth. and they suddenly understand why shane led the metros/voyagers to victory so many times and why ilya treats him like the boss in their relationship. and then as soon as ilya comes back he turns it off and the centaurs are like Oh Thank Fuck Because What The Hell Was That
Taskmaster is legitimately the best show ever like. Five comedians compete for zero money and minimal prestige, which means they're all there to have fun and cause chaos and you can tell that theyre all enjoying it. The two hosts have a weird psychosocial bdsm dynamic and they make it everyone's problem and they both actively consent to it and enjoy it. They have fancy chairs and a house on a golf course that get destroyed regularly. Everyone embarrasses themselves and has a great time doing it. The host whos the "sub" and regularly gets verbally and at times physically abused by every single person on the show organizes everything including a large portion of the abuse. They put every single episode for free on youtube along with lots of bonus content so that every single person can watch it. They have a ton of memes and references and Easter eggs hidden all around but it doesnt limit your enjoyment if you miss something. You find yourself rooting for a special little guy but its equally fun when your special little guy looses. You can pop it on in the background and tune in when you see something funny and laugh but it also makes great background noise. They even have a cow.
Hey! they look GREAT together, both in the book version and in the Disney Plus series :)
do you ever hang out with someone else’s family and you’re like ooooh. so this is what it’s supposed to be like
just a reminder to COMPLETELY boycott Eurovision this year; Azerbaijan and Israel, despite committing genocide, are STILL allowed to compete & have NOT been banned. by refusing to ban both countries, Eurovision is profiting off of the genocide of Palestinians and Armenians.
do not listen to the artists. do not pirate or stream the artists' music, and this applies to ALL the artists who are competing and performing this year. do not listen to the songs on ANY platform, do not give them ANY attention.
write to your broadcasters and tell them you REFUSE to watch the channels until they recognise the Armenian and Palestinian genocides & that you find it disgusting how they are allowing Eurovision despite Azerbaijan and Israel's entries.
do NOT give eurovision OR the competing artists ANYTHING but silence.
boycott ALL of eurovision.
two palestinians from the west bank have died of torture within israeli custody. the number of palestinian prisoners in israeli prison, who are on administrative detention (which means they have not been charged with anything) in june 2023 was 1117, of which 18 were children. the number being held awaiting sentencing was 1158, of which 85 are children.
the number of overall prisoners in israeli prisons in june 2023 was 5,200 most of whom were held on political charges including just being in israel illegally. many are held on false grounds, in inhumane conditions, including minors. they are political prisoners—hostages. since october 7th, that number has doubled to 10,000. so far israel has notified that it has murdered two in its custody. in the west bank (which is not ruled by hamas) over 90 palestinians have been extra-judicially murdered by settlers and the IDF since october 7th.
israel also has a policy of withholding corpses of palestinians who die in its custody. it's called "post-mortem detention." israel says it only has this policy for hamas fighters, but it is not true. there are currently at least 80 corpses of palestinians withheld from families, and around 370 who were either buried in undisclosed locations or kept in the morgue. when they are released, families are given 30 minutes to bury their loved ones in the dead of night, supervised by israeli soldiers with a limited amount of family members in attendance.
For those who want to learn more: There's an organization called Breaking the Silence which keeps detailed records of the human rights abuses and war crimes committed by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).
Breaking the Silence was started by a group of ex-IDF soldiers who deserted the army out of shame for the atrocities they committed and witnessed. After deserting, they felt compelled to begin documenting the human rights abuses and war crimes they committed against the Palestinians. The hope is for their testimony to be used in front of the International Criminal Court.
For those who would like to read the testimonies of hundreds of ex-IDF soldiers about Gaza specifically, you can do so by clicking here. This particular collection concerns the massacres that happened in Gaza in 2014, but it paints a picture of what life is like in Gaza, and how the IDF soldiers see the people in Gaza.
You gonna post heritage posts again or is this just gonna be all gaza all the time?
if you want your silly posts back you're gonna have to liberate palestine first
12 year-old Palestinian boy had a YouTube gaming channel; he hoped for 100,000 subscribers: Awni Eldous was killed with his family in the israeli bombing.
i found awni's channel if anyone would like to subscribe in his memory
in gaza, the indonesian hospital has officially lost power. the ministry of health says they have 48 hours until the rest of the hospitals lose power. this impacts people (children, even) on life support machines. this impacts ~120 newborns in incubators. this impacts patients on dialysis. gaza has been cut off from fuel and aid trucks that could provided much needed fuel have not yet been permitted to cross in.

Is there anything I can do to help Palestinians besides call my representatives and beg them to stop killing people?
This is a great question. There are a few things you can do—just off the top of my head:
BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) https://bdsmovement.net/
Direct Action https://www.palestineaction.org/
Urge your University/School/Organization to put out a statement denouncing Israel
Organize a Protest/Participate in a local one
You might already be doing this but while calling your reps, tell them that as a voter, you're unwilling to support them in the upcoming election unless they urge the White House to take a stand against Israel and stop funding them
Share art/writing/films around Palestinian culture
If you're part of a union, ask them what they're doing to urge their industry leaders to take a stand against Israel + pressure the White House OR urge them to start a strike/walkout/etc if they're not doing anything already
Talk with your friends IRL about Palestine, whether in an activist capacity or watching a movie or literally anything
Reach out to a mosque to see if you can help them with anything
See if your city/state council has put out a statement in support of Gazans. If not, try to push them to do so.
Donate to Palestine Legal or Direct Action if you have some money to spare
KEEP TALKING ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know some of these don't feel like they have as big of an impact on helping Palestinians, but we do need to make an effort not to forget their humanity in the face of continued erasure and the media's sensationalist rhetoric.
Talking on social media and posting—while not seeming like a lot—does SO much. I know in USAmerica, it's like yelling into a void, but political analysts are saying that most of the "Global South" has completely lost any amount of goodwill it may have had the past few years. Hopefully, countries will start to put sanctions and embargoes en masse on the US and Israel soon.
Our goals here are BOTH short-term and long-term. We hope for the life and liberation of the Palestinian people, so anything that you can think of might help at some point in the future is encouraged to at least try.
If anyone else has any more ideas, feel free to reblog and add on. Thank you for asking, and here is to a liberated Palestine where Palestinians can live and thrive without fear.
obsessed with this obviously fake "chemical weapons manual" that the israeli president is claiming hamas militants were caught with. very nice of them to put both a tiny ISIS watermark and 'AL-QAEDA' in english on there just so everyone knows how much they love terrorism and especially the kind of terrorism that scares americans
they should have put a photo of the twin towers exploding with a big cry laugh emoji and a thumbs up next to it just to be safe imo idk if the message is coming across enough
Look at that subtle propaganda. The tasteful islamophobia of it. Oh, my God. It even has a watermark.
