OMGGGGG, I never really had a favorite, but now it's F! It has to be F this pure, sweet baby!!!! Ughhhhh, they are so cute and wholesome. They dont hide their feelings and are so open . *Death glares at A* And finding out THAT THE LITTLE BABY has never really been seriously romanced and left in the dust makes me want to hunt the people who hurt them for sport. How dare they? He deserves the world! I am so ready to confess to them in the book. Im ready for them to realize we are feeling exactly what they are feeling, and we aren't leaving. 😢😢😢😢😢😢

Hehe! Writing F is definitely a change from, my usual romances!

I tend to go for the brooding, angsty types! But I knew I wanted to turn all the vampires into love interests when I was adapting it from my original novel idea, and F was unlike any romance interest I'd written so far. But there was no way I was going to change them, so I had to work around their awesomeness!

Which ended up with me writing a BFF to lovers romance that leaves me with butterflies with each scene, hehe!

F's book 2 carnival chapter breaks me even well before the actual mirror scene. They've never been to a carnival.

Then you find out they've only ever gotten practical gifts and then if you go to the fortune teller:

"You've never had someone choose you. Not after…" A sadness grips her sharp features. She doesn't continue with that thought, something Farah is grateful for. "You need someone to choose you," the teller continues. "And you want that person to be her."

Dear Anon friend - AGREE! We don’t talk about F’s loss nearly enough! F has such fond memories of their life in the Echo world with their mother (when F talked about how they’d sit together and have a small breakfast in b3, while making the detective toast). They blame themselves for what happened to their mother, and they harbor so much guilt

F copes with their loss in a different way than the others, they focus on what is new, they focus on the positive. While they are open, they don’t talk too much about what happened. It is painful

F’s mother encouraged their safety, to run for their safety, and with that? They’ll never see her again. They don’t know what happened to her. It is such a tremendous loss for them

And with that, they won’t, can’t allow someone else to suffer consequences on their behalf. They are protective, fiercely so! We need to talk about it more!

(And iirc, F had tried to stand up for their mother, to unexpected dire consequences. Also thinking about book one and their utter devastation with losing the detective)

M’s is definitely my favorite especially because of how my detective is but like… Gosh, F is everything. I was already thinking about that before anything in the Book 4 Demo, but the most recent chapter release (from months ago) for those playing the demo has beyond solidified that for me. Their reaction to a certain event was so different from the rest of UB it had me basically go into cardiac arrest.

F is the only one who is unwavering in their belief in the detective in EVERY book- supportive of the detective, trusts their judgement even if they don’t agree with it, is upfront and lays everything about themselves and their story, no smoke and mirrors. Won’t tell, but will ask. F thinks the detective hung the sun, moon, and stars with how much they value, support, and respect the detective.

That’s not to say the other members of UB aren’t also great and do the same thing but F has like stood on business since book 1.

Yes! Their route is just so wholesome. This is the kind of relationship that you really want: honest, full of love and trust, that have funny and charming moments.

It’s just so different to have a partner that believes in you and is your biggest cheerleader. That has your back even when they don’t agree with your decisions and worry sick about you not because they think you’re weak but because they are so afraid of loosing you.

It’s the power duo dynamic that F and MC have. We don’t have enough of this kind of romance in media.

i know twc and mishka definitely aren't above criticism and we can and should read the books using critical thinking, but still i'll always be so grateful to her for introducing me to these wonderful characters and making me act insane over fictional relationships on a daily basis. like she's definitely talented at what she does and these characters have been with me for four years now and i love them so so so much, especially A & N gotta be two of my favourite characters like. EVER across all the media i've consumed during my life, and it's always fun to return to the books and fandom after spending time away doing other hobbies ✨️🩷

i am so obsessed with unromanced n, never been in love n, hungry for love the way they are hungry for blood but never sufficiently fed n...

especially next to stoic a who literally falls in love with the detective at first sight. or f who has always looked up to n for this kind of stuff, only to fall in love first. or m who does not even want it (does not even want it) and then love falls into their lap.

and n, romantic charming patient n, unromanced but never even jealous because they love their friends so much and want to see them happy...and that is love, that is family!!

ok also i do not understand love at first sight as a concept. but i headcanon a just being prone to it. falling in love silently (broodily) all the time over the last several centuries. never saying a word about it to anyone except possibly n (who has never been in love!!!!!!!!! and does not understand but wishes they did!!!!!!).
