A city divided into sectors, ruled by a king and his chaebol court, where the Marked struggle to eke out a living in poverty and oppression, and one mistake can get you sanctioned forever - lost to hard labor in the factories and greenhouses or to life as a companion trapped in the gilded apartments of the inner sector elite.

But a revolution is stirring in the shadows and everything is about to change.

(Or: Hoseok runs an underground radio program; Namjoon and Seokjin dream of building a better world from their golden cage; Taehyung and Jimin desperately search for lost family; and Yoongi and Jungkook are just trying to survive.)

admin mai: I read this, all 214k words of it, in one day. It came at a time when I was having trouble getting into any fics at all, and I’ve been aware of its existence for a while but had only gotten around to reading it recently. And wow, I don’t have the words. This quickly shot up to being one of my top 3 fics, if not my favorite fic. I love how this story is entirely plot-driven, and while I enjoyed all the ships in it, I was really in it for the way sharpa wove this story and POVs together. So so well-written and paced perfectly, world-building an A+, made everyone’s POV a joy to read, i loved it so much.

Of course, usually in fics this long, there are bound to be warnings, and once again I implore you to read the tags before starting on this. The tags are there for a reason, and the story could get really heavy and triggering at times, so please read it at your own discretion.

he wonders briefly how jungkook manages to make it up flights of stairs or live life in general. then he’s zooming his way over, tongue stuck out in concentration. he's gripping his bagel so tightly that it turns his knuckles white.

“i’m jungkook,” he says when he’s close enough, almost loses control and cracks his head open on a metal pole. yoongi has to grab his arm to keep him steady. jungkook's skin is soft but yoongi’s fingers barely sink in, bicep solid under his touch.

“yoongi,” he returns breathlessly.

(ex. yoongi finds his soulmate, loses his soulmate, and then jeon jungkook nearly kills him)
