People's posts have me thinking about it and despite the fact she would love weddings & I often imagine her as a wedding dress designer in AUs where she isn't the detective I think Kira would be allergic to a big wedding actually. Like she and Nat start planning one because you know of course Nat loves opulence and Kira would be trying like hell to be excited and here for it but I think the dread would mount til she hits her breaking point and would ask (beg) Nat to cancel all the plans. And then they just go to the courthouse and she wears fairly simple dress she made while pulling an all nighter. And it's just UB, Verda, and Tina*.
rebecca black was right. It’s Friday
actually we should start headcanoning female characters as being terrible with children
stop mother-ifying fictional literally all female characters. that fictional woman would not know what the fuck to do with a child
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.
I have made a fiction!
Hunger
Fandom: Wayhaven
Relationship: Nate Sewell & Kat
Rating: T
Word count: approx 4000
Summary:
Kat wipes the corner of her mouth and raises her hand like a benediction. Blood slides down her fingers.
“Enlarge not to my hunger,” Nate murmurs, quoting Keats, “or I'm caught in trammels of perverse deliciousness.”
His jaw aches. Saliva floods his mouth and he swallows. A pulse that isn’t a heartbeat beats in his fangs.
He licks his lower lip and Kat watches his tongue before slowly grazing her fingertips along his mouth. Her blood, dark and sticky sweet, smeared on his lips.

I do think the ability to emoji-react is a net win for human communication. not only does it give you an outlet for 'I see and acknowledge this but don't have a verbal response' but it also adds a pleasing alethiometer element to things
my coworker announces that he's off to the dentist. someone reacts with a tooth emoji. is this a statement of dentist solidarity? a wish for my coworker to return with more (or fewer?) teeth than he set out with? simple word association? who can say
Friend of mine calls it active listening. Ah yes we are speaking of tooths. I understand and respond. Here it a tooth image. I have heard you.
a pair o' nat mancers for @sosolenoo and @crownleys 💚📚
Imagining a scene is free. Writing it costs my entire lifespan
What if we accidentally fell in love?
What then?

I love asking people how their parents met. You always get an interesting reply. My best friend’s parents met on the relatively new internet in 1999. My other friend’s parents met at Burger King when one was the manager and the other was a regular customer. My parents met at the beach because they were neighbors in their rental houses, mom was on a church trip and dad was getting blackout drunk every night with his friends next door.
Tell me how your parents met in the tags.
It's been a while since I've worked on a sincere, longer-form landscape study. I still had to keep a time limit of one hour on this, but I still had a lot of fun focusing on this. Daily drawing 2472.
pick up that non-fiction book
not all of us can live in fantasy 100% the time like i see some people on here do and it's refreshing to learn something new. its been philosophy, essays, and history for me and i feel much more at home on planet Earth for it knowing that people have been struggling and wishing similarly for millenia.
its not that fiction doesnt have its place, its important and healthy to exercise the imagination, but non-fiction can do so much to boost and supplement that. if not for yourself, for your art or for the people you're around
"representation matters!" but you wont read or engage with non-fiction works about any demographic outside your own
this version of the post doesnt seem to be getting much traction but this is arguably the most important reason why we should be reading nonfiction in addition to fiction
